Pre-ordered Hasbro Fort Max
+1
At $160, I can't imagine there being a better price around when he finally gets released at retail.
PC now has $400 of mine in preorders! Victorion, MP Primal, and Fort Max!

They took it down at 2AM because (I'm guessing) their automatic inventory controls weren't working and they wanted to make sure they didn't oversell.
They haven't posted anything about it yet -but I suspect it will go back up again at some point today. Unfortunately that just means waiting.

Oh, man :( Yeah, no announcement. Checked FB as well.
$160 is a bit pricey when compared to Metroplex at $100/$120ish. Only TRU priced him at $200.

Give it time. I think they were having some major tech issues last night and rather than just delaying the whole thing outright, they left it open for a while to avoid the wrath of the uber-keen
Or actually, they just wanted to be good to the uber-loyal.

The market has changed. The leaked/rumoured pricing for Hasbro Fort Max in the US is $149 USD.

Times have changed -- Takara's Fort Max has an RRP of 25,000 JPY (~AU$307), and PC has him for AU$240, so AU$160 for the Hasbro version is well within acceptable limits (cheap even) when you factor in the Japanese price as a measure of the figure's worth.

I think I got my Metroplex back in the day for about $150, so the extra size/bulk of Fort Max and the lower AUD/USD exchange rate makes this a steal. Still happy with the Takara version as I end up redeeming $65 worth of points bringing him to $175.

I was originally thinking the same. But I ended up ordering through PC because I now think that $160 is probably what it will sell for at Target or Myer during a typical sale. There is a chance that it will go for $100-120 on clearance but it all depends on how much stock is brought in and how it sells through.

AE is selling it for 1000¥ more than TakaraTomyMall! Wonder if they're simply buying them off the site and reselling? But then how does PC get it cheaper than the landed price from TakaraTomyMall?
Only thing I find cheeky is the $99.95 price, most people won't be buying anything else since most pre orders are sold out so it ends up being $106.90 including shipping. But still a great price.

**** UPDATE****
As a few people may have noticed mp-14+ offer has closed.
Unfortunately we have had to make a decision to reduce TT Mall exclusive items qty, for reasons that are shedding the business in a negative light.
Even though we will fill 100 percent of all TT mall orders, it has been hard to educate some our customers in some part just how difficult it is to secure the numbers we were getting.
We had hoped price and the promise that you will get your order would make a extended tolerable to customers who ordered the product well after the pre order date opens.
This will not effect general release items as they all come from the same supplier, with the TT mall we build a few relationships to get extras.
We apologise to anyone who was fine with the current process
and happy to get figures at much lower prices.
So all future TT mall offers will be very limited in number and most likely that will allow just 1 run.

Strange development. I have happily ordered the TTM exclusives through PC previously, just ordered MP-14+ through TTM directly this time to test out buying direct from Japan as insurance for future limited releases that PC may not have gotten (like EVA where they only got 2).
I have noticed some angst on the board regarding the MP Thundercracker and Ramjet pre orders, I imagine this is playing into PC's decision. Well those 8:30pm pre order starts are going to get nuts again:eek:

I just don't understand the whinging about having to wait. If you must have it as soon as it's out, then go order from somewhere that guarantees that. Don't bitch and make it worse for the rest of us who know PC is a little slower but always gets the bot to you at generally the lowest price.
So sick of seeing posts on here and FB saying "where is my [insert bot name]". Don't be so impatient people. They will arrive when they arrive and knowing the delivery date doesn't make it arrive any sooner...

Spot on!
Thing is, if you go to the US forums, people are still waiting on stock of, say Ramjet, from the bigger players such as BBTS and TFSource!
Short of ordering direct from TTMall, there's no guarantee that ordering from larger stores will get you your figure faster! We're lucky we've even got a local store that's offering these exclusive figures in the first place!

