Wave 2 is finally out?

I left work on time today and went down the street to Aspley Hypermarket. TRU had at least two megatrons. Pretty much just wave one.

They also had some ticket thing for MP ultra magnus.

Went in to Kmart, had a smattering of wave one.

Big W Nambour has wave 2 of the deluxe, so that is the Stuntys but I didn't see any Motormaster or Blackjack. They are clued onto the whole price thing and not been in the system. I picked up Offroad, Deadend and Breakdown. One of them was not in the system but they did just compare and say they are the same so I paid $29.00 ea for them. They had the comics in them. Was hoping for the $15 bargain price, but just happy to have in hand.

Air Raid is definitely part of the the Wave 2 case assortments, I managed to pick up the 4 Wave 2 deluxes from Big W here in SA. Hopefully they show up soon for you guys in QLD too!

Target Rocky is very low on CW stuff, has been since last week. No deluxes at all other than old AOE stock that's not moving, only Silverbolt left of Voyagers (and several therof), and just a couple of Armada Megatrons that have been sitting on the shelf. Other than that they have quite a bit of AOE stuff.

I'll check out Big W tomorrow. I'm hoping to grab an Air Raid ASAP to finish off Superion.

I ended up getting the 4 deluxes from Big W Carindale, but when I left there was only a lone Breakdown left on the shelf.

No sign of the Voyager or Legends figures, and my lack of Motormaster makes me immeasurably sad. Still, at least I don't have to stare longingly at Superialmost any more.

Yep and at other stores it may also have something to do with the fact that they weren't initially scanning up as $29 in Big W's systems -staff were selling them off for as low as $15 each.

Yep, saw the wave 2 deluxes at bigw on Thursday. I ended up passing for now as for $29 each, nah, I don't think so. I didn't get a stack of cash by spending more than I should. :)

But it was strange, took me a while to find them as they only had like two pegs width of transformers there. Mostly just the combiner wars. They had wave 1 legends too.

The Kreo is wave one from 2014 (wave 2 is the really rare set) for $4, while the Tiny Titans are wave 2 from this year.

Still no Clash 2-packs at TRU, but I was surprised to see that there was only one Insecticon 3-pack left after seeing 3 there the day before.
The box is so big, and since they are sealed by those security devices, people must be buying them thinking they are bigger.
I did end up buying the last of the Angry Birds Bumblebee Blast Launcher sets from Mr Toys Macgregor. They have a lot of first wave GEN & RID on the shelves.

I was looking for Volume 6 (the first volume for Season 2), but they didn't have them in, nor did they appear to have any stock left in the system to order more in. It was as if they were already sold out nationwide, along with Volume 5.
That might sound great for the series to keep being released, but it isn't good if they have cut back the units so much that people won't be able to find anything after Volume 4.

Mt Ommaney said they hadn't received their shipment, and didn't know when they would.

This is a shambles, but I suppose I shouldn't have expected much from Big W. They've been a bit crap about toys lately, Transformers especially.

Weird. I was there at 8:10am this morning and the lady told me that they had six this morning in her trolley ready to be put out but three people came and bought them all.

Another person was inquiring about it at the same time and she took both of our names down (along with another person for this Cars race track) telling us she expected six more to come.

To add for those hunting; I changed my normal bus route to work this morning and got myself to the CBD store on opening. After searching, I was told they were not getting any in. (The assistant - who was seated at the front doors on a toy sale table, dressed as a minion and beside a sign, "ask for assistance" - must of thought I was going to launch into a rant because she quickly explained that it was stated that not all stores would get them but every suburban store in Brisbane would be). I just let her know that CBD wasn't listed - and as I spoke realised it's called Macarthur and was listed! :o - and 2 northside stores were as far as I could tell. She seemed genuinely surprised and apologetic and was certain that all stores were getting them but in the city.

Footnote to that, there was a large number of people (about 20 who seemed to be shopping together) asking for a number of items that weren't available (not just Devastator) - and I overhead their deliberations that they were heading to Brookside and expected to be there before it opened so I wouldn't hold hope of finding any sought after items there.

I'm not expecting to find one until later in the year given I won't get away from work to go anywhere else until this evening.

That's the down-side of combiners or sub-groups of toys across different size-classes or waves - there is no guarantee a particular country or region will see all of them, as demand (sales) dictates how often waves/cases end up getting to stores before the next wave is being sent out from the factories.
This is where a boxset works, and I was suggesting to Hasbro that they should offer boxsets after the waves are out in stores, for collectors to get the set (like in Gen1), while parents and kids can just buy the cheaper "random" toys from the store first. (a bit like comics - people prefer one or both when it comes to individual issues or TPBs, which you have to wait for later)

No they really probably don't. Especially stores like Myer. They don't give a crap either.

