Read dirge's review of legends Megatron (http://www.cliffbee.com/reviews/genlegendsmegatron.php) the other day and have to say that I completely disagree. I actually rate it above the Masterpiece toy for the size and price that it is.

WFC Megatron is my favourite ever version of the character. I wasn't keen on it when I saw it in photos but once I had it in hand, I fell in love with it. Brilliant figure.

If you've seen the latest episode of TF Prime... then hell YEAH he got the Power!! :eek: I'm using Drift's 天下無双 ("Peerless Under Heaven") sword in place of the Star Sabre -- I tried using Kicker's, but the handle was too small (the only Energon/Super Link weapon that doesn't use the standard 5mm post/hole system :rolleyes: -- and I didn't want to carry the Mini-Con version around yesterday in case I lost one :p)

Thanks! It's totally worth a try if you have a Wheeljack to spare. The trickiest part would be getting the green paint out of the air vents on the bonnet. That took a good half hour with several toothpicks and the good old methylated spirits.

I quite enjoy the idea of building an Army of Vehicons, but without using any doubles - and in this case, no need to "cheat" by replicating the same Vehicon over and over again with MSPaint :D). Yeah okay, there are two Legion Class Vehicons in the background, but they're just the background and not really part of the "main action." :p I'd really like to get Hasbro TFPRiD Vehicon to add to my Vehicon Army :)

Yes, but I don't do so by buying straight out doubles. When I army build I do so by collecting variants. This is nothing new, look at my G1 Insecticons. I have the G1, TFC reissue and eHobby Insecticlone version of all 3 Insecticons, allowing me to build an army of 9 G1 Insecticons but _none_ of them are doubles.

So currently I have 3 Deluxe TF Prime Vehicons, but none of them are doubles because I have First Edition Vehicon, Arms Micron Vehicon and Arms Micron Jet Vehicon -- and I would like to get TFPRiD Vehicon (which is a variant of AM Vehicon, but not the same toy). I've never been against the concept of army building per se... I'm just not into collecting lots of the same toy and claiming that as an army. When I used to collect Star Wars I built a small army of Clone Troopers, no two of my Clone Troopers are the exact same toy... but Hasbro pumped out (and still do pump out) enough different Clone Trooper toys that you can build a big army of them without needing to rely on "hoarding" lots of the same figure. :) I did the same with Beast Machines' Vehicons. e.g. I have 1 Tankor and 1 Tank Drone, 1 Ultra Jetstorm and 1 Deluxe Jetstorm (I use the Deluxe as the Aerodrone since Sonic Attack Jet was never released in Australia), 1 Thrust and 1 Motorcycle Drone, 1 Universe Obsidian and 1 BM Obsidian etc.

If you look here, you can see that no two of these Clone Troopers are identical. They're all different figures. If I were to build an army of Transformers like Vehicons, I'd like to do so the same way.

I got mine via Amazon like a lot of forum members, and it seemed like Tetsuwan Convoy was also experiencing the same issue with Brawl's feet (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=330841&postcount=84), so it appears to be a common QC issue with this variant at least (probably in the rush to get it to retail).

I'm not sure if I can be bothered with returning to Amazon so they could return it to Hasbro and get back to me -- assuming that back and forth may take 6-8 weeks if I'm lucky.

The first one I got had deformed wing pegs and stress marks on the canopy tabs as soon as I even tried to transform it. I went and exchanged/refunded this toy like five times -- each toy was defective, even after going to different stores in different locations. In the end I settled with a toy that still had the canopy stress marks, but no deformed wing pegs. Then I later got a TakaraTOMY Animated Blitzwing without the defects. :p

I'm not sure if I can be bothered with returning to Amazon so they could return it to Hasbro and get back to me -- assuming that back and forth may take 6-8 weeks if I'm lucky.

For the record, my Brawl is the FOC green carded version (same as Goktimus posted on the previous page), and unlike the other single Combaticons, his joints are incredibly loose. The problem isn't so much his feet, but how he can barely keep his legs together.

And then there is the fact he feels smaller than the other members (sans Vortex), especially when compared to Swindle. Then again, Swindle is mostly hollow, thus gives the optical illusion he's huge.

Not too sure about the FOC G2 Brawl, as I am yet to open the set to verify.

Eeehhh... not yet convinced that I want Hot Spot. I initially just wanted Classicsverse Inferno and Grapple. I got Pyro because it's cheaper than getting an original that's likely to fall apart on me (having said that, Pyro cost me $80, making him my most expensive exclusive toy [and one of the most expensive toys I've ever paid for in relative terms (i.e. compared to RRP)). I got Artfire for similar reasons... I'm not willing to pay the aftermarket prices for the G1 toy - $62 for United Artfire is a much more agreeable alternative.

But Hot Spot... I dunno. I already have G1 Hot Shot, and I don't feel the urge to have him in my Classicsverse collection. I already have enough versions of this mould. If he were a new mould like Silverbolt and Onslaught I'd definitely get him, but as a retool/repaint... eh. :o Maybe if he's still cheap when I've got nothing else to save up for or buy (currently still saving for Encore Fort Max!)


Did you get Stepper too?
Nah, I didn't bother preordering it because I already have reissue G1 Stepper, and I'm really not that big a fan of the RtS Jazz mould (the non-locking chest thing really bugs me), so I passed it and I haven't been able to find one at a price that I'm willing to pay ($50 is the most I've ever paid for an exclusive Deluxe). The cheapest Stepper I found was for about $70-80ish in Japan last year... for a Deluxe?!? Pppfftt... easy pass. Sure, in hind sight I wish I'd preordered Stepper and just gotten him at the original RRP (4700JPY/AU$51)... but I didn't know at the time that they would do a United Artfire later. If I could predict the future, I'd retire and win every Lotto game. :) So all things considering, I'm happy with what I've got. :)

Nice photography! Very nice set of Henkei/United guys. I didn't get a closer look at United Straxus before getting Generations Darkmount, in hindsight I think I would have preferred this one - his face looks much nicer.

+ I can't find them in brick and mortar stores (online shopping is mostly an alien concept to me :p)
...if I could find them in local stores (even specialty import stores) at cheap prices, then I'd reconsider. ;)

Today as I was taking the long and tedious drive home in rush hour traffic, I started playing out Transformers in my mind with all the voices and sound effects (as ya do)... and then I started vocally acting out Transformers The Movie, but in a Shattered Glass Universe. As part of it, I imagined Rodimus carrying a beaten Optimus Prime and throwing him out of Omega Supreme into space. There's a drawn out fight between the Aerialbots vs Blaster and his Cassettes and all the other Autobots vying for leadership, Unicron rebuilds Megatron & other fallen Autobots as Ultra Magnus, Kup (and his huntsmen the Chars) and Blurr and his Armada (who are promptly never seen again ;)). Cut to Cybertron and we see Rodimus being crowned the new Autobot King of Destruction. Rodimus grows tired of the Aerialbots' crappy trumpeting and shoots their horns, then Springer places the crown on Rodimus' head as he declares himself as their new monarch...

No, I don't own any Shattered Glass toys nor do I own MP-9B (black MP Rodimus)... so I just made do with what I had. Besides, in my mind all the TFs had their normal colours (I didn't imagine them in their SG colours) -- it's just that the factions were switched around (I must admit, imagining Spike and Rumble struggling to survive Unicron's attack on Moonbase II was kinda funky ;)). But anyway, here's the same picture in black and white, in case it makes it any easier for someone to suspend disbelief and pretend it's Rodimus in his SG colours...
