Yes. I'm a fan and have enjoyed all four seasons. The first episode is a bit heavy and serious as I recall, but there's such an entertaining range of new characters, Sarah's sisters, that come along. Sometimes the conspiracy stuff gets a bit boring, but I've found the "pretending to be someone else" situations always entertaining.

The hype surrounding Stranger things whet my appetite for more of the weird. Rewatched all of American Horror Story and just discovered American Gothic.

Despite having the same name and also being a CBS show, AG is not related to the 90's series. And that's a pity. So far the new show is more Dallas style whodunnit than the occult thriller I was expecting. I hope it gets better.

But I hear the new Voltron is good. Done by the same crew behind the Avatar Aang and Korra series.

The final season of Mythbusters (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_MythBusters_episodes#2016_season) starts on SBS2 tonight, while on SBS1 at about the same time is a doco on the restoration of the original Star Trek series (probably for one of the DVD releases), I guess as part of the 60th anniversary of the series this year.

I've seen commercials for a new Macgyver tv show... it seems almost sacrilegious, to try to redo a classic, corny tv show like that... with a new mullet in the title role.
I think it would have been better to create a new show with the same formula, than doing a copy of a show that was iconic. It's like redoing a classic movie (like Ben Hur, which flopped), as opposed to creating a new classic based on that same premise (like Gladiator).

Im a huge RDA fan. Loved him as Col. O'Neill in Stargate. I was hoping he would have some involvement in the reboot so it is a shame to hear he wants no part of it.

I watched it lsst night and actually enjoyed it. I haven't seen the original in 20 years so my memory is hazy but I thought it was ok. I will keep watching.

Not all reboots are bad. I really enjoy Hawaii Five-0 and Battlestar Galactica reboots.

Tried to watch the new Macgyver (my hubs is a huge fan of the original) and I got about 5 minutes in before I couldn't watch any more.
Could they cast a more ugly actor for Macgyver? Let alone stupid things like revealing his first name straight away... It was a thing with the original that it took 2 years before the audience discovered his first name. Are the audience that dumb they have to write what Macgyver is using on the screen? Ugh... terrible!
The storyline was awful and the characterisation was really off. My hubs couldn't even watch the whole first episode.

Certainly proves the rule - if it ain't broke, don't fix it (even if you do have a paperclip and chewing gum).

Also watched the new Lethal Weapon show. Better than Macgyver but the guy who plays Riggs is terrible and definitely not a looker either. Strylines are better written and it has potential though...

Enjoying Son of Zorn. Funny stuff.

It's a bit like, what if He-Man was real, but from an animated universe, and had a family with a human female... and then how would those two "worlds" interact.
I got bored with it after the first episode though, as the concept was pretty much the same after that.

A repeat of the Toy Hunter tv show is on Channel 99, at 11.30pm on Wednesday. Not sure if it is just a space-filler episode, or a regular timeslot.

There's also a William Shatner Roast on Thursday at 9.30pm on channel 9... which could be amusing... and most likely tasteless, but I've seen a fair bit of his works, so might find it funny when it gets referenced or roasted.

I was actually surprised that he is 85 years old. I was watching that "Better late than never" show last week, with four old "famous" people from TV and sport, travelling the globe, with the first episode being Tokyo... and one of them mentioned that he was 85. He certainly doesn't look 85, but I looked it up, and sure enough, he was born in 1931. (which I guess makes sense, as he was obviously in his 30s during the original Star Trek, and that was 50 years ago now)
This week (on Thursday at 8.30pm) they travel to Hong Kong, which is another location I'm familiar with, so it should be just as interesting, and amusing.

LOL! 10 points for that joke!

Later tonight on SBS2 is a movie 'Journey to the West'. A different perspective to the tv series with the same title that aired many moons ago (aka Monkey Magic).
Was that a movie that looked fairly recent in Japanese? All characters done by Japanese SMAP actors if it is.
They had a TV series run for aboutt 10 episodes. Not quite as good as the original Monkey Magic. The hing that annoyed me the most was that Monkey made a sudden shift from being reckless and selfish to spouting lectures at the bad guys about the goodnees of humans in the first epi.

