That's the case officially but the fact remains that almost any online retailer that wants them can stock and sell Takara TFs. When BBTS put in their order for Encore Fort Max or MP Prowl Takara didn't say "Sorry, you're covered by Hasbro's market, you'll have to wait for them to release it." They sold them as many as BBTS wanted knowing that they were mostly for the American market.

That's because they're specialist importers. If regular overseas retailers like say Toys R Us, Target, Kmart etc. wanted to release TakaraTOMY TFs, they would refuse. The only way they can do it is to import it through Hasbro. That's how we've had Takara(TOMY) TFs sold in regular Australian stores in the past (e.g. MP Ultra Magnus, MP04, MP Ghost Starscream etc.) - they would have been distributed by Hasbro Australia. Those store chains didn't source them directly from Takara(TOMY). Specialist import stores would, but of course in Australia they get slapped with loads of import taxes, duties, levies etc. which often doubles their original prices when sold here.

Hasbro would sell their stock to specialist importers in Japan too (e.g. Mandarake, Jungle, Hero Gangu etc.), but regular store chains in Japan (e.g. Daimaru, Itoyokado, Bic Camera, Seibu, Tobu, TRU etc.) normally don't sell Hasbro TFs, and if they did it would be distributed by TakaraTOMY. So Hasbro and TakaraTOMY can sell products in each other's markets with permission from the other party -- but they don't develop products with each other's markets in mind, unless it's a dual project where they're developing something in tandem. This is what Takara have explicitly stated. Is there any evidence to the contrary or only speculation?

the winner: Star Saber is a character I've yet to see on a screen. I assume it's from one of the follow on series in Japan from G1.

I'm working my way through that ever so slowly. I stopped when Prime started and I haven't picked it back up yet.

another series I'm yet to watch all the way through is the Unicron trilogy. I am part of the way into Armada. Snoore.

I expect a similar poll here(western culture) would be G1 Prime, G1 Rodimus prime, BW Primal, BM Primal, RID Prime, Unicron Trilogy Primes, Animated Prime or Magnus, Movie Prime and Prime Prime. two of these have already been done.

Apart from the first magnus MP and rodimus MP(i have the hasbro version) this will be the first MP that I skip entirely.

The only time I recall Star Saber appearing in Western Material (outside cameo/background type situations) was IDW comic spoilers as a bad guy in MTMTE comics, so you could have him fight your the MP Ultra Magnus since they both seem to be the latest bots to wear particular powerful armour!

Wel for Decepticon leaders Wed prolly have a shorter list, but yeah I find the villains roster always more exciting and interesting than the heroes even when I was a kid.

We'd prolly get a list like
1. G1 Megatron - they better make this size compatible and non anorexic.
2. Arms Micron Megatron - Meh for me H tank with scissors helmet , meh
3. Energon Megatron _ Which they can retool actually for a MP Galvatron
4. Beast Megatron - Tyrannosaur, oooh they can make an MP rubber duckie!!
5. Master Megatron - I don't even own the Cyb figure - not interesting for me
6. G1 Galvatron - Oh yeah - he can also come with those head sparky things like Red alert, coz you know, he's crazy!
7. Scorponok - this , thumbs up but G1 megs first
8. Overlord - Same for this
9. Black Zarak - ditto
10. G2 Megatron (tank) - If they can't make G1 megs, Id settle for this definitely. Will work well posing with Gi Joes (eherrmm Cobras) too

Kinda sad that Grand Convoy rats higher than Fort Max, but I guess, Grand Convoy is a toy much more in need of improvement over Maxx :P
