My debit account has nothing in it, luckily haha! (Yay for secondary accounts!)
If they got my card details though I'm potentially stuffed and may have to visit a branch though >_<

EDIT: I mean it had thousands of dollars in it, and I will be sueing sony for it all back :P

I spoke to my credit card company. They said wait and see if any wierd charges appear and then they will cancel my card and I wont have to pay those charges to save the hassle of cancelling my card and getting a new one.

I thought that was nice of them

im finding it funny how many people are worried about their credit card detials compared to the fact, if you did put in the correct details, that they infact have your:
    birthdate
    Name
    Address
    Postcode etc

    hello identity theft?

Best bet is to change all your passwords for anything you use on the internet, that will at least limit further issues and should be regular practise anyway.

It is sad what has happened, but unfortunately these sorts of things are required in order for action to be taken - Hell, I'd be willing to bet that Sony had no idea of the flaw in their security until it was obviously exploited.
What I hope is that Sony and other business learn from this and incorporate better preventative measures as opposed to reactive ones, spend a little bit more money now and it could save you Millions down the track.

    Now,
I for one believe this is more likely to be the work of a Professional Digital Espionage group rather than 'Hack-tivists' and my reason for thinking that is this:

Look at the service that was brought down, look at what new 3rd Party service was about to begin on it, look at what was intended with this service - Now, look at the timing and who the main competitor is.
3 Major Companies in partnership were set to create a Socio-Technological and Financial storm by the end of this year and all are rivals to another company who today released a Media Statement designed to create a publicly perceived contrast between it and it's main competitor.

Created separate topic to highlight the importance of this issue being noticed by as many PSN users as possible - check or cancel your credit card, and change any passwords that are the same as the one you used on PSN.

Yeah, I read about this in a local Taiwanese newspaper... (and yet no story here about the Royal Wedding, heheheh - clearly this is more important news here ). Apparently a lot of Taiwanese gamers are angry and defecting over to Wii or XBox.

Anyway, perhaps another advantage of playing with my toys over games.
