Conceptually yes the grid-like background and the g1 toys go together, but artistically the two seem separated. The banner doesn't blend into the background or vice versa...

I'm yet to see a banner I don't like.
not all of them can blend nicely with the background as that would put a bit much restriction on the design of the banners. I have really enjoyed the variation over the last 15 or so months of different banner designs.

I could retire the background, and just have a more neutral colour instead, to go with different banners?
