    Got this from HLJ

    Hello, Brett-
Thank you for your new order, preordering 10 apiece of two popular upcoming items.
We note that you have cancelled more than 500,000 yen in merchandise this year.
While we allow cancellations, we unfortunately are not able to continue to serve customers who abuse this policy. As we explain in the Terms & Conditions, to which you agree in ordering with us:
"While we accept customers' cancellations of all or part of their order at any time prior to payment processing (this can be done in My Account), we ask that you keep cancellations to a minimum by avoiding heat-of-the-moment orders and making sure that you really want something before you click the Add to Cart button. Overstocks due to customer cancellations affect our ability to offer great prices, so this is in everybody's interest! We reserve the right to limit or close the accounts of customers who abuse the cancellation policy, or abandon shippable orders without submitting payment."
You have many other items on order with us, but also a high rate of cancellation that we're afraid has become abusive.
For us to be able to continue to serve you, we must ask that you please do not order an item unless you intend to complete the purchase.
We appreciate your understanding, and your business with us.

Did you actually cancel up to $5,000 worth of stuff in the last year?

If so, I can understand why they'd see you being a high risk customer, and got worried about you pre-ordering 20 new items, that they don't want to be stuck with if they were cancelled as well.
(I do the same thing - if someone backs out of a group order/pre-order after I've bought the stuff, or takes way too long paying, I am less likely to risk including them next time... because other people suffer if I just decide against doing group orders all together)

Probably have cancelled items; either due to a) over ordering and not getting enough pre orders for the product, b) ordering only for me and having to cancel due to finances, or c) (and what has happened too many times) is not being allocated any product to my order and having to cancel and order from someplace else.

Take Japanese Grimlock and Ratbat. Originally had 10 on order, changed to 8 of each. Allocated 0. Cancelled and ordered from Robot Kingdom.

That's a lot of stuff to cancel. Can't say I blame them for giving you a warning.

When you say you ordered 10 Grimlock's, I assume you're ordering for others. Maybe just order for yourself?

i'd probably reply and politely remind them that you only cancelled certain orders, with examples, that they had neglected to fill. perhaps ask if there was a reason you were not allocated any.

I can see at face value if you are ordering for many and in their system you have cancelled several orders like this when they probably had more stock incoming, on a first pre-ordered first served basis, that it probably looks like you cancel a lot of otherwise viable orders.

I did email them when I read the email last night, it was frank.

    Hi there

Items are cancelled after you fail to allocate items to my orders and I have to rush to order them from other suppliers.

I would prefer to continue to order but as ordering from HLJ is a gamble and ‘first in’ is not always ‘first served’ and I have to take my business elsewhere.

Are you emailing me telling me to take my business elsewhere?

    Thanks, Brett
I have yet to receive a reply.

I can understand the email and I know that ordering 10 items to ultimately only purchase 0, 1 or 2 is 'bad' but the items are never in stock for longer than a day so by me ordering and cancelling they are not being penalised and having to keep stock on hand that never sells.

As I purchase on behalf off, sometimes I also need that security that most other retailers provide (that is that the items ARE going to be held for you) and not the will I/won't I that ordering with HLJ provides.
