I can relate to this. I have gone to a few Interviews in the past for postions that sounded awesome and was denied for the same reason - Too qualified or too experienced for the position.
I was like WTF?
However I later found out through a 3rd party that the whole interview process in one of those companies was a sham to satisfy HR. In reality the interviewer was already pre-set to hire a relative so he needed to make it look 'professional' by holding out interviews and choosing the 'most suitable' candidate.
