Default Botcon 2010 theme: Generation 2 - Redux (figures revealed)

Still no registration, but the theme has been confirmed as Generation Two.

And a picture of the first exclusive toy has been released: Universe Inferno painted as Autobot Spark (better known to us in Australia as Pyro).

    See the picture here http://www.botcon.com/BotCon10/

From 1984 to 2006, Earth was the biggest, baddest battlefield of the Great War. But after the Rebirth, Galvatron and the Nebulan Lord Zarak beat it, takin' the fight to Nebulos and other civilized worlds beyond. Sure 'nuff, Optimus Prime and the rest were right on their afterburners, leaving only a skeleton crew to man Autobot City against future Decepticons attacks.

As we fought across space a new generation of Transformers arose on Earth, boosted by experimental human and Nebulan science and given the spark of life through technology reverse-engineered from Vector Sgima. Ol' Terra Firma
was home to a whole new "Second Generation" led by an Autobot who sees this planet not only as a place to defend, but as the place he considers home!

While things were pretty peaceful for a time, we all know that can only last for so long. And now, through the magic of the Cybernet space cube, the BotCon enhanced stories of the Transformers...Generation 2: Redux!
From the description and the information so far it sounds like it might just be the new Generation Two characters being homaged (rather than the G2 repaints of the originals) but we'll have to wait and see.

I think Pyro/Spark looks pretty cool.

Maybe BotCon Skyquake last year was very popular (I know I loved it) and inspired this?

Wow! A Pyro/Spark without Gold Plastic Syndrome. I shall be buying him. (And quite possibly the rest, too.)

Surprised at how well the Inferno mould translates to Spark/Pyro. I'm keen to see how the robot mode looks, to see how well it keeps the colours in the right places to still resemble Pyro.

Was never a fan of the Universe Inferno mould, mostly because of the blocky looking robot mode, so if they can pull it off (the robot mode colouring) to distract the eye, I'd be quite happy as well.

With this year's theme and the Wreckers comic both featuring that era of TFs, its no wonder I didn't have a chance on a recent Clench auction (the last one I'm missing from that year's Euro TFs). A loose figure (no packaging) wouldn't have gone more than US$100-150 before this year, but last week sold for over US$300!

Those planning to get non-attendee sets, may have to jump fast on these, if the hype builds on this set/theme.

I usually by a boxed set and a loose set. I suppose this year no different - I'm excited about g2. You can save quite a bit buying them on the member discount. The hassle for me is losing money on the deal after shipping, after ebay and paypal fees, by reselling the set (and credit card interest until it is sold, because they always sell out way before actually shipping). So if there is anyone genuinely interested, I'm sure we can work something out.
On the lookout for MISB Headmaster Highbrow, Takara or Hasbro. I'm sure I could make you a sweet deal!
