Agreed. Personality and design wise, the turtles might actually work. Shame about Megan Fox though.

I feel much the same way, although Caucasian Shredder needs a little more "Oroku Saki" - Definitely a mis-Casting there but overall I'm looking forward to checking it out.

This looks good. I'm not on the Megan Fox hate wagon as she's never slighted me personally and I don't buy into the gossip publications, so this is not a deciding factor for me if I see the film or not. I'm a fan of TMNT pure and simple. IMO she's still hot and I wouldn't kick her out of bed for farting

They look too fat/chunky/large... which doesn't look right when they are moving so fast. They aren't the right size and build to be so agile and dexterous.

It is likely to spawn sequels, so Megan had better watch what she says publicly if she wants to keep the role (which will be harder to replace than the previous April O-Neil, who was a "nobody" actress, making it easier to replace her).

It's a decent trailer but then again, all Bay movies seem to have good trailers. Overall I did not see anything 'new' here and they didn't have Fox delivering any lines for a reason - You won't have that benefit once you are watching the film

    The noses are freaky though.

Can someone explain the anti Fox thing? Can't be because she is a crap actor, pretty much everyone in these bay-esc films are

I don't think there is a huge anti-Fox thing... but she was probably the weakest (least important character) element in the first two movies (and wasn't too animated with her acting - she was just there as eye candy).
As you could see in the TMNT trailer, she is like a stunned fish, just standing there, staring in all her scenes.... which seemed to be her primary role in TFs. (probably just told by the Director, "just stand there, keep quiet, and look pretty" )

It's also mostly the way she portrays herself as an egotistical celebrity (even biting the hand that fed her, giving her that celebrity status through the TFs movie). There are a lot of movie stars that are humble and charitable, and there are a lot who are fully up themselves, chasing cameras, snubbing their fans at public events and resorting to plastic surgery to regain "beauty" that they think they are already losing.

That's her public image to everyone, but for some members here though, it was our personal interaction with her that we are usually referring to. At the 2007 movie premiere in Sydney, she was the cast/crew member who wanted to spend her time with the media at both movie and media events, while Bay and Taylor were keen to interact with the fans.

Dark knight bank guy as The Shredder

He sure looks evil and bad ass enough in most of his movies, but he is no oroku saki

not a complaint, just curious to see where this would go. actually quite excited

would love to see some of the comic characters appear in the sequals

I'll give Fox credit for one thing -- at least she does see herself as an actress and does try to act. I'm not saying that she succeeds terribly well, but she does view acting as her career. This is different from say Rosie Huntington Whiteley who's primary career is modelling, and her acting stint was just something on the side. RHW's "acting" makes Fox look good.

As for the trailer, I'll admit it does look fantastic. But we all know that Bay is really good at creating beautiful trailers that suck audiences into cinemas and pump heaps of money... but it doesn't necessarily mean the films are any good. One of my Year 8 students today referred to the Transformers films as the highest grossing bad movies of all time. I'm not necessarily saying that TMNT will be good or bad... but it's hard to judge a Bay film by its trailer.

IMO the look of the Turtles themselves remind me of the 1989 computer game (especially the Famicom/NES version) with the longer legs and rounder shells.

It's not a Michael Bay film
