I think they said something about wanting to appeal a bit to the Gundam and model making crowds. Like bait to get them interested in Transformers.

I actually liked it, but I have a thing for Lego and putting things together like that.

If Hasbro are indeed "allowing" another (separate) company to produce converting Transformers *toys*, I think it would probably be a first (for Hasbro), because they are so possessive of their properties.
TakaraTomy have done it with CMS, but with restrictions... and the Revoltech (which aren't convertible, or strictly speaking, toys).
What about those little figures that came with a stick of gum? Were they made by Takara or by a licensed 3rd party?