Sorry again guys, we know its small bunch in the overell scheme, but unfortunately those voices are the loudest.
and the expectation being set for us in a still growing phase is just not realistic , hence we tier shipments and try to reward the earlier orders.
This does not effect normal releases as we will still keep going with the 2 shipments in that process as well.
the good news is the 1st round shipment is 70 percent of total orders
and due to becoming the largest reseller in oz for our hasbro asia contact, there are some items we hope to have before the release date , so they can actually start shipping the day of the official release.
this is going to be a huge step and service we can offer to the super early pre orders we get.
We may revist the TT mall decision at a later time , we understand for those upset with PC that sometimes there is a wait, but unlike other suppliers we get the qty we order and fulfil our obligations.
We have introduced a express service fee which is optional for those who have placed an order months after a pre order opens and would be not getting a 1st round spot. We have based this on the OS prices of the figures to be shipped via EMS etc.
We are going to suggest people who dont like waiting should choose this option.
To avoid this and be at the top, pre orders open 8.30pm EST. We feel this will always be the TF offer time as it widely known as our default PO time.
Sometimes I suppose it is hard for people to understand how many orders we get sometimes. When we entered the scene we sold about 20 units of an item. very easy to manage orders that small and fast,
To maybe help people understand just how lucky we were with mp-11t
we were able to secure 168 units.
To make this possible we had to take allotments from a few suppliers .
this means we relied on 3 places to ship us items and how they chose to do so was going to have to be to there conveinance as we were sometimes taking numbers from other small clients of theirs.
I have run reports tonight, and I have not seen anyone who orders in the first 24 hours of a PO not be in the first round of shipments. I think anything beyond this runs the risk of getting the item later in the month .
also If you request an item to be attached to avoid shipping, this also means the item wont ship until the other item arrives.
PC has a very strong positive relationship with this group, and you guys will still be informed of upcoming pre orders at the same times as our facebook page.
on a positive note, hasbro giftsets are are still available offweb but hasbro has not signed off on official website or store listings.
but we have ETA and pricing so we have been promoting this so you guys get in first before we advertise on the big websites.

hey is there a guide somewhere to buying from ttm directly just in case I miss out in future?
I discussed the process a fair bit in the TakaraTomyMall MP Reissues thread when EVA was going up a few weeks ago.
Basically, sign up with Tenso who are a Japanese freight forwarding service. This is easy, just be aware that they have to do an ID check but that only takes a few hours to be processed.
While your waiting for ID clearance, set up an online account at TakaraTomyMall. This is where Tenso comes in handy because they help you make sure the mailing address and other personal details you input into the TakaraTomyMall account is correct. The TakaraTomyMall is in Katakana which makes it difficult to navigate on your own. I always use the google translate for each page but it's not 100%. I had a few emails back and forth with Tenso to get it all right. All the communication with them is in English.
Then actually buying from the TakaraTomyMall is reasonably straight forward and they accept international credit cards.

Gods, I cant stand entitled little twits, I only just got my shipping notification for MP Ramjet today despite being in the first batch ordered I'm pretty sure, but I understand that these things take time and while there might be a wait on some items I'm glad to wait if it means saving $50-100, which is why I didn't run around screaming "wah wah, why don't I have mine!".
Seriously, if these people want the items yesterday instead of tomorrow they should either go to Japan and collect them or order through TT Mall directly and pay for the most expensive shipping option.
Otherwise they should shut up and grow up and learn how the world works.
Seriously, this level of complaining I wonder if all the "where's mine, wahhhh!" comments are coming from americans ordering from PC, I normally only hear that level of bitching from their kind.
If they are going to place an order with an aussie retailer to get things even cheaper then they already do they should except that it will also take extra time because first it has to come to Australia then get shipped to them.
If they want it ASAP they should pay a premium and stick to their local suppliers like BBTS
I guess I'm just annoyed because these whiners are going to make it even harder for aussie battlers to get a great deal on a nice collectible from a fantastic mob like Premium Collectables!

Edit: their new $35 express shipping option is effectively the same thing... so all my verbiage was moot.
Maybe you've already alluded to this, as I seem to recall reading a post about EMS-like shipping options.
Let's pick a figure... say MP-29 (which was highly anticpated, but wasn't a TT Mall exlcusive). Something that you're going to get from different sources staggered over time.
MP-29 Destron Laserwave Takara Tomy
Standard price: $169.95 (ETA: 04/2016)
+Addon first batch quick shipment (ETA: 03/2016) + $25(or +$30, whatever)
Many sites have an add-on for C9 collector's grade boxes, etc. So offer people a first batch premium and allow the patient to save a few bucks.
I understand that you've sort of already done this by offering first/second round of figures, but for me personally... I'm usually keen to order quickly because I want the best price you're going to offer, not because I have to have it on the day of release. So I might want to order ASAP, but I don't mind waiting.
Just my thoughts, apologies if it's redundant.
Edit: looked up up what your price actually was for MP-29.

