Also, a Mr Toys Toyworld is coming soon to LVL 2 of the Myer Centre. Not sure if it's in addition to the Queen Street Mall one or replacing it, but seems weird to open it on the quietest floor of a pretty dead shopping centre.

They are returning! There used to be two Mr Toys Toyworld stores on level 2 of the Myer Centre. Around the same time, there was one on level A. :)

Yeah I remember those days. The level 2 was so ramshackle... then they opened the game store straight across from it, which was awesome.

But I still think it's a bad move. The Myer Centre is on life support, and the higher you go up, the more closed and shuttered shops there are. There's no foot traffic, unlike on the Mall.

Yeah, can't remember the name of the games store but it was directly opposite Mr Toys on Level 2. Whenever I was in the city I would stop on by, as they would sometimes have rare or harder to find games back then. That's back when gaming was "boutique" and I use to have to drive to Indroo just to pick up PS1 and Rare SNES games.

God.. Can't even remember the name of the one at Indroo.. That was Electronics something too.. /shrug.

The main Mr Toys Toyworld on level 2 was where Daiso is now. The Income Tax Professionals (ITP) is currently directly opposite Daiso. ITP is where the computer game store was located. Fairly sure it was called 'Gamesworld' or something similar. So we must be referring to the same computer game store on level 2. It was still open in the late 1990s, but not sure when it started or ended trading. Fun times. :)

Saw about 5 of the rodimus War for cybertron at Bigw today. They'll be like $108 or something like that on the Toy sale next week. Same as what looks like the 86 Grimlock in the catalog picture on the front page should be half price at $44. Seems to line up with being that toy as regular price is $88.

Kmart Garden City yesterday afternoon...

A new wave of Rescue Bots Rescan (with the new mould monster truck Optimus), and the big Hotshot electronic firetruck.
A heap of wave 1 Earthrise Micromaster 2-packs, for just $7.
Also... the shelf-tag is up for the Netflix Voyager packs, so they should be getting them... hopefully wave 3.

Then over at BigW... the pre-pack display was near the front of the store.
It only has all the older figures in it that were in the first one that was seen on here, so I'm thinking that Hasbro Australia stocked these displays with all of their remaining old stock, which resulted in some of them having new wave 3 stock... so I think if you are lucky to have a store that has wave 3 stock, you might be the only ones to get them until wave 3 hits other stores later.
They had a lot of Sky Lynx toys, but no Rodimus that I could see. And nothing new in the regular section.
Meanwhile, they now have two different Zodeki statue sets (Avengers and X-men), so maybe BigW will get the Transformers ones as well.

Dropped in at Big W Carindale. Pretty much the same as Garden City. 2 x Megatron. Heaps of Magnus. No Roddy. Everything else we have had out for months.

Myer has Magnus and Roddy.

Just did a run past the North lakes Big W and Kmarts this morning... No Netflix Wave 3 in sight, still have the ticket up for the Voyagers though.

Big W had the following for the sale out (at this time):

10x Each SS Deluxe B127 and SSDino
4x SS72 Voyager Starscream
10x SS86 Leader Grimlock & Wheelie

Kingdom Core Class - All WFC-K1 to K3. (Optimus, Rattrap, Vertebreak). No wave 2 or 3.
Kingdom Deluxe - All Wave 1 (Cheetor, Black Arachnia, Warpath, Paleotrex)
Kingdom Voyager - Dinobot and Inferno (Couldn't see any Primal or Cyclonus) - didnt count them, lots though.
Kingdom Leader - 8x Glavatron (the reversed/incorrect shoulders), 2x Earthmode Magnus (No Beast Megs, if they are on the display they are at the far back).

As of now, Big W Northlakes has put ZERO Rodimus or Skylynx out. Been checking every few days in store - so if anyone misses out, this may be the store to get them as the Transformers section is still empty.


Edit: Kmarts website wasnt working right earlier... it shows Netflix Deluxes as being in stock in store at Kipparing, going to do a drive out now and see if there is any on show.

She said that its a "new item" (although it still shows pictures of Wave 1/2) but one store shows them as being in stock - Victoria Point and they only have 2x units (if stock is correct). Don't feel like driving that far today to find out so, good luck hunters out there :D

I went to Kawana Waters and Sunshine Plaza (Maroochydore) Big Ws in hope of finding Galvatron.

Kawana Waters only has 2-3 Kingdom Leaders left, all Ultra Magnus & BW Megs.
Sunshine Plaza had plenty of everything, but again, only UM & BW Megs in Kingdom Leader class.

I called Nambour and Noosaville and asked what Kingdom Leaders they had, but they also only have UM & BW Megs.

The one interesting thing I DID see at Kawana Waters Big W, was wave 3 Core Class: Soundwave * the green dino.

I also checked Kmart @ the plaza and they did not have any Netflix figures.

As for the Netflix Voyagers - I really hope those Hotlinks were just the remaining old stock that that store (or the warehouse) had been sitting on... as it would really suck if we had a third release of wave 1 (I never saw wave 2 in any stores near me - someone else had to get them for me).

