    Glad to hear dude.
I've never understood why some people cry and complain when they get 95%+ on a test.
You should've seen the amount of girls in my grade that were in a total state of break down when they got 99% on 3 out of 5 of their tests for the HSC... I'd never felt so much anger towards a person for such a trivial reason before.

I got 95% in Maths, I wasn't suprised I got that high, but I wasn't gonna cry that I missed 5% Most of my other scores were pretty average anyway

Looks like I will have a collection room very soon. The offer I made on an apartment was accepted.

Depends on how close they were to a HD- the problem is that it can sometimes be like being pipped at the post. Like last semester when I JUST missed out on a HD heh

Some just very high expectations. I know an honor student who had 96 and most of the colleagues had 99 and just devastated about it.

It just depend on background, family history, school, etc.

I never heard of being a "C" student is good enough until I came here. Normally you are aspiring for "A" grades.

Hmm, that a fair point - Expectations...

It just depend on background, family history, school, etc.
...Certainly do find their basis from those things...

...And I'd have to say that I think most just strive to do their best if they care to.

For me, if I ever really want something - I'll strive for it, but I've never placed unrealistic expectations on myself - Kidding yourself is only going to lead to a worse outcome.

I can relate... as that has happened to me (missing out barely on HDs), but there have been more times I was disappointed for missing out 1 or 2 marks from Ds

If you gave it your best, then that's fine.

On the women issue, that's a bit of more a complex situation than comparing to studies . There's no correlation.

Coming from a third world country, we strive to do good in school and have a chance at getting in one of the better universities (maybe even a scholarship). It increases the chances of getting a good job after you finish and get your degree.

Graduates are everywhere but why would an employer choose you out of thousands of more applicants fresh from school. Or at least that's the mindset of parents. If you are after a white collar job.

Now if you want to be a farmer, mechanic, athlete, others - then being the best in school probably won't matter.
