Not much left of the race now.
And I must say, it has been absolutley friggin cold all weekend.
What an awesome race it was... I sat in front of my TV all day and was rather smashed by the time the win was taken, but I enjoyed every minute of it .. Alot of spills and thrills and even alot of close calls with walls and other cars all made for some exciting racing indeed ... I really want to actually attend one year in the future ...
1st: Will Davison and Garth Tander 2009 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 Winners
2nd: Team BOC Jason Richards and Cameron McConville
3rd: Garry Rogers Motorsport Michael Caruos and Lee Holdsworth
Pretty good race, not as many big accidents this year, which is good. (Im all for minor bingles and wall hits, but never like seeing complete wrecks)
Loved seeing winterbottom get set alight, he should have been suspended for the race after that accident he caused on Saturday.
Lowndes was unlucky when his clutch died, but also lucky that Steven Richards is such a good driver that stopped the two of them having a good touch up in Pit lane early on.
9/10 cars in the top ten were Holdens, seems the Fords didnt have the set-ups to manage the changing conditions.

True, there were not too many spills, some close when they were on slicks and it was wet, they were sliding all over the place.
There was a minor accident with the V8 Utes before the big race, locked up around the first corner bounced off one wall and into the other, and I had a perfect view of it.
Aside from the freezing weather, it was a great weekend.
If anyone enjoys camping, drinking, and V8 Racing, I'd highly recommend going. It is more of a family thing now with the bigger police presence, which I like because there is less problems with people causing s***.
Another year, another Bathurst.
I'll be there for the 4th time in a row, heading up for a week this time. Head up Tuesday morning, leave following Monday morning.
So to find something to do on the days before the races start, I will be looking around the town, hunting for Transformers. Up on the mountain, I will be drunk and probably playing WFC on DS, or reading. Watch tv too
And I will have internet access as well, father in law is bringing his laptop and our old broadband stick.
Should make for a great week.
And a much earned break for the pair of you I suspect.
Sounds like it is going to be a good trip this year, I was actually gonna suggest that you go hunting around the Bathurst area.
As for motoring allegiances, Go Lio Convoy!![]()

when will other manufactures come in, is it 2011?
There have been rumours ever since Chrysler/Valiant left the competition and Nissan Skylines were ruled out.
I honestly don't think we are likely to see a third manufacturer enter the competition any time soon, for many reasons but mostly the fact that Holden and Ford make too damn much money out of it to let anyone else in.
Unfortunately, the Bathurst Annual has become far too commercialised and is no longer accessible to the 'everyday rev-head', there are a number of lower tear competitions and club runs that utilise the Mount Panorama circuit but it's no longer like the era that Brocky started in - that's for sure.

I think this is the first year in ages where there are likely to be only half a dozen true contenders. Not saying that a darkhorse wont win it (its always possible at Bathurst) but there are 2-3 teams from each manufacturer that just have more money and more equipment capable of winning it.
