Transformers questions by newbies, and not-so-newbies

Has it ever been covered in TF fiction as to weather the mini-cassettes such as Howlback, Sundor, Glit, Garboil, Dial, Saur, Graphy, Noise. Raindance etc etc are minions of Soundwave/Blaster and Blaster/Twincast or are they possibly independant, freed slaves, or minions of other Tape commanders?

There was a Dreamwave illustration of Beastbox and Squawktalk being ejected so they belonged to Soundwave in at least one continuity.

There must be some sort of history for them...

Raindance and Grandslam also weren't Blaster's minions in the G1 comics (although he did... um... put them in his mouth and spit them into the sea. They had before this in the 1700s also flown through space, landed in the sea, been found by pirates, put in a treasure chest and sunk back in the sea again. Or something. I know it sounds like I'm making this up but I'm really not.)

Certainly some unused character fodder there though. I think it'd be nice to see more cassette-formers in the comics. Maybe an all out war between the legions of Soundwave and the legions of Blaster...

Actually, do I know what happens - a bunch of bad fanficy Wreckers/Universe/Timelines/OTCC rubbish. So technically they might be the end of everything. I guess it depends on the continuity too - I would say that as well as those lame comics, Beast Machines (US) and Beast Wars Neo (Japanese) are at the end of the main Transformers continua.
