So does anyone know if Target roll their prices over on Wednesday evenings?

Just hoping to be able to go in the night before the crazy rush, Targets never have many lego sets in stock!

It has always bugged me as to why Target claims they have Australia's biggest toy sale, so I rang up and asked. Official response - "it's just a marketing thing".
Seems a bit deceptive if they are throwing around quantitative terms like that, without some sort of parameter to back it up.
I asked, is it 'biggest' in terms of number of toys, amount of stock, the number of stores... "Um, nup, it's just a marketing thing".
Sounds like false advertising to me, during the BigW & Kmart sales - just to have parents think that if they wait a month before fighting the crowds at the shopping centre, this "bigger" sale will be better for them.

(only two days to go until I have to fight those crowds )

I asked... and they said no. The prices are effective from midnight, and they have on their website the stores that will be open at midnight for the sale.

Unfortunately you'd have to click on every store on their store locator page to see which one is open at midnight (doesn't look like any in Brisbane will be). If only a few stores were going to be open for this, they should at least list them on their toysale page.

Thanks Bossbot, it's a shame, I have neither the urge nor inclination to attend midnight sales anymore, dealing with 25+ 8 year olds after a night of little sleep is not appealing!
Might just try to dash in at 6am or something then, thats when there is usually a lull at these things.

-EDIT- Mt Druitt, Rouse Hill and Penrith all open at Midnight for any Western Sydneysiders, 8am to midnight hours for other Western Sydney stores.

An interesting note on the 'Australia's Biggest Toy Sale':
The Target in Bendigo actually seems to be going all out for this one. Most (if not all) of the stock is already on the floors (just not at sale prices yet) which has more than doubled the size of thier toy department. I think that shows a level of commitment we usually don't see from Target.

Same as Target Rockingham. They have lots of stuff all over the place so if you cant find it in one spot, walk around and you might find it somewhere else. I'm glad I dont want anything so I will be staying away from that place for awhile. Only Tuesday and the screaming kids are already going at it.

And other stores don't use slogans and phrases to lure in customers? Its essentially how most stores sell products. The general public are idiots. If you had two individual products and told them that one was better than the other because it was a different color the majority would believe you, no questions asked. When your dealing with people like that why wouldnt retailers make unproven marketing phrases? I'm not saying its right, but the majority of the time it works. As for parents thinking they have to wait a month for supposedly better prices, the target catalogue was out weeks ago (while both bigw and kmarts sales are still on) If saving money was so important to people surely theyd check the catalogues of all three stores to see where the best buys are.

midnight. I dont know many stores open from then though. IF a store is in a westfield or similar shopping center they normally dont open at midnight because then westfield has to stay open, and if the westfield is near houses or units theres some law about noise or something (its complicated and i dont understand it completely) but from what ive been told most of the midnight opening stores will be ones that are in more secluded areas.

Hmmm. I think I think I care more about the 12 inch Thor and Green Lantern figures, really.
