Went riding with my brothers this morning up at Waterfall. The Sydney to the Gong bike ride was on as well and to get to the trail we were going to ride we had to join the pack of spandex wearing Kool-Kats for about 400 metres. Anyway, my brothers went a slightly different way with me sailing down the road in the pack. There is a woman on the side of the road with a mega-phone that is some sort of info person. She sees me with no race number and starts yelling at me saying that I'm cheating and robbing from sick people because if I didn't have a number then I didn't pay the entry fee.

Really? Robbing from sick people?

I have a bunch of mates who went on that ride today. The one of them I was sponsoring has a virus so couldn't make it. Apparently I still have to pay the donation regardless of him not riding...

Sick as a dog, sitting here in the doctors waiting room on my birthday. Came in yesterday and all he did was say take panadol and give me a 1 day certificate. What's the odds he won't be any more helpful today.

Cheers mate, just hoping I am well enough to go out for dinner tonight as planned . The different doctor I saw today gave me some medication and a two day certificate this time

Scarily enough one of my wife's best friends husbands is named Trevor and it's his birthday today too (a year before me though the old bugger)
