    Default Hey folkes

Well guess I should make one of these, Hi everyone up until now I've mainly posted over at TFW, but I've been aware of this place for awhile and have glanced over this forum from time to time to check on some more Aussie specific TF stuff, so I thought now would be as good a time as any to finally sign up! Anyway to say I'm a serious collector would be a lie, I'm one of those people who grew up on TFs as a kid, then sorta left it behind and was drawn back by the new movies. And too be honest I'm not even that keen on the movieverse but it did spark my interest in TFs again as a whole which I am very grateful for!

My collection is pretty piss poor right now I have a couple old intact Beast Wars figures (The crowning jewel being a Transmetal (voyager?) Megatron still in surprisingly good condition). And I used to have a whole stack of G1 toys when I was young, however when I moved over to Sydney from Perth my mum decided to give them away to a couple of kids I knew at the time, a thing I am now regretting majorly since I had quite the little collection going at the time and I'm sure they are now sitting in some trash heap after all these years.

However you gotta start somewhere right? The last year or so I've been collecting mainly Universe/Henkei stuff (now Generations/RtS) and just recenetly I've taken a liking to the Powercore Combiners line. I'm a massive Decepticon fanboy always have been since I was a kid, if I estimate now I would say 70% of my budding collection is Decepticon/Predacon, it's not that I don't like the Autobots but I just find the Decepticons that much cooler.

Anyway enough ramblings from me, look forward to getting to know you all!

    Greetings and Welcome to OZformers!

I, like many others, feel your pain dude in regards to G1 figures lost to the past - It sucks but it's best to look to the future.
I too kind of let Transformers slip by the way side after Beast Wars, that was indeed rekindled when a friend of many years reawakened that love and the pair of us have been poorer ever since.

One's collection is never piss poor dude, whether it's comprised of 2 or 2000 makes no difference so long as you enjoy what you've got and enjoy adding to them, you've got to start somewhere.
We here love to puruse collections both great and small, so please do consider posting some pics of your collection Fonecrusher as either Liegeprime or I will nag you otherwise!

Though I'm not a huge fan of the PCCs, I'm a big Classicsverse (Classics, Henkei, Universe 2.0 etc.) fan! as they were the figures that got me heavily into collecting but I'm also a Huge Beast Wars fan too!
I am very glad to see a fellow Decepticon/Predacon Warrior joining the ranks, as I too share a greater fondness for the Evil guys!
They're just so much better, though not at winning apparently , as you could probably tell from my Sig pic.

Welcome to the boards mate - Oh and by the way:

G'day and welcome mate. A number of us loved the show as kids and slowly drifted away. Your collection may seem small to you, but what counts is they are special to you. Post up some pictures when you find the time, we always like to look at others collections.

I agree with the movieverse figures. Though I don't like em, the movies renewed my interest in Transformers.

Welcome aboard Fonecrusher. Whats the story behind the name?

TRANSFORMERS: DEICIDE -- The Beast Wars 20th Anniversary Comic Book series that could have been...
TRANSFORMERS: UNITY -- the BotCon 2016 Comic Book that should have been...

    Welcome to the Board FoneCrusher,

like the others said, there is no such thing as a piss poor collection, there is just an excellent collection that is looking forward to swelling it's evil ranks.

I feel for you having to give away a bunch of your old G1 stuf, I never had to and can't imagine how devastating it would have been.

I actually try to keep my collection about 50/50, just a thing I have.

While I'm not in love with the spidery look of a lot of the movie designs, some of the engineering in the movie figures is fantastic. coming to mind is Voyager Starscream from Rotf, both leader primes just to start.

Don't worry about having a small collection now, being on this board has helped me justify a dozen purchases that I may have otherwise put off, or just not known even existed. of course as your collection grows your wallet shrinks

    welcome to the board

Quality of collection is always better than quantity. Buying everything isn't as interesting (to others) as selective buying and why you wanted each and every toy in your collection. So people should never feel embarrassed or intimidated by having a small or new collection.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yeah to be honest it was actualy quite daunting at first getting back into collecting, mainly because there are just so many damn lines out there now, when I started last year I spent ages looking around for the default or "standard" TF toyline... Then I realized there was no such thing! When I was a kid it was just G1 and that was it, same with BW when that came around. Now we have Movieverse, Animated, PPC, Henkei, Generations, RiD, Armada, Binaltech/Alternity etc.

However after about a year I've got my head around things and know which lines I like and which I don't, and I've come to appreciate the massive variety now available, since it gives us collectors so much freedom is choosing what to get.

Thanks dude, nice to see I'm not the only Decepticon loyalist around, all the kids these days they are growing up damned Autobot fans! We Decepticons need to keep spreading the word! And yeah PCCs are a kinda love 'em or hate 'em toy, I should know because I thought they were pretty bad the first time I saw them (my initial reaction was scout class TFs with lame minicons for the price of a deluxe, are you serious?) but they've quickly grown on me and some of the figures are actually pretty cool, not to mention the minicon/combiner capabilities they all have.

And btw I absolutely love that line from Ravage in BW! Definitely one of my favourite episodes and part of the beauty of BW was the links it created with G1.

Cheers buddy, I see your from Penrith as well, I didn't think we had TF fans out this way since the offerings we got around here are pretty barren!

Nothing really lol, I got the same username on TFW mainly because I just couldn't think of any decent names at the time. It was just a little play on the name Bonecrusher.

Thanks mate, yeah I don't mind the movie designs I got a few figures like Barricade, Ratchet, Mixmaster (my personal favourite movie figure) and Soundwave, but I just prefer the more traditional stuff overall.
