So does the Takara version have a white runway/deck?

I prefer the Hasbro version. Black landing strip breaks it up & you'll still have some money in your pocket.

You guys got me excited! I thought Metroplex had heeded the call of the last Prime and made an appearance in stores!

But yeah, I agree with Sinnertwin, the darker legs breaks up the white. Maybe some additional, personalised paint apps might also be on the cards to bring out some of the detail in the mold and to break up that white even further!

I thought it did. Which looks crap IMO. Prefer the black runway. I'm glad I have the HK ACG-Con version as thats got all the Takara chrome and 2xguns etc but it has the black runway like the Hasbro version.

I also agree that the blacks look much better and the standard all white TakTOM version looks too bland. But I can understand the reasoning behind it as it does make that version of Metroplex look more similar to G1 Metroplex; although G1 Metroplex wasn't entirely "pearly" white and did have some greyish off-white parts to break up the bright whites. But still, colourwise Hasbro's Gen. Metroplex has done well in using blacks to break up all that white. Also Gen. Metroplex's leg platforms really do feel more like runways/roads, not just in colour but also the way it's sculpted. So IMO the blacks suit it much better.

If I could take the second gun and hips and thighs from the takara version and have it on the hasbro version I'd be a happy camper.

possibly a chance you see a KO gun on sale on ebay down the road.
All you need to do is paint the chrome face with not so chrome silver.

Seeing as though in all likelihood I'm rarely, if ever, going to display my TakTom iteration in either of his Alt modes the issue of "excess white" in their case is null to me, because he will be in Bot mode semi-permanently and in-that he trumps the Hasbro version hands-down as far more is done to break up the monotony of blandness.

Interestingly enough, the pics we've be referring to aren't even inclusive of the stickers that the TakTom version will be coming with - Thanks to TFW2005 however, we can now see what that's to be like:
