The Slipstream thing is true and I'd forgotten that. And the second bit might be right too - maybe we're need to split this into two different things:

1. Characters not mired in G1 who have made a mark, like Razorbeast.
2. Characters not mired in G1 who have started their own legacy, like Bulkhead.

(As Paulbot knows, the point of this originally was to see which popular characters and Transformer archetypes aren't G1-based, and who maybe the franchise should continue to focus on and develop rather than... like... Bumblebee.)