It did have some good moments, like when there are impostor Monkey, Pigsy and Sandy characters, and the person playing Tripiktaka is a sexy girl. A good joke, since Tripitaka is supposed to be a boy, but is usually acted by a girl.

I had not even heard about this show until I read an article on SMH about how degrading it was towards women. I decided to give it a try and not judge before watching and I am glad I did. I really enjoyed it when you look at it as a show about human nature and not about objectifying women (I found the article to take a very narrow interpretation of the show upon reflection).

Wow, that never entered my mind while watching it. That must have been a veeeeery narrow interpretation of the show. What do people expect? It's a western and ladies rarely get the good end of the stick in them generally, but there is nothing in there that I saw that makes it any worse than any number of shows.
Wow. (again)

Into new show I'm watching. Who else has seen Blunt Talk? Patrick Stewart is great. Only 4 episodes in and I'm laughing alot. I think in his later years, he has come to not take himself seriously and it shows. Plus, it's a Seth McFarlene show, so it is bound to be funny

I have three more episodes left of that. While I like the realism (bit weird using realism to describe fiction, maybe 'practicality' is a better word) it does feel quite dry, a bit like Battlestar Galactica. Tom Jane's horrendous combover doesn't help.

There's been a bunch of times I've thought that it's getting a little cheesy and then it pulls out something cool. We'll see.

More a stand alone movie than a TV show, but "iBoy" on Netflix was pretty cool. Not brilliant but there is some good performaces there. Could've been really good if they gave it a bit more time and space, maybe 3-5 hour long episodes rather than a 90-odd-minute one-off.

Flash is killing it right now too.

LoT managed to pluck the greatest characters from the Arrowverse for all out action fun without being limited by the usual C.W forced romance and unneeded drama storylines. Probably the pick of the bunch right now.

I think LoT is the best of the CW DC shows. Surprisingly for me my favourite character is Nate Heywood.

Just saw the first episode of Legion, a sort-of X-Men spin off. Unbelievably brilliant, better than any of the X-Men films so far. So good that I'm now nervous that the rest of the series couldn't possibly live up to the debut ep.

Will need to watch this series considering that Legion's stupidity brought about the age of Apocalypse event (back in the 90's).

On another note, I finished watching S1 of Stranger Things and what an 80's sci-fi nerdgasm of a series:D! Can't wait for S2 where the kids turn up to school dressed as the Ghostbusters. Excellent choice of cosplay.

I got an offer from Netflix to have a new free trial for a month since I haven't been subscribed for a while. Nate and Vixen have been significant upgrades on the Hawks last season. That was such a terrible storyline with Vandal Savage.

The pacing and writing on this show is so much better than Flash this season and anything from Arrow the past few seasons - I still need to catch up on this season's Arrow as I've heard it's been much better.

Half way through Iron Fist on Netflix. It isn't awesome. The "martial arts" and fight scenes are pedestrian, which is a particular problem if your show is one based on a martial arts expert.

Going to press on through the series for the sake of the Defenders series which is up next.

The two part Four Corners story on the Lindt Cafe Seige was great and worth catching up on via Iview. Great account of what happened, quite damning of the official response, and quite harrowing to get an insight of what the hostages suffered. Not a bad GoT ep this week. Got me a little more involved than I had been previously.

I was hoping Bronn would've impaled Daenerys instead of Drogon. Hell, even Jamie gave it a red hot go. Good on him for having a crack. Of course it's quite difficult when you have a big f off dragon staring down at you, but well done nonetheless. +10

Daenerys gets a -20 for being a spoilt brat. Again.
Arya gets a +10 for her display of badassery.
Littlefinger gets +1 for finally letting go of the walls he loves to hug so much & crawling out of the shadows.
Brienne gets a -10 for being Brienne. Can't wait for The Hound to cleave her in half from top to tail.

And Bran... Bran. Someone roll that catatonic lump off the edge of a cliff already  Fly, Raven, Fly!

