Default The red-headed stepchild of TFs to be released on DVD

Okay, not really TFs news, but with Hasbro owning both properties, and quite a few Gobot names and homages now used in Transformers, the Gobots (Machine Men in Australia) are like a relative by marriage...

Aaaanyway.... The original Gobots 5-part Mini-series is being released on DVD in America May 17th for US$15, completely remastered.

(topic title isn't aimed at Irish, but at the Gobots)

    Excellent!

I wonder whether it'll get an Australian release (as Machine Men)?

Madman might acquire the distribution rights to this, curious though - I wonder why Hasbro hasn't mentioned a thing about this?

The mini-series that launched a legend! Newly remastered from original film elements, Challenge of the GoBots has NEVER looked this good. See example below.
Is there such thing as a May Fools Joke?

Very interesting.....I wouldn't mind getting this set or the whole series (if it eventually gets over here).

I always borrowed the Gobots VHS cartoons from my local Video Store as a kid--only after the Transformers videos were borrowed by someone else

It just reminds me of that episode from South Park where they advertise the 'digitally-enhanced re-release of the very first pilot episode of South Park':

    I mean... seriously:

Is it that hard to believe that there would be such a noticeable difference in the remastered version?

Afterall, the 1986 TF Movie was remastered for it's dvd release and there's a noticeable difference in picture quality.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

That's kinda cool. Good to see something is being done for the old Machine Men/Gobots line
