Default RID Scourge or Black Convoy??

Hello team, once again i have got some extra cash and am considering purchasing one of the figures in the title.
Looking on Ebay, the Hasbro version is fetching more than the Takara version which is surprising. Why is this? Which one is the better of the two and why?

Good choice, I've got a Scourge and he's pretty sweet.
The main differences are Black Convoy has a more pinkish plastic for his translucent parts, Scourge's sword is a bit blunter, Black Convoy doesn't have a Decepticon logo sticker on the side of the truck cab, they have different shoulder stickers (Scourge has G2 Decepticon insignia, Black Convoy has upside-down G2 Autobot insignia), they have different license plates, and the discs are different (BC has Autobot symbols molded onto them, Scourge has them blank). See here for pics.

I'm glad I got the Hasbro version 'cos I prefer the red plastic sword and windows, but really they're so similar it doesn't make much difference.

There are actually three versions, Takara, Hasbro and Sonokong. They're all fairly similar - the Takara one is slightly less neutered so probably best if it's cheapest. Otherwise, just go by price. (Do you already have Laser Optimus Prime or eHobby Magnus? Unless you want it for the Scourge/Black Convoy colour scheme Prime and Magnus are arguably the best versions of the mould because they still have the electronics.)

Out of curiosity, would the electronics be transferable or are the relevant mounts/holes molded over?

If you were willing to cannibalise a Laser Prime, it would work. In that case, Scourge and Sonokong Black Convoy's red plastic is a bit more transparent than Takara's pink, so the former two would work better.

Buy at your own risk (they're dodgy in terms of using stock photos and calling things complete and unbroken when they're not) but Transformerland has a Toys 'R' Us Scourge for $50: http://www.transformerland.com/store...item&id=180618