Ah, so you're one of those Dany haters. :(:D

I used to like Bronn but he's fighting for the wrong side, and after trying to take a shot at Drogon he's gone way down the list. Hopefully Jamie and him will realise the evil which is Cersei and side with Dany. But at the same time I want Jamie to get back to Kingslanding so he can tell Cersei that it was the savage boss Olenna who poisioned her dirtbag of a son.

Nah, I don't hate Daenerys. She's a good leader, but a terrible ruler. Just look at what she's done and both socially and economically to the cities she's "freed" along with her contradicting sense of justice.

Her claim to being the "rightful queen" is also no more valid than any of the other lords of westeros. If you can take it and claim it as your own just like Aegon the Conqueror did all of those years ago, you can rule it.

And so far I am entertained. I like the concept of the spore drive even if they are fuzzy on the details. And Starfleet are acting in a completely irrational manner by allowing the Discovery to roam the Galaxy.

An aside, I know GIJoe from the TF UK comics and never saw an episode of the cartoon as a kid. They played a clip of Cobra Commander from that cartoon and that voice is awful for him!

There is enough similarities between the origins of GIJoe and Transformers that a TF episode might seem redundant.

The thing about GIJoe's origin that surprised me as a casual Joe fan was how only a few of the original 80s line up seem to have become a big deal since. Sure Hawk, Snake Eyes, Scarlett and Cobra Commander remain big names, but who are Zap, Flash and Grunt? Compared to TF's 84 line up that remains so well loved.

Wow, I hadn’t ever heard of the John Woo version...

I only caught the first ep of the new series (so far) and found it an interesting update, if you can accept the extraordinary contrivance of them crash landing on a planet that is virtually the same as Earth (clearly done for budgetary reasons, so somewhat understandable). The robot is a particularly interesting update and there’s some intriguing mysteries set up in the first ep that are going to be interesting to see unfold.

True and I like that they still made the attempt to make the landscape alien to a degree: the ends of tree branches are rounded of at the end and the root system is almost like a printed circuit board. I'll refrain from talking about the Robot other than it's bloody-well nigh indestructible like the one in the original series.

Also while they tried to do hard science like the Expanse this is an all ages show.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of Cobra Kai. Disappointing. They've turned Daniel and Johnny into caricatures rather than characters, and neither of them seem to have really changed since the 80s. What the?

Daniel LaRusso
He's really acting like a jerk towards Johnny. Okay, Johnny bullied him when they were kids, but we know that at the end of Karate Kid Johnny handed the trophy to Daniel with a very brief but important exchange of words...
"You're alright, LaRusso."
"Thanks a lot!"
This is subtle but super important for both characters as it represents reconciliation. It would be assumed that they would have grown from that point onwards. Johnny effectively apologised and Daniel accepted it. So why would he, over 30 years later, rub that defeat in Johnny's face? Daniel explains it as friendly ribbing, but... they're not friends. It comes off as bullying. Now to Daniel's credit, he does realise that he's crossed a line and offers to repair Johnny's car for free and gives him a free bonsai as a further token gesture of goodwill, and that's cool. But when he learns that it was Johnny who fought with his daughter's boyfriend, he went and confronted Johnny in a really provocative and aggressive manner rather than simply speaking to Johnny as an adult in order to voice some serious concerns. At the end of the day, a kid has made an allegation about Johnny, but rather than getting Johnny's side of the story first, Daniel went and started making accusations and then warning Johnny to stay away from his daughter's friends. Really not cool. And for some reason Daniel is a fairly incompetent parent. Forget Johnny, Daniel needs Supernanny to come along and smack some parenting sense into him!

