I'd be surprised if Metroplex sells out any time soon, but I did warn Hasbro Australia that this very expensive toy is not an iconic character or alt-mode, but I don't think it was early enough for them to cut back on the units coming into the country.
Also, keep in mind that Predaking (the titan for 2018) sold out very quickly, so it never hung around long enough to go on sale (I was wanting a second, cheaper one to have the combiner with the individual bots, but never got the chance).

I have a feeling this will eventually shelf warm across a number of retailers and so will be available on sale somewhere, which Amazon will match or beat. I've seen Kingdom Arks shelfwarm at Myer and Toymate (still available at one of my regular Toymates). ToysRUs might get and sell Metroplex too at a good price. And Popcultcha (https://www.popcultcha.com.au/transformers-cybertron-metroplex-legacy-series-titan-class-22-action-figure.html) has it now at $340, which will stay there forever until Popcultcha has its occasional 20% off sale that would bring it down to $272 with free shipping.

Yep, was in Zing Chermside today, saw it, remembered my birthday $10 voucher and grabbed it, cancelled my Amazon order as I walked out. The American stock is available now, while the Australian stock is listed as Temporarily Out of Stock, so might be available soon.... but considering the American stock is almost $20 cheaper (for those with prime membership), why wait for the Australian stock to eventually show up.
Especially considering the five toys would retail for about $200, the extra cost is really just paying for the fancy box (unless you are comparing this total price to what it might cost to find all five of these old Studio Series toys on the secondary market).

MPM-12N Nemesis Prime (black redeco Optimus from the Bumblebee Movie) is now on Amazon Australia for pre-order for May 6th 2023 (https://www.amazon.com.au/Transformers-Masterpiece-Movie-MPM-12N-Nemesis/dp/B0BCTZV34Z/) (oddly enough, a month before the redeco Movie Masterpiece Starscream comes out, despite both being redecos and Starscream was listed a couple months ago)... for a huge $320!
The regular deco MPM-12 Optimus is just $194 at JB right now, so it is difficult to understand why the redeco would be about 40% more expensive.

They have really dropped the ball in recent months. I was happy to always go to them because of their Prime service with next day delivery and pretty good sales at times but i have had a few issues with stuff not being delivered either which is very frustrating dealing with them too.

Release dates are indeed set by Hasbro (either as an estimate of when the stock should be here or a set global release date of a major item or wave), but the issue we have here is when dated items are having their release dates pushed back... which means that the supplier (Hasbro) is having trouble getting the stock in time to meet their own release dates.
That's a concern, as there is now a slim possibility that the supplier (Hasbro) is unable to secure stock at all... and the longer it is dragged out with delay updates, the harder it will be for us collectors to track down affordable alternatives from elsewhere before it is too late.

A damn shame if Amazon has turned crap. The Prime membership has meant access to a reasonably good streaming service, but also that I can have smaller purchases coming sporadically. Ordering one deluxe at a time from other retailers would smash your postage costs but with the free postage through Prime, it means I can have a constant trickle of smaller deliveries coming through. And that means I end up appreciating the individual figures a lot more than if they arrive in a big box all at once.

Aside from the audio-visual content that Prime membership gains (I haven't even looked into it, so don't know what you get), I still find the purchasing benefits worth it for me. After all, their prices take into account the cost of shipping, so why not get as much as possible as "free shipping" so that I'm not paying extra shipping.... and if something is released in America earlier than here and Amazon Australia gives us access to it, it will also give free shipping if Amazon is the seller.

The delays are still very annoying, and I hate having to see others with new toys a month or two before me, but I just can't afford to buy from the first-release sources if the cheaper option ends up being Amazon. (a bit like BigW, who usually gets their stock last because they often negotiate a cheaper price from their suppliers and have to wait longer for it)

The listing was up months ago, so when they finally got the stock in a few weeks back (when I saw the case-mate Laserbeak available), they would have had Rumble as well, but was the more in-demand toy so sold out first... and I guess it took a few weeks for them to get more stock in from Hasbro Australia.

I also saw that there was a partial listing for Collaborative Tonkanator, from America, so must be a 3rd party seller about to list some units that they bought from Target.
The price is pretty good too, compared to what it would cost to get one from an American source, as it retails for about us$100, which would be about au$160... plus shipping (which would be close to $100 for such a big box), and perhaps GST if you order through some places that charge it.