The fault lies with Hasbro's sales reps in not selling the point of the line more or offering retailers an incentive in picking up the complete line, such as old stock buy back or discounted rates. But then... I've met Hasbro sales reps during my time in retail that also had no idea about their own product.

TRU Aspley has the insecticons and Blaster/Perceptor, though one guy bought 2 of each as I was walking out. They have wave 1 CW stuff, but didnt see any star saber or I could've been tempted to buy it to stop myself from hunting hasbro devi. They also had one $129.99 Bluestreak... near the counters

Thanks for this siting. I'm often there on a Sunday and quickly do the rounds after shopping; did the rounds before shopping yesterday. Only a single of each was still there... well were still there ;). None left now. (Also, for anyone interested, found that Myer applies the greater of the 2 conflicting discounts to the items - so the $5 off sale price was ignored and the 50% off second full price toy was applied).

Heaps of Rescue Bots toys at Sunnybank Kmart. I think only a quarter of their toys were not Rescue Bots.

There were about a dozen figurine packs, half a dozen convertibles, about 10 Epic figures, about 10 large Heatwaves and about half a dozen Optimus with Trailer.
Other Transformers were two Gen Deluxe toys, four Gen Voyagers and about a dozen RID toys, which were 1-step, 3-step and Legions. (this included the new Mega 3-step Optimus for $69)

You could ring them up first (with full description of the item), and if they have it, get them to hold it for you to come and get it.

No sighting of Devestator at Big W Runaway Bay and Robina Shopping Centre, both just restocked with a full assortment of Wave 1 Legends @ $19, so unlikely to clear anytime soon. Both also have Beast Hunters $10 toys, and clearing out of these quickly. Robina Big W also had the Hero Mashers figures with a RiD restock (Sideswipe, Steeljaw, Bumblebee)

Also no sighting at Big W Burleigh Heads, they've been nearly cleaned out of Legends Wave 1 and I found a single Warpath left. That means they stocked the Warpath wave at some point, but might do a restock at some point in the future.

Target - no Motormasters... and their large gimmick toy-sale Transformers are where they had their Easter eggs earlier in the year. (if you've ever been to that store before)
They *had* all 6 of the $5 Legends toys, but just after I took a photo of them (setting them up to look nice) a pair of mums came over and grabbed 2 sets of five of them for their boys. (they didn't see the lone Bumblebee at the back, but wanted both boys to get the same ones... and they were pretty impressed at it only costing $25 for each of them. So all that are left are Optimus, Grimlock, Bumblebee and Cliffjumper (the only surviving wave 3 Legend after they grabbed the only two Magnus and Skywarps).

I didn't bother with Myer.

K-Mart have very little. What they do have is the second wave of RID deluxes (or whatever they're called) with Optimus and Drift.

Big W is also pretty thin on the ground. They don't even have second wave RID and mostly just have Hero Mashers. They do have a CW Skywarp which I nearly bought, but then didn't.

Millenium Comics & Collectables (small store in Northside Plaza) have the Combiner Hunters 3-pack from SDCC. It's $200 which is a bit extreme, though!

Someone found these things down south, so I looked at the Reject Shop near me and they had heaps...

Movie plush characters - Optimus, Grimlock (with no face), Bumblebee (with scary eyes). Each has about a dozen sounds when you squeeze/punch them, but all their battery tags were still attached, so I wasn't able to hear what the sounds were.
$15 each.

Plush swords - the yellow one looks like one of the Optimus toy swords, while the grey one looks like a Drift sword. They also have embedded sound boxes that made clashing sounds when you hit it against something.
$12 each. (a lot more expensive than I was expecting)

Yes, it might be a revision wave for Wave 4, as the earlier sightings didn't note Blackjack (or it could have been bought already before each of those sightings).

A trip to Garden City yesterday with Christalcase, mostly because I was hoping to get at least two of the Clash toys from ToysRUs for 22% off (with the help of his VIP card to be able to use a second voucher)... but the ToysRUs store still didn't have any of the Warrior or 3-step Clash toys yet. :mad:
They did have the first wave of Minicons for $10, so I ended up getting two of those, saving a HUGE $4.40, and leaving two Minicons behind that I didn't want to pay full price for yet. :(
The TRU store also had a heap of the RID Deployers, but no shelf tag yet to note the price.

