Default Long Time collector, new board member!

    Hi there,

just joined the board today, the second board I've joined in my life. The first was Don Murphy's leading up to the first live action Transformers Film. I tend to get most of my transformers news from seibertron.com, but I sometimes check past here to see if I've missed anything.

I've been collecting Transformers since my 5th Christmas (1984) when I got a Skids and a Thundercracker. I still have them, mostly.

I took a bit of a hiatus towards the end of Generation 1 up untill the late 90's I didn't dig beastwars untill a couple years ago when a mate gave me a lend of his dvd's, now I can apreciate it for what it was, definitely good storytelling, still not a fan of the figures. I guess you could say I am G1 centric, though the movies of late have cost me a lot of money.

I started getting back into collecting them when the alternators line came out, and haven't looked back, love the classics/Generations G1 inspired figures. and I have all the masterpieces bar MP-02.

I will post some pictures in the future, all of my G1/G2 originals are at my parents place in Victoria.

I am very excited about a lot of the upcoming generations line and masterpiece Rodimus.

Other interests include Baseball, playing drums and of course spending time with my lovely wife. Her Christmas present to me last year was a cabinet to display my transformers in!!

Seriously considering going to botcon next year.

Not making any promises to post much as now I don't think I've got much more to say
Just thought it was time to be active rather than passive in regards to transformers message boards.

    Cheers.

    G'day and welcome aboard matey.

I too never got into the BW figures, but they were cooly engineered. But I watched the show back in the day, and still watch it.

I got back into TF when Classics/MP came out, they were/are awesome. And the new ones are shaping up to be really awesome releases and making my wallet lighter

On the drumming side, you have a band/into metal?

Bar Weep Gwar-Nar Weep Nini Bon Right back at ya.
I am going to organize some photos, may take a week or so to get figures set up etc, we only recently moved and while most of them are unpacked they are largely just placed in vehicle form.

The favorite character question, already? we've only just met

I've always had a soft spot for the original skids, being my very first, loved alternators skids.

But my favorite of all time would have to be Jazz, such a cool cat, and yes I nearly choked at the end of the first movie. I am super excited about the new generations jazz on the way:

    Thanks for the welcome,
I love comparing the changes in design and engineering between an original G1 character and a modern classics figure.

With regards to drumming, been doing it for years, not currently in a band, haven't done that since early years at uni. personal preferences are for Funk, Rock, Jazz, and movie scores. though metal's not at the top of my list I do occasionally really get into a bit.

On the subject of music is there a favorite bands thread?

Awesome, Looking forward to seeing your collection once you've got the free time to set it all up.

Skids and Jazz huh? admittedly I never thought a whole lot about Skids, though I've grown to like him a bit more since reading a couple of issues of the Marvel G1 Comics, Jazz I always thought was cool for having whopping great big speakers come out of his sides to blast Music!.

Indeed, the new figure looks pretty sweet and I too really want it, it is sort of annoying though that they've already produced the Legends Class Jazz figure only to release this one but meh, they're both pretty awesome.

Ah!, My favourite character would have to be G1 Soundwave, closely followed by Cyclonus, but as an avid Beast Wars fan too my other favourites would be Tarantulas and Dinobot.

On the subject of a Favourite Bands thread, I'm not sure if there is one or not, there could be one buried somewhere , maybe one of the more senior members could enlighten us?

You can start one if you can't find one that isn't recent enough, or at all.
