Also, I read one review in which the figure broke in multiple spots (specifically the tail and the bee claw) but haven't really been able to figure out if that is a common problem or not.

This literally causes the figure to be unable to support its own weight (Due to the heavy tail & claws) and becomes quite a pain to statically display as it topples into a heap.

Other than that, and the occasional Bee/Spring Claw mechanism issue, it's absolutely brilliant.
I had one of these when I was a kid. Sadly sold it long ago. But when I did have him, he was amazing. Never had any issues and I played with it to no end, heck he was even thrown around and beat down. Nothing ever broke or became loose, surprisingly :P

I have the toy, (BW scorpy) and it is indeed a fun toy. Mine's second hand though, so the bee claw mechanism is kinda too springy IMO, it launches on its own at time. fixed that with some Blutack. Ive kept my figure mostly in Scorpion mode but yeah he can be a little back heavy when in bot mode due to the tail.

You've been lucky then! - I've had about 2 or 3 and they've all started to go loose fairly quickly, albeit like Liege mine have also been 2nd Hand.

That'd be both amazing & bewildering!

Is there a site that sells replacement parts for Masterpiece figures? I vaguely remember finding such a site years ago. I need a part for my MP Thundercracker

    TakaraTOMY or Hasbro MP Thundercracker?

If it's TakaraTOMY MP Thundercracker and you bought it in Japan and if you can speak Japanese or have a friend who can speak Japanese, then you can contact TakaraTOMY to get a replacement part. If you purchased it out of Japan, then contact the seller who should be able to source parts for you from TakaraTOMY. If it's a Hasbro MP Thundercracker... I don't know, I've never needed to source replacement parts for a Hasbro MP TF before; maybe contact Hasbro Australia's office in Epping? <shrug>