The bizarre thing was that there were FIVE grey Sideswipes from wave 4, but NO black Bumblebees from that wave. For some reason, the scourge of the franchise in terms of flooding the toyline with masses of Bumblebees, was actually already all gone, and it wasn't even the regular full yellow version either.
What sort of mirror-verse was this Kmart in?
(if they actually had Bumblebee, I would have bought both of the Wave 4 redecos... but then I would have realised when I got home that I already imported them some time ago and forgot :o so I guess that was lucky)

Target didn't appear to have anything new since my last posted report of the store about a month ago.

Same with BigW... they still looked to have the same 12-14 Transformers toys from last month, with 6-7 of them being the RID Hero Mashers.
Target was/is the store chain that's traditionally a once or twice a year restocker of Transformers toys, but now BigW seems to be dragging its feet with reliable restocking, which puts off buyers if they think a particular retailer is getting stale on the things that need to be refreshed. Most of us collectors will cut back on the frequency we check out certain stores that have proven themselves as a waste of time going in to, even if it is within a shopping-centre that has a store you are currently there checking out. (like, I rarely check out Myer despite being right there near Target & Kmart, because they don't restock often, and their prices are high)

Myer had a single YOTG Soundwave, and a single Platinum Coneheads set, but nothing else new.
I found the hardcover 8-volume reprint of the original series Comic in their (tiny) book section, but not the TFPrime paper-craft set that is on their website.

Coles had some old TF4 1-steps on sale for $15 (from $20).

Garden City today...

BigW - still pretty much sweet FA since June... with about 20 of the Hero Mashers making up the majority of their Transformers range.
Looks like did recently get in a case of the first wave of Minicons ($9) and wave 5 Legions (Ultra Magnus & black Strongarm - $8), but there is just one Ultra Magnus left of the Legions and about 6 of the Minicons. The only thing bigger than the $19 Hero Mashers were one of each of the Transforming Titans.
The only Generations toys they had were about 5 of the first wave of Legends.

ToysRUs - the only thing I could see that was new since my last posted sighting about 2 weeks ago was a new case of the wave 1 Minicons. Everything else looked to be the same, with no Masterpiece toys or their other Clash RID toys (Warriors & 3-steps, which I was hoping to get with the 20% off coupon).

Both BigW and JB Hifi still don't have the third volume of the Rescue Bots second season DVD yet either.

After those disappointments I didn't bother walking further in the centre, so I don't have anything to report on Target, Kmart or Myer.

Sunnybank Kmart got in the new RID 3-steps and Warriors like down south.

The 3-steps were all there (2 Sideswipe, 1 Steeljaw, 1 black Bumblebee), but the Warriors had already been raided, as there were only three of the eight left (Fracture, Optimus, Bumblebee).
A full set of four and the other Megatronus were already gone.
They are at the full price of $29, so I didn't get any of them.

Complete season one of Rescue Bots (all 5 volumes - not just 4 like in the JB Hifi boxset) - $13! Yes... $13. Cheaper than a single full-priced volume. It would cost $50-100 to buy the five individual volumes, but right now in Kmart, you can get it all for just $13.
(there were two shelf tags for these with the same product details and barcode, but one had $16 on it - the box scans up for $13 though, but even $16 is amazingly cheap)

Collectors moneybox tin Rescue Bots (first 4 volumes - like the JB Hifi boxset) - $20.
That's $4 more than the JB 4-volume boxset, but these ones come in a very nice looking metal moneybox tin.

Complete Season One of Robots In Disguise with bonus Pop Vinyl Optimus - $49.
The JB Hifi "exclusive" boxset has no bonus items and it was $49 as well.

Kmart certainly got some great deals from Beyond Entertainment on these.

Well, the CBD reject shop hasn't restocked Jetfire so each store must of been only allocated a few.
The CBD store DID HAVE much to my delight :) Later waves movie battlers Vehicon, Junkheap, Galvatron, Black Camaro BB, Snarl, Lockdown etc.

This store now only has left a lot of the wave one power battlers plus one or two snarl, lockdown, grimlock etc. from what I saw after taking my haul :D

I know they are bay-formers and I didn't initially pick them up because of price but for $9 each, they definitely worth it now IMO :cool:

The reject shop also has the large TF4 Movie Grimlock construct bots set for $20

Any one after the later waves of power battlers, it would be worth going around to a few stores to try and pick them up.