Johnny Lawrence
Very disappointing character. Are you telling me that he's allowed ONE sporting defeat to ruin his entire life? Daniel is the Real Bully in the Karate Kid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_Gz_iTuRMM) explains well how Johnny was a flawed but otherwise basically decent character. He had made some poor decisions in the past but they were behind him and he was trying to make his life better. And as mentioned before, he even reconciled his differences with Daniel at the end of the film in a gesture of good sportsmanship. I don't necessarily have an issue with Johnny being portrayed as a total loser -- they do show us a scene where Johnny's instructor beat him up for coming 2nd place in the tournament. And that's bad. The original Cobra Kai instructor was both emotionally and physically abusive and it's plausible that it would've had ongoing negative consequences on Johnny as a person. The show also explains how Johnny lost his mother and was raised by a difficult stepfather. So yeah, it does explain how and why Johnny's life has gone down the toilet. But it doesn't explain why he's so childish and... basically just a real jerk. Someone who's continually haunted by the memory of losing one Karate match. Really? Damn, how petty can you get? And why is he such a bully to his own student? I thought it was really cool when he stood up to the bullies that were beating the kid up. It was reminiscent of the scene where Mr Miyagi beat up Johnny and his mates to protect Daniel (only that Daniel provoked that incident whereas here the kid was completely innocent). I don't get it. And the casual racism? Huh? I don't recall seeing any of that from the original movie.

Anyway, apparently I need to sign on for YouTube Premium to watch Episode 3, but I'm unconvinced after the first 2 eps where the main characters are pretty one dimensional. It feels like the show just wants to continue the grudge match between Daniel and Johnny despite the 35-odd year gap and by totally ignoring that important end dialogue between the characters in the movie. I get that they want to make Johnny vulnerable and at a low point - hopefully because they want to develop him as a protagonist and not just make him a cartoonish villain.

Johnny's journey sorta reminds me of Mr Miyagi's. Mr Miyagi was in a bad place when he met Daniel. Miyagi was an alcoholic and haunted by the memory of his wife dying in childbirth. It was through mentoring Daniel that Miyagi himself completed his own journey of redemption. I hope that this is what they have planned for Johnny's character by becoming an instructor a the new Cobra Kai. But I dunno... while Miyagi had his issues, he wasn't a butthole. Jackie Chan's character in the 2010 Karate Kid remake had even deeper issues, being responsible for his family's death after he crashed the family car. Chan's character suffered not only from survivor's guilt, but also knowing that it was his reckless actions behind the wheel that caused it. And it was through his mentoring of Jaden Smith's character that Chan's character was able to find redemption and self-forgiveness. But again, Chan wasn't a butthole. He wasn't a petty bully holding onto some childish 30+ year old grudge.

Buuuuuuut neither Miyagi nor Chan's character seemed to have traumatic childhoods. In fact, both Miyagi and Chan's character learnt their martial arts from their fathers - so it seems that they had good family relationships. The traumatic events in Miyagi's and Chan's lives happened during their adulthood, which was still horrible, but not the same as childhood trauma. The original Cobra Kai instructor brainwashed his students - effectively grooming them. Not in a sexual manner, but still holding grossly abusive power and control over the kids in his Dojo. We see Johnny repeating some of these traits as an instructor, which is tragic to see... but in Cobra-Kai it just comes across as being comical rather than scary. Johnny comes across as a middle-aged schoolyard bully rather than the menacing presence that his Sensei had.

I dunno... the series has the potential to be good, and I hope that it does improve in future eps but I can't be bothered downloading a new version of YouTube just to watch if. I might go and read some episode synopses since I don't care about spoilers for this series at this stage. :p

Watched Bodyguard on Netflix. Easily binge-able as only 6 episodes long. BBC/Netflix co-produced, starring Richard Madden (late of Game of Thrones).

It's EXCELLENT.

There were a few things that bothered me a little (2 of my concerns through eps 1-5 were explained reasonably well in ep 6, albeit in a slightly "that's convenient" kind of way, and 2 or 3 things in the last ep were a bit of a stretch - would love to discuss more but want to avoid spoilers), but overall, really really great. The tension through a fair bit of the series is palpable. It's a bit complex too, with conspiracies and twists, so it's the kind of show you can get lost/confused if you're not paying attention.

Enjoying the living heck out of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix. Been binging it with my wife. I love a show that doesn’t mind stopping for a song, or a dance number. Cool superheroics, an intriguing story with some clever conceits and some fun action, tight script and great characters, well acted. Recommended.

Contrast to Titans that wallowed in its grim ‘n’ grittiness, pointless uber-violence that exists only for its own sake, and poor characterisation. It features characters whose names and most simple of design aesthetic are familiar, but literally nothing else. Just a dirge. Avoid.

