Running out of options... as I've been burnt by Telstra and Optus in the past, and am not happy with recent events with Vodafone.

    There's always Virgin

But there is a massive lack of options now, and it's like politicians, you have to choose the least worst of the bunch

Virgin is basically Optus guys. They use the Optus network. Their call center is a floor below where I sit.

That is correct - Virgin is Optus. The up side is that Virgin seems to have much better prices and better customer services than 'raw' Optus but you are still running through their lines so reception issues and the like will be the same.

Umm, I've been with Optus for the past 5 years and have never encountered reception or network issues in metro Sydney

I'd have to say the same although for me it's 10 years and the Illawarra - The only time I've ever had bad reception in my travels is when I'm basically under a rock, I've also found that dealing with Optus Customer & Tech Support has been quite pleasant too - albeit for the occasional thick accent.

I don't think he was saying there was a significant problem, or a problem at all... he was just saying that it would be the same 'quality' as Optus.

You sit overseas? Virgin's call center isn't in Australia.
