It obviously didn't turn out too bad for them, considering they still sold the excess sets, something that HG was trying to stop.

Depending on their size/whatever I could totally see a potential leader Generations Megatron/Jetfire as being good stand-ins for MP counterparts, considering the difficulties surrounding doing proper MPs for the both of them.

It's not just a question of Hasbro making use of an under-used mold. If retailers remember that Leader Jetfire was a dud then it will not be ordered.

Jetfire and Megatron were listed under Generations, yeah? Not TF4... TF4 I could makes some sense out of, but not Generations.

The Leader Optimus Prime from TF4 that was shown a little while ago is going to be released under the Generations line first before the main TF4 line kicks in. It could be they are doing other TF4 figures under Generations first.

Looking at the list it seems like all of the "main" or collector-styled toys for TF4 are being released under the Generations banner now. That could fall in line with the way they treated FOC and to a lesser extent Dark Cybertron. They may be intending to focus on the movie line less next year than they have in the past (though I doubt it). It could also mean that they intended to release simpler toys with different play patterns under the broader movie banner and more complex toys for those that want them under the Generations banner.

I sort of like this idea. I don't know how accurate it is, but it is a nice thought.

Some interesting speculation that leader Jetfire could indeed be a white version of the ROTF Leader, and that Megatron could be a reuse of the movie Leader Brawl mold.

Ooh hadn't seen that before.

That's pretty nice, and it scales so well with MP10. I like the GDO version more, but I would still buy that specifically so it could be the Megatron placeholder among the new MP scale guys.

Well, in actuality the case was "Dismissed with Prejudice" and although few details beyond each party having to pay their own legal fees, we don't know what terms were settled upon.
If it's any indication though, Hasbro has recommenced sales of said SDCC exclusive through both their own & TFCC's online stores - So this COULD mean good things, it might also mean nothing at all.
