Default The story that made my day.....

I was so angry when I read about this happening to this poor guy and the bastard who took advantage of him.....

    http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/m...35b4338a5.html

Hoped for a happy ending but didn't foresee it so really happy when I read this:

I hope the bastard gets his just desserts in jail. Great story about fans rallying from across the globe for this guy and what class for him to pay it forward by donating stuff to charity.

    Restores my faith in humanity

Thank you for bringing that to our attention TPN , though I honestly can't stand Superman...
As a fellow collector though, I can only imagine what the theft would've felt like; but how awesome it is to hear that the mongrel was caught and arrested and this bloke's collection was returned to him!

What is worse is that the assailant clearly preferred to pick on the old and the disabled - I can't stand those sorts of Ball-less, Sack's of S***!
I sincerely hope he gets to spend many a sleepless night with a Cell mate named Sheniqua.

Yeah I'm not as big a Superman fan as I was growing up, but I would've been devastated if my collection was stolen.

The fact this mongrel preyed on a mentally disabled man who simply idolised Superman and gets by on a pension and working part-time at Maccas makes me

Just loving the huge love by collectors round the world rallying to organise donations etc makes me glad the community spirit of collectors (not matter what you collect!)

To steal from a handicapped person is the lowest of lows. I'm glad they got him.

Wow, what a story, the same guy also stole from an elderly man which is how he got caught.

the dismay and sadness I felt reading the first story were quickly replaced with a great sense of relief and satisfaction at reading the second.
followed by reading that Meyer who has recieved a tonne of extra memorabilia form fans around the world trying to replace his collection for him is now donating the extra stuff as a way for him to make a difference and give something back after his original collection was returned by the police.

    a true humble gentleman.

Like everyone else here the first story rips at your heart but the second makes it all better. Not only the fact that they caught the scum but the generosity of the fellow collectors.

I hope the wardens at the prison let the other inmates know that this is a guy who swindles from the elderly and handicapped. I'm sure his fellow inmates will great him with open arms.

I read about the theft last week. Glad to see there was a happy outcome.
