No dino-mode sludge pic?
Unfortunately no; I should specify that the Dino mode shots are actual In-Game Screenshots and thus far, nothing In-Game has been shown of Sludge.
(Sludge being my personal favourite Dinobot too)
The way I'm looking at it, they're saving the best reveal for last.![]()

If Hasbro as the toy makers (not fiction writers) have this attitude towards the Dinobots then don't expect official figures of them any time soon. Hopefully if the game is successful enough and the Dinobot portions of the game are praised, they may change their minds but that probably means not for a few years if at all.
I don't think those count as 'Hasbro's vision for the brand' as those are people with the Transformers license writing their own G1 stories almost independently.
Of course when it comes to toys and perhaps the video game as the interview alludes to, Hasbro does seem to want to be involved on every step.
As we have seen in the last few years, Hasbro has moved away from the 'G1 Dinobot' team for some reason. I have also heard Hasbro officially say that 'Dinobots are retired' some time ago before FOC or WFC despite their appearances in other media.
However as it's always been with Hasbro since the end of Beast Wars, consistency in what they say and what they do has never been reliable. The overall attitude may be that they do not see a place for Dinobots in the future of the line but that doesn't stop them from making Dinosaur PCC combiners.
Unfortunately given their (Archer's) current attitude, I do not think we will be getting 'G1 Dinobot' figures any time soon.

The nature of the (corporate) beast that is an International (toy) corporation like Hasbro.
Like... most of the lower levels of Hasbro that deal with Hasbro product creation want to relook at Beast Wars (according to the last 3 years of BotCon panels - due to the "cult" popularity within the collector community), but the people at the top of the food chain (who decide on the direction of the brand as a whole) haven't given them approval for a full series, or a range within a series... because they would be prioritising concepts & series that are assessed as being more profitable (to the uncommitted consumers who buy most of their products).
If Hasbro did a small-quantity, collector-focused toy range (like Matty Collector, or even TakaraTomy), we could see more of these "fan favourites".
(I doubt that's going to happen, with all the money they make from "cookie cutter" mainstream concepts - centered around the same specific characters and settings each time.)
Yeah, until I see toys of all 5 Dinobot characters, then I don't consider it to be a full ressurection of that entire sub group. Animated came close with 3 Dinobots.
But yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath for it. We've never had five Dinobots released in the same series since 1985; and it was relatively easy/cheap for Hasbro then because they just took the Diaclone Kyouryuu Robos and rehashed them as Dinobots. After that we've never seen all 5.
So much ignorance and cluelessness in just one article.