I’m going to add to my Umbrella Academy review now that I’m done with the series. It’s still great. It did some interesting things towards the end, and then the last 2 eps settles into an ending that appeared a little predictable, maybe just short of cliched. But then, it did that ending so well, it didn’t matter that I saw it coming.

Left it open for a second series, which I sincerely hope they do.

Keen to hear the thoughts of others, spoiler-free of course.

The current season is pretty good though they're truncating them to 20 episodes now to give the actors a bit more of an off-season break with their families. As a fan, I'm ok with this. They've been working their butts off for 14 years. That's crazy.

Angels and Demons and the like are (and always have been) the backbone of the show lets face it. But they still have the 'monster of the week' episodes thrown in to keep things interesting.

It's hit and miss....

There's a bunch of BBC content on there now that's going away in a few weeks. All the Disney stuff went a few months ago to Stan. But on the same time we get the CBS Access stuff on Au Netflix (the new Star Trek shows)

The Netflix original stuff is plentiful and a lot of it's very good.

The selection of movies is also pretty limited overall - not much back catalogue compared to a video store. It's better for more recent films, but heaps of films from the 2000s and the 90s aren't on streaming, and earlier than that it's even harder to find stuff.

My list of things to watch is still longer than I have time in the day to watch.

I've quite enjoyed watching The Good Place, all three seasons of which are on Netflix. Apparently the writers on it got in touch with the writers from Lost to figure out the best way to hook viewers into watching the next episode, and it shows. It's light and compelling viewing.

Black Books is an incredibly funny English comedy series from about 15 years ago which is all on Netflix.

I didn't mind watching the first season of Good Girls. It's trying desperately to be the new Breaking Bad and it's no where near that level, but I still found it quite watchable.

As far as animated shows go, Disenchanted is quite good viewing (same creator as The Simpsons and Futurama). The first episode is a bit middling, but the rest of it is quite strong. My fiance speaks quite highly of Final Space, though I've not had the chance to watch it myself. There's always Rick and Morty too, which is quite highly rated.

Black Mirror is a near future/sci fi anthology show. Think of it like extended episodes of the old Twilight Zone - each story is entirely self contained and you can watch them in more or less any order.

I couldn't get into Umbrella Academy. I watched the first episode (most of it twice actually) and it just didn't hook me. Ditto Altered Carbon. They're on my 'wait a while, give it another go' list.

I made it through The Expanse season 1. I'm no stranger to a bit of science fiction/space opera television (big fan of BSG and Firefly) but for me it was a bit convoluted.

Game of Thrones S8E1

With the exception of one scene of dialogue, stock standard establishing affair. Pretty meh, really.

The first episode is always pretty stock, they are traditionally used it to set the scene.

Having said that, I can’t help feel like it’s rushed. There may only be 6 episodes left with a lot to get through, but they don’t have to be exactly an hour. I don’t want more things to be covered, I just would have preferred that the interactions in the scenes were a bit more in depth as opposed to the 2 to 3 lines before moving on. There were some big reunions in there and it Feels like they are just ticking boxes which sort of cheapens the seasons of build up. Ever since the series over took the books, the dialogue and script has suffered.

Sinnertwin
16th April 2019, 07:52 AM
I'm of the opposite opinion as far as it feeling rushed is. I felt the opening scene for example was far too padded & went on for too long. As for the other dialogues, some I felt were unnecessary and some felt like ooh, we need something else interesting happening over here too.
I was like, come on, we get it, cut the fat & move along.

Netflix marvel. I can see why they wanted shorten seasons. Overall good but some were drawn out to fill the number of episodes per season. Iron Fist was the weakest one but great at the end with its advancements in story. I find the multiple series were too drama instead of comic book at times.

DC titans took a while to warm up. Hope there is a second season as it didnt resolve. Some continuity issues such as the car, outside fine, inside rain, outside fine again, placement of arms at different camera angles etc.. Black lightening i only just started but its a bit more miss than hit atm. I find dc cgi to be very woeful compared to marvel. The costumes in dc can be cosplay quality at times. Couldnt find doom patrol though i saw it in the list beforehand.

