Just got an email from Dad, Mum has more blood in her brain than she did a few days ago.
It's not looking good according to the doctor.

Small bit of hope, blood pressure down - that will hopefully reduce the blood/brain swelling
However still sleeping and no eye/mouth movement yet
Is responding to some external stimulus but even with 'recovery' things are looking very bad

A member of our extended family recently went through a very similar set of circumstances; After having organised her Mother-in-law's 90th Birthday party, a very "well to do" event if you knew this family, the morning broke on the day the party was to take place and she too collapsed after suffering a severe stroke.

It was extremely touch & go for 4 weeks after the surgery & introduction of medication, having good days and bad days with little indication of which way she could go (As you know, every patient's circumstances are different post surgery/ies), at the 8th week she luckily awoke and at the 12th week she entered into full-time rehab for a period of 6 weeks where she was again lucky to make significant strides towards normalcy - This was 6 months ago and she is still undergoing part time rehab at home, suffering from recognition issues and impeded speech.

Her case was described by her Doctors as being rather miraculous, at the age of 62.

Every single stroke case is different and there's sadly nothing to suggest your Mum will be dealt a similar set of circumstances, however, I say to you and your family; Stay strong, keep visiting & talking to her everyday you can and I sincerely hope she's afforded the same luck or better.

No change is better than a change for the worse.

Had an update from the Dr today
Sadly its not good news - bleed into brain is worse than earlier in the week, and Mum has stopped responding to most external commands.
If it was getting any better, they would expect to see something by now

Mum looked to be in a vegetative state during the visit today - eye was half open, but nothing was there
