Guess I should say I've become a fan of The Big Bang Theory this year. I'm gonna blame Penny (Kaley Cuoco) because she's hot... and I find the show to be funny as well.

I can't stand 'Big Bang Theory'.
It just didn't 'click' for me. I also hate the obnoxious laugh track.
I've got to champion 'Ink Master' again. The competition is genuinely interesting, the challenges are fresh and innovative, it doesn't have much of the usual reality BS, and it never fails to entertain. And you don't need to have any knowledge of tattoos and tattoo art to enjoy it (my friends and I are proof of that). A selection of America's best tattoo artists battling to become 'Ink Master' and get 100 grand. There's some great art. It's now in season 2. I recommend starting from season one, just because it was great too.
Also if anyone is interested, I'm selling the first season set of the awesome 'Avengers:Earth's Mighties Heroes' blu-ray set, with the exclusive steelbook packaging. Great show, unwanted purchase - $38. (I paid $56) Send me a PM if you're interested.

Oh cool, didn't realise Burn Notice was back.
This week's Ink Master was great. 'Star Wars' was the theme for both challenges.
And Blood And Chrome is available, the first few parts. It's blocked to Aussies though, so you have to download it from pirate sites. Way to encourage your fans to use illegal resources, SyFy Channel...
It's great seeing all the ships again, and it was a fantastic moment seeing the Galactica again for the 'first' time, brand new and with a lot more guns and armour than we're used to. Makes sense, as we only saw it previously at the end of its life, after being decommissioned.

Yeah, I gotta say that I was less impressed with season 7 when compared to how the series was going previously. It seemed to lack a main protagonist that previous seasons had and rely on the relationship between Dexter and his sister to drive the plot. I'm starting to think that ending the show with season 8 wouldn't be all that bad.

So I just finished watching Battlestar Galactica, the re-imagined series recently and I thought it was brilliant television despite the somewhat over-reliance on religious undertrones. The characters are so real, the space battles are breathtakingly epic and the dialogue is so well done. Yes there were a few dodgy episodes but overall I really enjoyed the series.
So I decided to watch the prequel show that came out after, 'Caprica'.
And my gods, IT IS BORING. SO FREAKING BORING.
Most of the characters are unlikeable and there isn't much to relate to them - heck even young Bill Adama seems like a brat despite becoming a badass leader in BSG. I think what one of the major mistakes that this series made was that it took itself WAY too seriously unlike Battlestar. Yes Battlestar may have had overly corny moments at times there were also many moments when the show had fun with itself as well.
I guess it's one of those things writers and filmmakers should consider when trying to create a story, not to take yourself so seriously that you forget to have fun.

I got the BSG box set for Christmas after having seen none of it or the original series and I'm loving it so far, but I'm only just getting toward the end of the second season - one of the mates that recommended it to me says it gets a little bit like Lost, but in space (not to be confused with Lost in Space).
The religious undertones are annoying me a lot - I'm here for the space opera, the dogfights and the space carrier fighter pilot life, not your crazy prophecy crap lady.

It's been fantastic so far. I just read the comics that are being released side by side with it. They actually relate to the show. I too have not seen Arrow, but my brother highly suggested it because it is pure awesomeness.
So I'm still watching Caprica, more than half way through and after reading one internet comment about how the show gets better....
...well it does.... ....AT BEING WORSE.
THIS SHOW IS JUST PURE FACEPALM.
What kind of terrorist leader hires a bunch of emotionally unstable teenagers to do their bidding?
The Italian looking folk are coincidentally from a planet notoriously known for being involved in the Mob?!?
How can I relate to:
- A teenage girl who hates her super rich parents so much that she runs away ALL to join pretentious religion? (Zoe)
- A ruthless cult-leader who will kill everyone who stands in her way to reach to the top? (Clarice)
- A teenage girl who cannot die and just walks around killing people? (Tamara)
- A rich man who intentionally is responsible for many murders and yet thinks that his life or that of his family is above all others? (Daniel)
- Another teenage girl who commits terrorist acts to maintain freindship with another girl who treats her like crap? (Lacy)
- A high-class lawyer that you actually never see in court and doesn't really anything significant but follow his criminal brother around intimidating others? (Joseph)
- A hitman? (Sam)
At least Battlestar had its relatable characters, but this is a rant long and satisfying enough for moi.

Well after lots of nagging from friends I sat down and watched "The Walking Dead" I sat and watched all of season 1 and maybe it was because everyone I know hyped it up and told me how fantastic it was but my reaction was... meh. I don't really enjoy any of the characters and not enough zombie action to compensate for all the drama. I'll probably keep watching hoping it gets better.
Now to hide from the backlash:p
If you have read the comics, the show is inferior to the comics. But yeah Rick's character development is quite good throughout the seasons, and the morals of society are challenge by the need to survive.

I got to admit that I don't necessarily look forward to season finales. All they are is another episode with no definitive ending (unless they're ending the show). It's just an 8 month long hiatus.

From what I have read that's only a 6 part web episode totalling 22 mins - about half of what a normal episode would be. I've also heard that ep 4 - unaltered, will be airing in other parts of the world either today or tomorrow so there's hope it will be available soon. I can't bring myself to watch ep 5 without seeing 4 first.
The decision not to show it in the US was influenced by the Boston bombings.

I've seen the 22mins in question, hoping to get to Ep5 in the next day or so. 'Ep4' seemed to have pertinent bits to the arcs of several characters and the contributes to the ongoing storyline quite considerably, I wouldn't have thought it was so easily skipped.
It seems a bit extreme to not show it due to the events in Boston. Violent incidents (especially gun deaths) are a frighteningly regular occurrence in the US, cancelling an episode of an admittedly violent show in response to such an event seems bizarre. I mean, they know these things happen all the time, right? And they know what their show is all about. If they're so concerned about the reaction to their show, why put it on at all? I'm not sure I understand the logic.
Sadly, it may be a moot point - ratings in the US don't appear stellar, but I'm hoping it lasts more than just one season.

