Fear them? Japanese made Western toilets are like super advanced future toilets, the traditonal kind are scary though, even if they do make more sense given human physiology.

Osaka for first 3 or 4 days (see osaka castle, go to den den town)

Then Tokyo for about 2 weeks (Go to akihabara, go to shibuya, go to kyoto, go to ikebukuro, go to odaiba)

are there any other parts of japan that are worth staying at for a few days between hiroshima and tokyo for either Transformers, sightseeing, cultural stuff?

also reviews of hotels or airlines would be helpful too so feel free to post those
I rather liked Hiroshima as a contrast to Tokyo, perhaps because it is a much smaller city it had a more relaxed vibe. You should go to the peace memorial park with the A bomb dome at what was Hirsohima's ground zero, the museum there is a sombering experience but worth it.

It's also right next to the centre of town, where a number of stores selling TF's and other things can be found if you search.

Also Himeji is between Osaka and Hirsohima, and worth a one day look (you probably don't need to stay there though, just drop by on the way up or down).
