Default Dearly Departed or what do I do with them?

My girlfriend has often asked me what I intend to do with my collection when I pass on. I have no idea and was wondering if anyone else has thought about this?
Sorry for the morbid topic but it's something I can't wrap my brain around.

Buried with them like a giant egyptian mausoleum, so that I can take them to the afterlife with me.
And so that the vultures don't go picking over my 'corpse' of a collection.

Seriously though, I have left instructions with relatives and friends as to what happens to collection, so maybe have detailed instructions in your will as you would for any of your other assets... as in who they go to, or how they are sold so that your family gets an asset they can better use (money).

There's that or have them passed down to many generations (Family Heirloom)

This is very much the idea that I had always considered, but then...

    I've also considered this also.

My kids have great fun 'shopping' for what toys of mine they'll take when I kick the bucket.

funny this conversation popped up last week between my kids (6 and 5) as they happily talked about inheriting the XBOX360 from me once I'd passed on - to which my wife said 'No. It goes to me first' so they'd have to wait until she died before they could have it - but no, mummy dying was such a horrible idea they didn't ever want that to happen.

    go me.

I'll take donations of Thundercracker toys and we'll melt them into a blue coffin for you.

I would do that. I can even think of a good location on where I will set up my tomb in order to keep away grave robbers. Hopefully some evolved Ape archaeologist will find it in the future and put me and my collection in a Museum for everyone to see and enjoy. Everything would be vacuum sealed of course, otherwise the plastic would not last.

Who knows, maybe the finding could start a religion or something

Some great ideas. Might donate them to a museum or pass them onto OTCA as I know they will be well loved.
Families not really a consideration as I intend to have them buried with me when I go. Who's laughing now?
