My G1* collection is 86% (379/440**) complete and I only have 1 (arguably 3***) figures in storage. Mind you, most of my G1s are loose (just the way I like it!).

Comics, books, tapes etc. take up relatively much less space than toys and are easier to shelve. I place my comics in cardboard magazine holders then place the holders on shelves. Board games can take up some space after a while though... basically anything with boxes takes up space, so I try to keep as few boxes as possible (although with board games ya kinda hafta).

For me, the thing I don't like about glass cabinets is that it makes it bit of a hassle when you want to randomly grab an assortment of figures out to play with then put them back.

I like how your collection room has nice wooden book cases and not those cheap and nasty metal tool shelves that I have. I'd like to replace them all with wooden book cases eventually... don't think I'd go glass go... I don't even like having my Megatrons in a glass display unit (I wouldn't do it if it weren't a legal requirement in NSW).
