Oh I'll be definitely keeping that in the back of my mind, don't you worry dude.

Someone has posted a video review over at seibertron

Insanely huge and wobbly. Looks fantastic but I'd only buy him at a really, really, really good, good, price because I don't have the space for it. Maybe if I won him in a competition.

However, if Hasbro was to release a smaller version without lights and sound I'd snap it up.

I was disappointed after seeing how flimsy he is. Not quite the brick that Fort Max is.

I see Amazon is taking preorders for Metroplex now. He's $165 shipped.

You reckon that's worth it? How much is Metroplex slated to sell for here?
Also... has anyone else started reserving shelf space for Metroplex?

lol, love the picture. Much more appropriate space for him than my space on the floor next to Fort Max. My shelves are too small for Max and Metroplex.

After seeing the review of him I want to get him as cheap as possible cause it really soured me on him. I canceled my preorder of the Takara version I've got a Hasbro normal version on order at Amazon now. I don't want to have to pick one up at retail cause I'm guessing he will be in short supply. He's still cool, but not Fort Max cool. And stickers, really, Hasbro ain't got enough cash to tampo him.

Knee joints take a lot of strain in robot mode, as it keeps wanting to lean forward... and if the knee joints wear down over time from transforming it or moving it, the toy will not be able to stand up straight.

Can some one tell me (or point me to another thread) why I want to wait longer and pay more for the Japanese release?? A side by side comparison in this thread would be good with all the subtle differences listed for each (US vs Jap). Thanks Guys

    Because...
    (a) You really want a second gun and you're willing to pay however much the difference is for that gun? (some people are paying for Platinum Edition Ultra Magnus primarily because they like the hammer... IMPO $39's a tad much to pay for a hammer!)
    (b) You really dig the voice chip gimmick (which would make more sense if you understood Japanese).
    (c) The subtle cosmetic differences matter to you enough to pay more for the TakTOM version.

Personally none of these things bother me, I'm just gonna get whichever version is easiest (and hopefully cheapest) for me to get. I'm gonna be overseas in late Sept~early Oct, so if I happen to find this toy on my travels, I'll grab it; doesn't matter which version. If I find it locally, I'll grab that.

Though $165 for the toy at Amazon incl. shipping sounds good. That's why I'm asking if anyone remembers/knows how much this toy is slated to sell for here... if it's gonna be cheaper then, I can wait for a local release. But if it's gonna cost the same or more, then I might as well preorder. Though I'm kinda reluctant to preorder until after I come home from my trip in case I do find it in my travels. What's Amazon's policy with cancelling preorders? I suppose worst case scenario if I do end up with a second Metroplex I could just sell it off to another local member -- I'm sure someone would want to buy it off me. Hhmmm... <indecision>
