Forgot about that topic. I even posted in it too Like I said, I'm going to be all over this so I probably got a bit excited when I saw the updated news with Amazon listing

I didn't have much luck with Transformers Vault from The Book Depository. The corners were all squashed in the thin cardboard envelope they shipped it in. Probably would have asked for an exchange but this wasn't the first time so any replacement could have turned up the same. Luckily, I bought a second copy when they showed up locally at Target stores

I have a feeling that the book depository is owned by Amazon..

Either way I've had things shipped from the Book depository in the past that were damaged to the point where I asked for a refund. they refunded all 3 damaged books but their condition was so bad I gave them away.

they are better now using harder cardboard envelopes, but still, something like this I'd be pretty careful ordering from a place like that. This is why I buy all my Transformers Trades locally in Australia, it's more expensive but they don't get hammered in shipping.

I've been waiting this book for ages but everytime I check the blog there's been no update, so this was a surprise.

Amazon can be okay for books if it's just one thing (or everything's the same size) but when the mix items there seems to be trouble. Those original IDW massive hardcovers arrived in pretty nasty condition from Amazon. Nearly everything I've ordered from Bookdepository on the otherhand (scores of tpbs and several hardcover books) has been fine, including the IDW 30th Anniversary hardcover, the IDW Collection hardcovers, a couple of Marvel Omnibuses and the TF Vault book.

I'll be using book depository for mine. Only issue I've had is when it is pouring rain when the books arrive in the letterbox or doorstep. Thin cardboard does squat against that!

Just wanted to bring this topic back to the surface in case there were people wanting this and had perhaps forgotten. It will be released in a bit over a month and Amazon have it for around $45 US shipped. Link Here

For those of you that are concerned about it getting damaged during transit, paying the extras $3.49 US to get it gift wrapped might be worth a shot (I'm going to) should at least prevent it from getting scuffed up along the way

Thanks for the bump, I'd forgotten I read about this over a year ago. Very excited that it's finally about to be released

Thanks for the suggestion. Just changed mine to include the gift wrap as well.

I've not had any issues thus far with Amazon's packaging (Touches wood), however I will keep the "Gift Wrap" suggestion in mind when it gets a little closer to release - Really looking forward to having this tome within my grasp.

I shipped a fragile disney traditions item around the start of the year, I purchased some construct-bots at the same time to pad out the box so it wouldn't ratle around much.

I also marked the Disney statue as a gift, without wrapping. there was no extra cost.

I recieved the box and as well as being tightly packed there were air pocket bags added to stop stuff shifting around.

I don't know if it was due to the fact it was a statue and amazon was taking extra care, or if I marked it as a gift which caused them to take extra care.

marking something as a gift doesn't have an extra charge.

    Thought that might help.
