So... plenty of Wii U news tonight!
Virtual Console for Wii U. Buy games you've bought before, again! But this time you can play them on the gamepad. Lame. I wish they'd stop wasting new game development resources on this but i'm sure it makes them a tonne of money so that'll never happen. They do have the option to 'upgrade' previous Wii VC purchases to Wii U ones for a fairly reasonable cost i guess, but i'm over it!
Yoshi platformer by Good Feel (who made Wario Land Shake It & Kirby's Epic Yarn). Looks more like Yoshi's Story than Yoshi's Island but i still have some optimism for this... though i've kinda got my 2d platforming fix from NSMB2 & U recently.
Zelda Wind Waker HD version for end of year. I wouldn't be interested if this was just HD, but they're apparently tuning up the gameplay, which hopefully amounts to re-instating the dungeons they inexcusably cut from the original release. And it wouldn't hurt to make ocean traversal a bit simpler and faster, and tighten up the end of game fetch quest while they're at it!
A new Zelda for Wii U... that's a long ways a way and again they're saying challenges the notion of what a Zelda game is. Hopefully the first thing they realise that it ISN'T, is a time consuming, hand-holding insult to player intelligence!
Mario Kart & Mario 3d something confirmed to be playable at E3.. Smash Bros in video form only.
What looks like a Xenoblade sequel from Monolithsoft.. is probably what i'm most interested in, having not getting around to playing the Wii game.
That's a lot of stuff but really most of it is predictable old Nintendo mega-sellers yet again... Yet another Nintendo announcement goes by without a new F-Zero, Wave Race or 1080!
I'm hoping they've saved some truly new or seldom revisited franchises for E3.