Bright was a b grade sifi slog. Interesting world building but story could have been better told. Good costumes.

Shinara chronicles. Watched coz had aussie actor. C grade? Fantasy show. Its ok fodder if nothing else is on.

Arrow has 6 seasons with 23 eps per season. Do i dare start the slog?

Star Trek Discovery was great. Good cgi, lil lost on the science but good thrill ride. Liked the characters and their evolutions but the gay doctor seemed shoe horned in at the end. Would recommend it if you are a trekky or like space shows.

After life by ricky gervias. Great show of loss and finding life again. Its a bit of a black/dark comedy.

Both these episodes are of such high quality that they're impossible to separate and too different to each other to be properly compared. So at this point in time I have to give both of them the equal ranking of best GOT episode.:D

Almost worth getting Netflix for Good Place alone. Brooklyn 99 also makes paying for a solitary month of Netflix to burn through worth it.

I enjoyed the Legomasters show more than I thought, but I agree Trev, more time on the construction, and then more on 360 degree displays so we can really see everything. I've recorded Monday and Tuesday (tonight's) episodes and will try to watch throughout the week. I really wish it wasn't elimination, more of a score based thing and the team with the best score at the end won. That way we'd get more awesome builds because every team is incredibly talented and the pool diverse.

GoT The Long Night was a series of amazing (but very dark) battles interspersed with dumb characters doing dumb things, which only heightened the tension. There was one death that I think got everyone, but was awesome overall. The ending is what I expected from the show, and I am happy with it. There are a few whingers online (I know!, Who'd have thought!) but I think they have been too wrapped up in their fan theories and forgot that the ending was the culmination of that characters journey and what they grew into.
I am sure the book will go the same ending for this battle, but the path to it, and many of the final players will be very different. (If Martin somehow gets to finish the books, which I personally doubt.)

It pretty much did disappear up its own arse for mine. I loved Mythbusters and all, but having three spin-off shows on TV here at about the same time (and re-runs of the original show) is a bit much.

Mythbusters Junior - features about 6 teenagers (re)testing myths with Adam as the main host (produced this year, so is the newest of the three shows, but no word on a second series yet).

Mythbusters The Search - a mini-series of mostly old myths to find new hosts for the "new" show, from a field of about 12, with one being eliminated most episodes. (no original cast involved - filmed 2 years ago, and it looks like they've already done two seasons of the new regular show with the new hosts, but nothing this year, so maybe it ended?)

White Rabbit Project - has the 3 original "Build Team" secondary hosts (Grant, Tory, Kari), produced by Netflix about 3 years ago, but doesn't appear to have gone beyond one series.

One show to check out for a laugh is "8 out of 10 cats does Countdown", on SBS a couple night per week.
It is a UK show, which has the comedy team from the show "8 out of 10 cats" (a comedy game show about statistics), doing the game-show "Countdown" (usually a serious game about words and numbers). It's been on for a few months now, and SBS have just started showing episodes of the original "8 out of 10 cats" on Tuesday nights as well... but I think their Countdown show is better.

Recently finished watching The Loudest Voice (starring Russell Crowe and Naomi Watts). It's about Roger Ailes, the filthy psychopath who turned Fox News into the horrid Goebbels power that it is today:mad:. The price the greedy Murdochs pay for letting this bully into their bed is all the p%#$ and s!@* stains all over the sheets that they'll never be able to cover up and it serves them right. There's now going to be a movie as well.

Arrowverse. I am not familiar with lore or stories. Dont read the comics or anything.

Green Arrow: The best of the shows but lack any heroes with actual super powers. The character portrays like a batman figure with lost parents fighting crime. Some things are not thought out with GA shooting an arrow in the middle of nothing and swinging away. What has the arrow hit?! Some of the fight scenes could have been better choroed.

Flash: Deals with more super powers and threats. Cgi could be better. Season four was very comical with a lot of humour. Toned down in season five with a better balance. GA is darker so they wanted this to be lighter in tone and more fun. Second best show.