No Jetfire here at Reject shop Hervey Bay, But as a few others have mentioned, Lots of construct-bots Grimlock, and the power battlers, so I picked up Galvatron, Vehicon, Optimus, Drift and Lockdown for my son. Asked the staff about Jetfire and said they hadn't received any yet, but have more hasbro toy stock coming in the lead up to xmas, so i'll have to keep checking back I think.

Good thing I passed on Jetfire the last time I was at TRU sunshine plaza - not paying $80 when I already have Thundercracker and Starscream in the same mold.

Also in the toy section plus he's, two types of plush swords with electronic sods. Batteries are very weak though. One was Grimlocks I think, or at least Grim colors, and one in Optimus Red and Blue. I'd never seen them before, but maybe they were common and Id just never noticed them. No jet fire, no shelf tags for him.

Reject Burligh Stocklands said they didn't have him on the phone, or a shelf tag. Ditto for Reject Tweed Heads South. Take their word with a grain of salt though.

One of each left after I took a set this morning. Myer is currently having 20% off toys until 24 Dec, so they're scanning at $24 :).

Also, Big W had four CW Devastators for those interested.

I hope it only started today, as I would have bought the Combaticons when I saw them yesterday. $30 is too much, but $24 I could live with... particularly as they would probably be the last toys for the year for me (as my JP toys won't get here until January, and I wasn't going to order these from America without the rest of Wave 1 Combiners, which will still be a while).


Also, Big W had four CW Devastators for those interested.Were they in the main toy section, or somewhere special, as I didn't see them there yesterday... and I didn't go in there today... I was too depressed. :p

Toys'R'Us Aspley had 2 or 3 full sets of Combaticon limbs left on Saturday (sorry, didn't check comprehensively). They didn't have prices on the pegs and didn't ring up at the register. They had them listed in a book at the register for $30 but they were ringing up at less than that when they were entering the code from the book manually.

Kmart Sunnybank must have restocked their RID Warriors as there was a Megatronus there this morning (none of the other new ones though). HEAPS of the RID Legions, but at $9 (compared to the $4.90 sale price at Coles this week).

On Monday, Kmart Sunnybank Hills had Combiner Wars Legends Shockwave , Buzzsaw, Pipes, Chop Shop for $19 each

I picked up a Combiner Wars Devastator at Big W Strathpine this afternoon. $198. Quite a few there at the time, but I don't know how long they had been out for.

ToysRUs Garden City had a single Combaticon tonight (around 1am) which was Blastoff... and a single RID 3-step Thunderhoof.

Kmart Garden City had a full case of the Wave 4 Deluxe Combiners (Autobot cars).
BigW Carindale had 11 Devastators, while BigW Garden City had already sold out of theirs.
BigW Carindale also had the second wave of RID Minicons.
Myer Carindale had nine YOTG Optimus and four Conehead sets.

Toyworld Macgregor - Combiner Battle Core Optimus looked to be the only new thing, among a lot of 2014 Movie toys still warming the shelf.

They also had in their current "Mr Toys" catalogue, the SDCC Devastator (for $249). The catalogue goes until January 10th, but this doesn't look like a sale price.
It says "don't pay $329", but that is meant to relate to RRP or a competitor's price... but since it is their exclusive, it is illegal to imply a saving if the item was never at the higher price there (or anywhere).

Kmart - actually restocked since the last photo just a few days, which only had 13 Transformers toys. Nothing really new though, but there was a full case of Combiner DLX Autobots (wave 4), and quite a few RID 3-step Sideswipes.

ToysRUs - The pegs and shelves are still left empty from the last two weeks, but must have had a case of Combiner DLX Combaticons and RID 3-steps as there was a single Blast Off and a single Thunderhoof.
I also found in the games section, the 2015 edition of Transformers Monopoly (different to the 2007 edition) for a huge $60, and the TFPrime Shuffle battle card game for $14. It could be really old since it is TFPrime, but I've never seen it here before.

After all that pre-Christmas shopping, all I ended up going home with was the Shuffle card game from TRU. :(
I wanted the Monopoly game, but $60 is just too much.

Something I saw on an email the other day from ToysRUs, is that the Aspley Store is moving soon... to a different part of the shopping centre grounds.
It won't be hard to find, but it might throw off some people trying to find it if they go to the old location and didn't see the new location while driving in.

The Woolworths at Sunnybank had popped out a new case of RID Legions yesterday, and this is why I'm seeing so many Sideswipes and Fixits at other stores (Coles Sunnybank has about 12 Sideswipes warming the pegs, so must have recently received three of these cases).
This is such an odd assortment, having over half being one character who isn't Optimus or Bumblebee.
