Normally it takes them about 2 years to fully nut-out a figure, I can understand Windblade occurring in just over a year as her tooling is that of a mere Deluxe and she is to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of the brand; but even with a slight head-start, development-wise, leading up to the tally of votes for Japan's Fan Vote Masterpiece - I seriously cannot fathom them pulling off something similar with a figure who's engineering & scale is of such a marked increase in intricacy.

I'll be extremely happy to be proven wrong, but I personally don't believe we'll see MP Starsaber until late 2015.

I don't know how much engineering your expecting them to put into it but I'm not expecting something on the order of MP-09, MP-10 or MP-13 since the original Star Saber has a non-Earth based alt mode thats already almost cartoon accurate (just needs to be made a little sleeker). I imaging they will use a fairly similar body to the G1 toy with a bit more articulation as well as adding the new detail to the Brainmaster and cockpit they said they are working on in the announcement live stream.

I'd like to be wrong but I think it's a going to be a rush job that will be very similar to the G1 toy except in that areas I mentioned. I'll still get it without hesitation as I want a Star Saber but I'm ready to be disappointed.

More than the 2 year development cycle for a standard deluxe toy incurs.

If Hasbro decided to release their own version of MP Star Sabre, it'd be interesting if they included a Great Sword with it. They could reuse that same weapon mould if TakTOM ever decided to do an MP Dai Atlas and Hasbro decided to release that too. For Burning Justice!

If it's not on par with MP level engineering then it's not a Masterpiece. I fully expect it to be up there with MP-10 level engineering because, really, MP-10 ain't that complicated. I hope it's NOTHING like the G1 toy because that thing is a brick. It's more a statue than a toy. To carry the Masterpiece title I would fully expect Takara to not do a half-arsed job. Especially for the 30th anniversary MP.

^This. G1 Star Sabre is a pretty crappy toy, even by G1 standards.

Oh man a Japanese G1 figure as the 30th Anniversary MP? Have no interest in it at all. I guess it opens up new doors though for the collectors that voted Star Sabre in.

It may have been a different result if it was an international poll but, what d'ya do?

Then we probably would have got an MP super-pants Prime. Which would have been awesome. But Star Saber is pretty damn cool too.

I'm very interested on how Star Saber would turn out. I'd be curious to see how they would improve him to MP standards. I might actually get him!