Legends of Tomorrow: Time travel fun. More out there and unique as it visits different periods in time. Again cgi can be better. The boss fight at the end of season four with the totems is very surprising. Its a bit quirky but i like that.

Supergirl: Deals with a lot of space threats which i didnt know existed in lore. Cgi needs work like the other series. Its hard to create threats to rival supergirl.

Pros: fun tv shows, most of the real world translations work. The crossover between shows makes it feel like a bigger universe.

Cons: cgi needs work, fight scenes can be lacking where people just jump up after the main fight is done or stand around ready to be whacked. Some stupid things like arrow shooting flying fox arrows with nothing attached at the end. So its more like a swing..? The crossovers are hard to follow unless you watch in order but watching series by series can be disjointed. I watched part two in Arrow then part four in Legends etc as I watched Arrow first.

Overall passable and pleasant to watch ignoring some of the shoddy cgi scenes. Marvel tv shows were drawn out but were better.

The Arrowverse crossovers are good but trying to watch them in order is hard to actually do. One of the upcoming one's has some great cameo coming. I won't say who just in case you don't want it spoiled.

Watch DC Titans for a darker hero series, and is quite good. Doom Patrol is a spin off show for that too.

Watched Good Omens, The Boys, and now Disenchantment part 2. So far so good.

If you side with Team Iron Man then you'll love The Boys. But if you're more for Team Captain America then......it's best you decide.

I loved The Boys. Cannot wait for second season. Some recogniseable faces too. Being Team Iron Man or Team Cap to me makes little difference.

Just finished watching Season 4 of The Expanse. Not the best season but still pretty happy with it and glad it is still around. Interesting to see where things will go from here. Binged it all in 3 days so now the long wait again begins...

Dark season 1 and 2. It's a slow burn at first but it gets into all kind of nuttiness later on. Really looking forward to see how it all ends in season 3 next year.

Just finished watching Harley Quinn (voiced by Kaley Cuoco) and I can see now see where Margo Robbie drew her inspiration for Birds Of Prey. By the way, Poison Ivy is quite a scene stealer at times. If you like Daria (from Beavis and Butthead) then you'll like Ivy.

The last few months of SBS playing Xfiles every night (and the two movies), has finally paid off, with the new season episodes starting tonight, which should mean I finally get to see the final season, as it never played on free-to-air. We had the second last season (6 episodes) play on one of the networks, but they never ended up playing the final season of 10 episodes.
I read that it doesn't have a great ending, or even a proper ending, but after almost 30 years since I started watching the show, I'll finally get to see every episode soon.

The final episode was on Thursday, and it was a suitable ending. A fair bit was retconned, but that made the closure better. Some of the episodes in the final season was a little weird, and very little conspiracy or alien episodes.
The first episode was really confusing, trying to work out how much of the final episode of the previous season was just a vision, and what was not. I really wonder if it was originally planned as a vision when the second last season was being written and filmed, or if it was just a retcon after they got renewed for another season.
I think it is best to remain ended now. Anything more will just ruin it more.

Recently finished watching The Witcher and considering this series must contend with Game of Thrones comparisons it has forged an impressive path of it's own.
It's done this by putting more emphasis on the fantasy and less on the history-inspired intrigue. As a result the viewer receives a whopping amount of monsters and magic.

I've really been enjoying re-watching Star Trek Enterprise in the afternoons on channel 12 (10-Bold). It was such a shame that it was cancelled after four seasons, as it would have a lot of tie-ins and easter eggs with the original series.
It was also nice timing to have the Original Series episode "The Tholian Web" screening today on the same channel, just a couple days after the Enterprise episodes that were a sequel to it (the starship Defiant disappearing from the Tholian Web, being found in the Mirror Universe of the Enterprise series).

Not sure if people remember the 90's tv series Renegade. Damn, a laugh a minute & it's action not comedy. :D

The main character is framed for a crime he didn't commit. On the run from the Law, he goes from town to town to right the wrongs of those who gone bad. Throw in a few eye candy ladies for good, cheesy measure. If you're sober watching this, you need to grab a bottle of double strength Vodka quick fast!
