I don't usually post anything here, but figured my biggest ever acquisition might amuse people....

The Calamvale BigW were kind enough to let me have their display, and it arrived today (had to borrow a trailer and friend to help me).

I only found out this morning that it was only a one-part trailer display at this particular BigW (because it is a smaller store), but it is probably better this way, as it can leave me with enough floor space for the table I have in there (which is to the left, behind the shelving).

Since each part is the width of a pallet, I had to disassemble them to get them into the house, and then reassemble them. I still have to fix up a few parts and reinforce it with tape on areas that are load-bearing. I also need to rig up something for them to sit on, because they are designed to be on wooden pallets, which is why the skirting on the trailer part is covering up part of the bottom shelves.
Once that is all done, I'll have all the TF3 toys in it, and on it, and maybe later, I'll look at creating a third (central) cardboard section to hold/hide empty toy boxes and stuff which would make the trailer section look longer.

That truly is awesome. I don't think I would have the room to put that anywhere at my place lol.

This week I have picked up

RTS Grappel (my fourth... three have been for custom jobs)
    DOTM commander Blackout
RTS Strafe (his rub sign refused to work until I held him near the oven while I was cooking tea. his wings are kind of a giveaway about his allegiance)
HFTD Tomahawk (going to try make my own Vortex. I dont like the head on the DOTM version)
HFTD Axor (I must be one of the few who like his colours)
    PCC Leadfoot
    and another Botcon Autotrooper

and I also swapped a bunch of superhero figures with my six-year-old son for his busted animated Sentinel Prime (for a ... wait for it.... custom job)

One of the stores said that to me, but the other stores were destroying them in their cardboard compactors...
I cant imagine Hasbro would want them back either, because they wouldn't be in a good enough condition to re-issue to other stores, and they have 'BigW' all over them (not stickers either - actually part of the printed exterior image), so no other chain would want to use them.

I think that store might have just said that, to avoid any begging from an interested person if they said it was to be destroyed.

I worked for target in the toy department about 4 - 5 years ago now and this is true and display items would just be crushed in the cardboard compactor out the back. They never asked for any displays back, We had a cool Playmobile display diorama in a plastic display case that when it was over we put in the bin out the back.
But a lot of the time the posters and displays would just go to the staff there, a mate of mine has all the display items from the first movie, posters cut out etc.