I started watching Bates Motel. Only 7 episodes out so far. Quite interesting. For those of you who don't know, it's a slapstick comedy about the comedic capers of Norma Bates and her son Norman as they try to set up a motel and all the zany antics they get up to:p
Seriously it's a prequel to Psycho but set in modern times (if you get my drift) and shows how Norman sees and hears things that aren't there causing you to wonder whats real and whats not... also the mother is really creepy.

Removal from KSL-TV
The series was pulled by Salt Lake City, Utah's KSL-TV (Channel 5) as of April 29, 2013 after four episodes were aired, and will air in that market beginning with the May 4 episode during late night Saturdays after Saturday Night Live on KUCW, Salt Lake City's CW affiliate.[61] KSL-TV is owned by the commercial broadcasting arm of the LDS Church, and has refused several NBC series in the past due to violent or sexual content. Hannibal was pulled after Salt Lake Tribune television writer Scott D. Pierce criticized the station for refusing to carry NBC's sitcom The New Normal due to its sexual humor, while allowing the violence of Hannibal to air without any objections; the article led to viewer complaints to KSL over the series.

The Walking Dead premiere was great. I really hope they can maintain this level of quality, because it was actually enjoyable on it's own merits. People are competent--if they get hurt or die, it's because they are in a very dangerous situation. For three seasons if people got hurt or died, sure it's a dangerous place, but for the most part they were morons (which was reiterated repeatedly while watching the catch up yesterday and the finale before the premiere)! They have fun banter instead of circular arguments of trust and "what do we do now"--Carol smirks, and calls Daryl 'pooky' while they flirt. Michonne smiles and acts like a person. Strong pacing, brilliant action (admittedly they have always done major set pieces like that well), and and intriguing cliffhanger made this an top notch premier.
And, Carol, I cannot praise her enough. She has gone from someone I hated, and thought was a real burden on the group to one of my favourites, and of the strongest characters on the show. Her teaching the kids self defence is needed, and important. She's a champion.

Started watching The Crazy Ones starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar. It's the next series in long line of occupational comedies created by David E Kelley including L.A Law, Ally McBeal and Boston Legal except this time we're in an advertising agency instead of a courtroom.
Overall I'm finding myself watching this mostly for Robin Williams. It's good to see him on the screen again. I think this series is going to end up being cast driven like Ally McBeal as the most dramatic thing that could happen at an advertising agency is going broke? I'd be interested to see what direction they take to get longevity out of this show as, to me, the rope seems pretty short.

One of my colleagues auditioned for the show (on the geek side). The geeks are given a completely new wardrobe that they have to wear and are instructed to act as awkward or nerdy as required. It's a pretty safe presumption the same level of control is applied on the beauty side so don't feel too bad. It's all showbiz.
To top it all off, he actually got tapped on the shoulder to audition after the producers saw his video application for the Amazing Race.

My brains not sure it can handle it though.

Add Sons of Anarchy to that list as well man! One of the best shows around.
I've still to watch Breaking Bad, but am watching the new Sons of Anarchy and catching up on Arrow.
Though Arrow does have admittedly bad acting and is too much about relationship drama it is a guilty pleasure to watch. (Plus the ladies are sexyyyy and the cameos from Deathstroke are awesome)
Also for anyone that's a fan of old-school badass-ery, brutal fights and frequent sex scenes I'd recommend the show Banshee. A great nod to the 80s type of action films.

Arrow has to be the greatest turn around in quality I've ever seen in a show, borderline un-watchable at the start, but by the end of season 1 I was hooked.

Agreed :) The first 5 episodes were pretty average but then it gets really interesting. I've started season 2 and so far it seems to be a lot darker i.e. more adult e.g. Doll Maker episode.

So while marathoning through Arrow I've noticed something...
Almost every second episode Oliver Queen is eating at that burger joint but maintains supreme physical form for being a vigilante.
I'm calling BS... ...not that the rest of the show is unrealistic lol :p
Still enjoying it though, Green Arrow VS Torchwood Guy

I think Bryan Cranston became one of my all time favourite actors with Breaking Bad. To the point where I watch old roles, and I can see just how great he is and how much effort is in his performances but I never really noticed. Even his MITM role is just amazing.

I'd strongly recommend only watching season 1, season 2 and onward they ditched Darabont, halved the budget while doubling the episodes, and it shows. People liked season 3, but I think it never recovered. There is some pleasure in seeing how stupid the characters act from time to time.

A new season of QI has started (channel 21, Friday 8pm)... for anyone who is interested in fascinating bits of trivia, with a comedic twist.
If school was presented in this format, we'd have a lot more intelligent people... :p
(I don't watch Beauty and the Geek, but the commercial they were showing for yesterday's episode had me just shake my head at how little knowledge some people leave school with)
Looks like they are playing it weeknights on channel 2 at 8pm.
Worth checking out at least once... but be aware that some episodes are a little naughty with adult humour. :o

Plus Ultimate Fighter: Canada vs Australia debuted last night. Interesting show but two things that are problems. The MMA talent pool isn't deep enough so I don't think too many of the competitors will succeed in the UFC. Second thing is these shows usually thrive on hostility between the teams and coaches but Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke are too nice.

I quite like Psycho-Pass. A 2012 anime in a world where brain scans can instantly determine your 'psycho-pass', a report on personality, mental state and criminal tendencies. If your crime coefficient rises too high, you are hunted down and arrested, sometimes with lethal force. This is old school sci- fi. Asking questions and poking holes in utopian/dystopian social systems.
