Voluntary refunding by a seller in fear (of something), is different to what whoopass was referring to - a refund AFTER an ebay investigation, by which time the scammer is usually long gone, so can't be forced by ebay to pay out the refund. (so it has to come from ebay itself)

I thought he was referring to the recent eBay scam done by ni_jay1988.

I was one of the people who received a santa hat instead of a transformer but the seller then immediately gave me a refund when I left negative feedback.

My question is why? I could understand the scam if they closed their account immediately and ran off with the money but to hang around and give the buyer an immediate refund?

Perhaps fear of negative feedback before he was ready to shut up shop?
    Who knows.

I also got a refund on 2 of the 8 items i "Won" i think if the seller got too much negative feed back the claims would snowball in which in the end did happen. The trick worked on me i explicitly asked the seller if he was resending the items and he said yes... but when it came to updating tracking number they stopped replying to any emails.. clearly they have done a runner and my 6 claims are still pending. I do hope paypal covers me, I also hope these people rot in hell for what they have done. From what i was told by Paypal they typically dont go after scam sellers for legal action.

Does China carry the death penalty for fraud still?

Beast Wars Tech Specs - There even seem to be some McDonald's ones in there.

TF Parts Lot - Some nice bits in there, including BW Silverbolt (Magnaboss Missiles) and the hilt of Original Rattrap's gun. Interestingly too, there seem to be MP Prime blasters and MP Starscream's crown?!

TRANSFORMERS: DEICIDE -- The Beast Wars 20th Anniversary Comic Book series that could have been...
TRANSFORMERS: UNITY -- the BotCon 2016 Comic Book that should have been...

Not a bad deal I think. Only thing is the Takara version of Soundwave does not come with the other cassettes, just the one.

And this is as good a place as any to post about that