Meanwhile, over at Carindale Kmart - yesterday someone of facebook sent a photo of 16 Deluxe Netflix toys (4 of each, which means they must have had 2 cases). Just 25 hours later (today), I got there to see that there were only 6 left... with all of the black Ironhides already gone.
After grabbing one of each of the remaining 3 toys, and a Cheetor for a friend, that Kmart now only has 2 left - a Cheetor and a Sparkless Bot.
Something to note - they got in a LOT of Rescue Bots Mega Mighties (wave 2 I think - just Optimus and Heatwave)... for a tiny $7 (originally $20).
Plus, the 5th wave of Cybervese Deluxe figures (Kmart are the cheapest store at $29), and the newest Rescue Bots Rescan (monster truck Optimus).
It's quite a lot of toys for a Kmart store, even if most of them are Rescue Bots.

I am heading back in store tomorrow to grab some eShop credit, so I will update with stock levels. Thats pretty bad if it is the only two stores to get it. That being said, it seems very random what stores got for the sale. There was no Beast Megs or Core wave 3 at Northlakes.. Absolutely no stock of Rodimus or Skylynx either, so I would be interested to see the stock levels tomorrow.

I won't be heading back towards the South side for a few days now, so can't account for any other stores - they would likely sell out of Galv before I passed through.

If you're looking for an update on that stock situation, when I went back to Capalaba today that second Galvatron that my girlfriend found had been taken, as had all of their Kingdom Leader stock except for 3 Ultra Magnus. An interesting side note on Galvatron: I walked over to the EBGames/Zing after checking BigW to see if they could cancel my Rodimus Prime / Galvatron preorders even though they're at the Carindale store, indeed they were able to, but before they did they informed me that Galvatron is apparently being released tomorrow. So if the other stores are getting their stock at the same time as Zing we might see him in large numbers soon.

Overheard one of the workers on the phone saying that they've turned off click and collect for the store and also that they had 4 Galvatron but sold at full price. She mentioned it was a dinosaur thing, which is BW Megatron and one leader they did have, so not sure how reliable that statement is.

As I was walking out, a collector ran past me with what I presume was one of the Galvatrons in his hand. And then on my way to Big W another collector passed me with which I will presume was the last Galvatron and an Earthmode Mags. Strangely, 2x Kingdom Huffer and 2x Arcee were on the shelf alone with 1x Rattrap.

Big W (and almost any other brick and mortar retailer) doesn't distinguish between Transformers waves for the whole line, so a wave 5 deluxe will cost the same as a wave 1. It also works for sales, as any newer stock that arrives during it, will also be discounted. Where it fails is online, as there's no way to distinguish what you want, becoming luck of the draw.

Big W Runaway Bay - Toy sale has items scattered across the store. Your Rodimus Prime is directly in the center of the store (past chocolates, turn right at whitegoods and walk halfway down the isle). There are 13 Rodimii at the moment (likely because its hard to find). Your welcome!

There's also a palette of Studio Series/Kingdom, with the $44 Leaders (Grimlock, Magnus, Megatron) going quite quickly. Still plenty there, along with the Studio Series Voyagers (Starscream, Hot Rod) as well.

Not much in the actual Transformers section, as they haven't restocked in awhile. Just a couple of Earthrise Deluxe Ironworks, and some of the Cyberverse toys.

There was just ONE kingdom leader class figure in the store when the doors went up on sale day. I dare say either the gentleman did not know what he was on about or he opted to tell you porkies because its never fun informing a customer you had no stock at the start of a sale.

Got a call today that my Galvatron preorder was ready at Zing Carindale. I’d kept it just incase they got a shipment with the correct shoulder assembly. Unfortunately they got ones which were incorrectly assembled, so I didn’t end up getting him. So if anyone is looking for Galvatron and doesn’t care about the shoulders, Zing Carindale probably has a surplus figure now.

I really hate hearing (or seeing) that sort of thing happening. The service desk staff wouldn't know the difference, or even think it is the wrong item in the packaging, as product images can be different to the production figure.

BigW - an unexpected restocking during the toy sale was unfortunately NOT Kingdom or Studio Series. (Not entirely unexpected, as I was tipped off by board member KarnivalPrime). It is a "Rescue Bots" styled toy that will be on sale in next week's catalogue (starting July 1st) for $49 (regular price right now is $69).
Still heaps of sale toys left... actually, with so many now in two other parts of the store, I'm thinking that this store did get more stock in, but nothing from the newer waves.

I would imagine that EB Games/Zing stores might not be open in SE QLD for the next 3 days... which will mean people who pre-ordered Transmutate will have to wait until Saturday to get it (if the lockdown isn't extended, and those stores aren't open at this time).

I honestly don?t know what to look for with shoulders being assembled/misassembled but the advantage of Toymate is that you can at least inspect before you buy.

I like to look at the little circular protrusion at the far edge of Galvatron's chest (or where the vertical ridge meets the 45 degree angled one just below the circular protrusion - bit easier to see from afar). These molding landmarks should sit level with the bottom half of the rectangular slot on the front of the shoulder. It they are above or at the top of the slot, then it's wrong.

If you have any outstanding pre-orders at this store and they haven't been able to contact you, you need to call them up and let them know which other store you want your pre-orders to go to.

And if you have Tricranius on order, you'll need to pick it up by tomorrow... or it will be shipped to a nearby store and wait for you there.

I certainly didn't go there just to pick up a toy, and didn't suggest that others do it as well.

This EB Games is next to a Coles, and since I was there for groceries (and checked in with the app), it wasn't any additional covid risk going next door with my shopping and having them hand out my single item through their partially closed roller door (they remained open for their click and collect orders, but people weren't able to enter the store or get close to the staff... something that the grocery stores don't/can't do, which makes them a higher risk than this EB Games store).

That was a sad day for me too... I'd bought a lot of stuff from that HJ, especially when seeing a movie and taking in a bag of cheeseburgers and onion rings.
Just about every western franchise store is now gone from the plaza. The only things left I go there for now are the post office, Coles and kmart.

Hasbro Australia must have been dumped with a LOT of those Cyber series Commander class Optimus and Bumblebees to now be showing up at Toymate, after several years of release at Aldi.

Meanwhile at Kmart Calamvale - one single Netflix Voyager Optimus, and the new Buzzworthy RID Crash Combiner 2-packs for $29 each.
Also, 4 different Rescue Bots Mega Mighties, and I think we had Hotshot last year, so that would mean we got all 5 here.
And several Deluxe Arcee toys left as the only Kingdom Deluxes... which was expected, since it was released in Earthrise, and it is a very pink toy for the regular shoppers who buy random toys as gifts, based on gender stereotypes of the recipient.

Popped in at Garden City yesterday afternoon, hoping to find wave 3 Voyager Netflix, and looking for something for an American that they didn't get (the grey Cyberverse Scout Bumblebee), but I think it's too late as I haven't seen it for a while.

BigW - nothing new from last time I was there. Seriously, the photo looks exactly the same as the ones I took three weeks ago. I know we had a 10 day lockdown during the middle of it, but other stores have managed to sell some of their stock or had a restock in the last two weeks.

Kmart - A heap of Buzzworthy Crash Combiner 2-packs to join their heaps of Buzzworthy Bumblebee/Spike packs. Plus a heap of the Rescue Bots Mega Mighties that have shown up at other stores in the last week or so, which includes four of the five different ones released back in 2019.
Oh, and they had four Netflix Voyagers, but was wave 2. Ironically, this was the first time I had actually ever seen Soundwave in a store (and the first time I had ever seen Optimus just 2 days earlier). I took the photo before I had to take one of each for someone else, so there is actually just two Soundwaves left.... sorry for the tease, but with Calamvale having Optimus (and I haven't checked Sunnybank), that could be a pair for one lucky person.
The bad news for the sealed collectors was all four of the Netflix Voyager boxes had a long cut mark along the top or bottom, or both, from when they cut open the master carton at the store. (I don't know how they managed to cut both top and bottom... as if they had cut the master carton at both ends before taking the items out.)

BTW, I noticed a lot of Transformers toys with security wiring over them at Kmart, so I asked one of the staff and they said that they do it now with anything over $35 on select toylines (like Lego, and I guess Transformers)... which would be a lot of Transformers products (if they stocked the more expensive size classes).

Yeah I feel you. For the most part it's a pointless set and that box is way oversized. For me though it was that Nemesis Primal, loved the colours and had to have him for my Nemesis Prime. Fangry is nice as I don't have many headmasters, and the mutant Arachnia looks great in spider form.

Might see if I can find a wild Skullcruncher and Weird Wolf today to join them.

Today at BigW Garden City - they appeared to have restocked their Kingdom Deluxes, but only wave 2. The excitement of thinking that I had found wave 3 (to get Wingfinger), was short lived.
They also look to have had a recent restock of Studio Series Voyagers, but it was a previous wave with Hotrod and Mv6 Starscream.

The most noticeable new stock at this BigW (since my last visit), was a big selection of Rescue Bots... including the big electronic Rescue Bots Hotshot ($69), the Dinobots 3-pack ($53), and both waves of the Rescue Bots Rescan Classic Heroes Teams figures ($22).
The thing that amazes me is how BigW used to be the price-leaders, but Kmart are cheaper for all of these... $59 for the electronic Hotshot, $39 for the 3-pack, and $19 for the Rescan figures.

It is a shame that so many of these came here and was exclusive to just one retailer. If it was a regular release, the numbers in every store and retailer would have been very little, and many would have sold out by now... but this sheer number at just one retailer makes it look bad, and probably had an impact on future exclusives that we will miss out on. (I don't think we were going to get the Origin Bumblebee here originally, but this backlog of a related figure and character would probably have prevented it from coming here later if there was unshipped stock in Asia.)