I hear that. The Robosen trailer had originally been scheduled for December. A couple of months ago it got pushed out to January - no problem, gives me more time to pay it off. Then on Friday, I got a text out of nowhere telling me it's ready for pickup. I had made a few payments towards this previously, but to have an unplanned $850 balance to pay off completely blew out my budget.

Transformers Collaborative Tonkanator coming to Australia?

A couple weeks ago, Amazon Australia put up a product page for "Project Space" (all of the Collaborative toys have a Project code-name), showing images of the Tonkanator set, and noting that it was shipping from America (which would be 3rd party stock, not from Amazon America, as it is a Target exclusive in America).
At about au$220, it actually looked like a good deal (if you qualified for free shipping), based on what it costs in America, and what it would cost to post this big box to Australia.
But a couple days ago, the Amazon Australia listing added the option of purchasing stock from Amazon Australia (Australian stock), for an even better price of au$200.
Take into account that postage would normally be $20-30 for this sort of sized item, so each of the six toys in this set ends up being slightly less than the price of a Deluxe.

I bought a Phillips Hue Bridge base station that was marked as a returned product, so I knew what I was getting. It was an 80% discount on the thing so I bought it instead of new. I found everything in the package that should be in there, but really concerning was the fact they didn't reset the device. So I got access to the original owner's account. Amazon doesn't give a damn.

I was just thinking... an online store that doesn't check the contents of returned items makes it easy for someone else to buy a discounted "returned" item, just to swap out the toy with junk and then claim that that was how it was received... resulting in a refund (free toy), and potentially a black mark against the person who did the original return.

Last night Hasbro (the Transformers facebook page) revealed two new 2-packs for Legacy Evolution, exclusive to Amazon in America.
One is "Humble Origins" with Senator Shockwave (a really weird looking light blue remoulded Siege Seeker Pyramid Jet) and Orion Pax (a remoulded Siege Hound).
The other pack is "Rise of Tyranny", with Senator Ratbat (a remoulded Studio Series Scourge) and Miner Megatron (remoulded Seige Megatron).

Then today, Amazon Australia put up a pre-order listing for just one of the 2-packs... but... someone screwed it up. The product page title, the URL name, and the product description paragraphs are all for the Humble Origins 2-pack, while the images are of the Rise of Tyranny 2-pack.

After I pointed this out to Hasbro to get it fixed, the listing has just been edited. Instead of just changing the images to match everything else (including the most important part - the link that has the product named in it), they changed the product page title and the product description paragraphs to match the images... leaving it with a URL that says "Senator Shockwave" who is in the other 2-pack.

It also means that, even if they list the other 2-pack later, if Amazon Australia have fixed the wrong bits on this one and it is still a listing for the Humble Origins 2-pack, people who only want one of the two 2-packs, may get the wrong 2-pack sent to them if the listing is not matching whatever product code goes with the set.

Hopefully they list the other 2-pack soon, as I want to order both... so it then wouldn't affect me if both listings are actually selling the other 2-pack.

Same thing happened to me, given that his wave mate Barricade is set to arrive in June I think it's pretty easy to take a guess at what happened though; Amazon only applied the delay to one figure in the wave for whatever reason, when it came time to ship BB they found they had no stock(as it was delayed and mass canceled the orders they obviously couldn't fill

Megatron and Ratbat are nice at $90, we initially preordered Pax and Shockwave thinking it was those two and thinking it was a super reasonable price for two voyagers. Makes sense it was actually a deluxe and voyager but hey at $90 thats todays retail for two deluxes, not two voyagers. Nice to have those locked in. Will keep the heroic counterpart for now and see if the budget allows for it in a few months.

It does, yes.

I had two orders, one for each (with the names and product codes transposed).

At lunch I had two orders for the same product code (F6964, which is Pax and Shockers) with the wrong pictures and text on both.

Now I have two orders for the same product code (F6964), but one of them shows Megs and Ratbat with text for Pax and Shockers, and the other shows the exact opposite.

This has now well and truly descended into farce.

One potential good point - they both have unique ASINs (Amazon's internal stock numbers). I just don't know if those are the same ASINs as before :confused:
