As for the transformers movie, I love the soundtrack. Whenever any of the metal songs come up on my ipod, I have it blasting and belt it out, even when I'm at work. Great stuff.

Might as well tell you guys what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna be a viking :D I've started training in a medieval fight group where we dress up in armour and smack each other with swords shields axes and spears. No Widget? Ferals?
I eventually grew to really dislike "Widget: The World Watcher" over time, I'm really not a fan of that purple, shape-shifting space hippy. :p
Now "The Ferals"; that was awesome...
Primarily because of a Rat, named Rattus, being the leader of the bunch - A Cat called Modigliana, as she was fuzzy but also tough - Darren was just a dopey Dog but Mixy was a muddled-up mixed-up Bunny... and that was the Ferals for ya. ;)
(Horribly, horribly paraphrased but you get the point :p:D)
"Feral TV" sucked though, absolutely sucked the scunge of the sewer they supposedly resided in - I really felt sorry for them by that point. :(
It's "Roger Ramjet and his eagles, fighting for our freedom..." I used to know the song off by heart lol
Oh sue me for getting 4 words at the end of a line to a theme song I've not heard in 10-15 years wrong! :p:D
(For the record, it should read: "Roger Ramjet, he's our man, Hero of our nation...":p)
What about Mr Bumpy? And Bangers and Mash? I want all these shows on dvd dammit lol. Super Ted was always one of my favourites.
Mr. Bumpy's "Bump in The Night" is and always will be wicked, "Bangers & Mash" were classic in their monkey business but all I want to know is where I can get a hold of some of that Spotted Man's magic dust! :D:cool:

Unfortunatly he doesn't have finished eyes so any ideas bout that, throw them my way. I also got 2.5 kg prawns and on the way to getting my roast rabbit. I saw lots of things i wanted and picked out over a grand worth of 'i want that'. We are also getting a little dinky not too embarissing car. I can drive it but my oartners gonna get the driving test done and bye bye money. At least no more bus and taxi. More transformers money. Thats a good thing right?! Ahh nah my back tailbone thing is just crazy. It vairies between fix and not fix. If i ever get a walking frame, its gonna bee Bbbbbeeeeeeeee shaped. Or castle shaped. Cause i'm a princess...

Given the Sideswipe mold experience I have not a lot of confidence for a Hasbro release. Besides which theres not much wrong with TT masterpieces except the price.

Price does matter though. Being more expensive isn't necessarily bad if the toy can justify that price - which I find recent TakTOM MPs don't. But at least by preordering we're gonna get this toy at below retail prices which makes it more worthwhile. I don't find any of the recent MPs worth paying full RRP for.
Although the weakened AUD makes it hurt more. At least the AUD was still above parity w/ the USD when MP Lambor came out -- mine cost about $50 at preorder price. I'm being charged the same preorder prices for my Nissan MPs in JPY, but converted to current AUD prices it's about $56. :o I'll probably get Bluestreak and Prowl shipped together (mebbe w/ some other JP toys I've got incoming/waiting) to save on postage.

This was a couple days ago, but I thought I'd mention it.
I was at Good Games in Melbourne, because my brother was getting some stuff. I was looking through the Yugioh folders for some cards to support my Kuriboh cards and I found "Berserker Crush" in the $3 folder. So I picked it out and was about to pay for it.
However, just before, this guy comes up to me and says he found one in the $1 folder. I thanked him and he said he felt compelled to do it.
Nice to know there are people like him who are willing to help out someone save a couple dollars. :) It was a small thing but it restored a little hope in humanity for me. He was a nice guy.

Yes a Google Play account is essential, at least I don't know how you get apps without one.
essential apps, really depends on your interests,
comixology
beyond pod (Podcast player)
poweramp (music player that shows a compilation album only once)

algeo calculator
80s cartoon soundboard
3Gwatchdog (if you're putting it on a phone/data plan of any sort)

there are some great soundboards out there (80's cartoon, portal 2)

Gotta say, I'm having so much damn fun doing medieval fighting right now. Did more training today, wife made me a tunic to wear, one of the guys is making me a belt, wife making my pants, and another fighter gave me a helmet I have to work on to make it mine. Quite cool looking too.
Picked up the spear again today, only 2nd time since first using one to see how I went, over 2 months ago. And already one of the head trainers said I have the best accuracy save for him and another head trainer. I didn't think I'd like spear, but it's actually quite fun. Might have to train on it more.

Not to take pleasure in another's suffering, but... kinda to take pleasure in another's suffering.. i'm pleased today because after 2+ years of trying to convince my boss to fire someone, it's finally going to happen next week.
Good news, but it's a bit bittersweet in that it took so long, and in no way signifies a change in attitude towards the speedy firing of incompetent morans instead of letting them slowly destroy the company.

I’m not an investor. People always tell me, you should have your money working for you. I’ve decided I’ll do the work. I’m gonna let the money relax. You know what I mean? ‘Cause you send your money out there – working for you – a lot of times, it gets fired. You go back there, “What happened? I had my money. It was here, it was working for me.” “Yeah, I remember your money. Showing up late. Taking time off. We had to let him go.

Hehe. :D
Sadly, no, I don't have the entire 62 novel run as I only ever owned a handful and they were kindly donated to the local Vinnies when I entered High School - Unbeknownst to me by my parents. :(
(I also tended to borrow many from a mate who between he & his elder Brother had the whole lot ;):))
A key draw for me with the series was T. Jacobus' utterly stunning artwork for the covers, they gave such a brilliant mental base-line for what to picture in your mind's eye (Especially to an 8-12y/o ;)) and if said covers were ever to be released in some type of 'Print' form? - I'd collect the lot in a heartbeat.
My favourite story? - Easily the "Night of The Living Dummy" series, specifically parts I (http://goosebumps.wikia.com/wiki/Night_of_the_Living_Dummy), II (http://goosebumps.wikia.com/wiki/Night_of_the_Living_Dummy_II) & III (http://goosebumps.wikia.com/wiki/Night_of_the_Living_Dummy_III) as I never caught any of the subsequent entries (By which time I was in High School + I think they took place in a splinter line of Goosebumps books :o), the subject matter & lead character Slappy (The happy chap adorning my Avatar & Sig :D) have stuck in my memory for many years although admittedly the actual stories have heavily faded...
That's why I picked these up a couple of weeks ago! :D

Low risk, but also low reward. A good option for when you're still working out what you want to do, provided you are positive you can commit to the full term, otherwise it's a complete waste.

Unfortunately due to HR laws and silly modern bureaucracy, it is very difficult to fire someone if they are incompetent. It is easier to do so if they did something really bad like harassment or fraud but incompetence is not really something you can get them on. It is too much of a massive bureaucratic hassle that may proof more of a burden and risk to the manager than the 'unreliable' employee. As a result, many managers would rather suffer an incompetent or lazy employee than do something about it. My previous company was notorious for that.
I say you are lucky it's being done at all. I know of 'lifers' who have been doing a half assed job for maybe 10 years and still there.

The company i work for is pretty small and so the main reason incompetent people get to freeride for a while is due to cash flow (he was in sales and the company has the mindset "any sale's better than none", sigh) or the fact that in this case, the 'boss' is the person who has to pick up the slack of the fired individual.
They have less problems firing someone when it results in more work for everyone else, but when he has to pick up the slack? Very reluctant! In the end it seems the staff member who got the boot was just made redundant 'amicably', ie just the nicer, easier way out. However it happened though i'm glad it did! The positive effects of just losing a strain on the company is seen immediately.
Congratz! Once you are debt free, you pretty much have free reign on all your income.
Tell me about it! I remember discussing with you several years ago the pro's and con's of renting versus home owning. It didn't dawn on me until i realised how quickly we could pay off the mortgage, that that is the true benefit of going from rental to home owner. For a while we were paying more than we did while renting of course, but now i don't have to pay anything!
It's a bit daunting to be honest, i intend to keep saving so i can safely move to Japan and live the easy life one day, but knowing how quickly my savings are going to go up, already i'm eyeing up things to buy that i shouldn't be!

Where did you find that?!
JB HiFi. As it's a new release, they're selling the set for about $37, but I suspect they'll be raising the price back up to $48 within the next few days/week or two.
how does it compare to the traditional Frew Phantom we all know and love?
Honestly, it depends on what you're looking for in a series, and Phantom 2040 isn't exactly everyone's cup of tea. Suffice it to say, I enjoy the show immensely, though I do have a habit of liking things others don't.
To give you an idea of what the show's like, many elements were reused in "The Phantom VS Singh Brotherhood 2050!" (aka Frew #1276), such as the futuristic designs, orbital space platforms, and high-tech living. As with "2050!", the show has its own unique art style designed by Peter Chung (whom used a similar style for his celebrated "Aeon Flux" property) which I suspect is where most of the complaints lie.
If you can get past the character designs and the show's tendency to be quite preachy when laying down environmental messages (though it's far more subtle than Captain Planet ever was, and serves towards an overall 'Nature VS Technology' subplot), then you should have fun with it.
Characterization is one of the show's greatest strengths (Kit thrust into a role he has no desire or experience to, Rebecca's snide confidence yet sadness over losing her husband), as virtually every character has their own unique story, trials and tribulations, plus their decisions can (and do) alter the show's final outcome. The voice actors, while 'name' celebrities, truly do give it their all (in particular Scott Valentine/Kit Walker, Margot Kidder/Rebecca Madison, Jeff Bennett/Maxwell Jr., and Mark Hamill/Doctor Jak) and help the audience buy into their characters.
Animation-wise, it's not a visual masterpiece (though I am fascinated by the CGI/traditional mix for Metropia), and the DVDs themselves aren't exactly as crisp and clean as I had hoped (though maybe it's because I'm watching it on a large widescreen television), or expected from 5 episodes a disc. It's still watchable, but could be improved. Plus I have to mention the music (especially main theme) is superb.
In short, definitely worth giving it a go. May take a little time adjusting, but a great tale in the end.

I thought it was well established on another thread that the only way anyone was willing to cough up coin for Ultimetal Prime was to win the Jackpot of a $20 million Tatts draw. I'm still hopeful. :p

Watched on the TV news today where a man had spent 3 days in an upturned boat at the bottom of the sea bed. Yes 3 days! A salvage team went to retrieve the tug boat and to their surprise found the man standing chest high in water. Lucky for him there was a pocket of trapped air, but I can't imagine what would be going through his mind in those 3 days. What a remarkable story of survival (& rescue).

Waiting for the parcel is doing me in and they don't seem to deliver on Saturdays? Why not?
It took a day to get from Auckland to Sydney, and I think its STILL IN SYDNEY! How long does it take to put a box on a truck and drive from Sydney to Wollongong?
Still very excited that the parcel is coming though : )

A couple weeks ago at Woolies near me, they put up one of their "orange savers" (a discount with the Rewards card) that didn't make sense... so I told them about it and it was removed.
Last week, they were back up... so I took a photo to share their stupidity.
http://www.toycollectors.com.au/blog/b750.jpg
Yes... if you show your Rewards Card, you can buy the juice for MORE than the regular price. It might only be one cent more, but if you bought 3 or more, the rounding off would make it more expensive using your "discount" card.
But then again, maths have never been a strength at Woolies...

Saw Satyricon, Amon Amarth and Gwar tonight. Was glorious. Got covered in fake blood, and am now sitting at work waiting until I sign on. Was going to just go up to the desk covered in blood but thought better of it :p

Pretty stoked with it I still got one more session of line work to go at least adding in Kraven, Venom and the Lizard then at least 2-3 sessions of colour so somewhere between 12 and 15 hours at a guess.... at least I get mate rates for if bit still going to ccost a bit...

So tomorrow, I'll have enough money to order Swerve and Cosmos from BBTS. Thing is though, Swerve and Cosmos come out in late April. After checking out shipping, I thought I'd work out how much shipping it is for Swerve, Cosmos, Skrapnel and Tailgate. About $60 shipped, which at my rate of $10 a week, I should easily be able to afford all 4 by late March/early April. So why not keep going? I worked out by the start of May, I'll essentially have $113 AUD. So, I added Rattrap to my cart. Works out to $95.24USD, which I can afford at the current state of the dollar, which is 90 cents. So, I've just found out the wonders of the BBTS POL. :) Now I only need the dollar to stay on or above 90 cents.