They wont offer promises that they can't deliver especially they have to price beat Australian wide prices. There isn't any point for them to offer speed post as the entire stock comes as a whole bundle.
So give and take, if you are the impatient sort, I suggest ordering from elsewhere at higher prices. I believe PC has been very generous in their pricing and free shipping $100 policy.
There is no need to change anything as the general consensus are happy with what PC is doing and providing.
Why would I need to pay extra for being first to pre order while you took your time to pre order yours in the second run? Don't make sense and definitely a turn off. People just need to learn how to wait for good prices or pay more elsewhere and have your bragging rights which I am totally cool with that.
And if you want c10 boxes then you should buy from THAT shop at that price where you be happy.
aching878

we can't simply blame either side for the change given as a consumer, who wouldn't want to have their paid for goods asap.
While as a retailer they would also definitely wish to be able to provide the goods in a timely manner so everyone is happy.
The changes will help in the long run since it gives a better guesstimate on when stocks would arrive, thus setting a better delivery expectation for customers.
obviously when/if any delivery times exceeds the original estimate by weeks / months due to unforeseen circumstances, customers are entitled to inquired about this as any consumer would, while retailer would continue address delays in a professional manner so everyone is informed and on the same page.

Ive actually noticed as well that a lot of the complainers have been saying things like "oh, it doesn't say on the site that there would be delays" but thing is it clearly DOES state when the item is estimated to arrive at PC (though I suspect that said people dont understand the concept of estimated or that the arrival date is for the item to be at the stores location) and they fail to use some common sense like, oh I dont know, that if you are ordering from overseas or you ordered towards the end of the pre order your item will take longer to get to you.
we can't simply blame either side for the change given as a consumer, who wouldn't want to have their paid for goods asapMe for one. I personally don't mind waiting, as I have previously said, if it means I pay $50-100 less and get little bonuses like Asian exclusive coins etc.
Nope that's pretty much how I read it.
Has anyone else seen the extra option at check out that moves you to the front of the line? Think it was about $35 and it allowed you to jump the queue to the front no matter how late in the pre-order you were.Yes, I saw it when I ordered anime Red Alert, I think this is a great option for the impatient buyers out there, the problem is that a lot of people are too self entitled so they will think they should get priority shipping AND free shipping AND pay less. As I said previously, a lot of the ones complaining about delays need a reality check.
I suspect maybe they're not offering it on Grimlock because it's an in-stock item? No point in jumping the queue?Yep, it's only for pre-orders. I hope more of the impatient complainers use this option instead of complaining so that PC doesnt end up having to limit their stock levels.
Unfortunately though it's a case of a few bad eggs spoiling the batch here and I (sadly) dont see things changing for the better :(

in a nut shell yes there has been feedback some items are taking longer than expected to arrive, at such going forward PC are reducing the number of PO on exclusive limited items so that they can ensure all can be sourced and delivered in a timely manner..
anyone can correct me if i mis-understood
really? wow. In that case, stuff the haters. seriously. I mean come on people, "oh noes someone else in my country/the world is getting their plastic crack before me, my life is ruined". Get a grip. My MP Hot Rod came ages after other people, did I feel a slight pang of jealousy watching others play with theirs? yes. Was it bad enough to whine about, even though I was still getting one and it was coming to me regardless??? Of course not! As far as I'm concerned the last thing PC needs is getting LESS items in, seeing as how so many things are gone in a flash and then never re-stocked!

I politely emailed twice regarding an ETA on Gen 2 Menasor.
I then posted politely as a comment on Facebook and received a reply (expected next week). Heck, I'd have been happy with "later this month".
Communication is key, but that said, unless you're dealing with someone with a bad rep (I had to hit TFI up a number of times for updates on my Apollyon after they publicly started shipping their delivery before I got a reply) I don't worry too much. A pinned "current status" post on their Facebook would go a long way, but hey, it's cost me $110 including shipping so I'm certainly not complaining!

Good points, and the way i see it is there's a middle man (due to TTMall) and we're not in Japan so ofc it's going to take longer but these things arent like something you can pick up whenever/wherever for a good price either. Good price, local, reliable/good rep, isnt that good enough?
I missed the boat on ramjet at PC and got it from RK, and frankly due to the price difference I couldnt care less that I have it in hand already (would rather that spot on my shelf stay empty for a little longer for the sake of more money in my pocket). I preordered UW-07, cheap, free shipping, paid for it and that's that, I know its going to take longer because i understand the supply chain and people who are complaining well... yes the minority are the loudest.

***** LIL BIT OF NEWS*****
So we saw many reveals last weekend at Botcon, Regarding Hasbro's products coming soon.
We have just had a meeting with our Global Hasbro Supplier,
the good news is that nearly all the platinum sets and even SDCC 2016 Exclusives should be obtainable from Premium Collectables. We dont have any more info than this, but for those wondering if they would be offered by Premium the answer is yes. The only bad news to report was that the Botcon Event Exclusives are likely not going to be released globally so we might miss out.
On a different note, there has been some overwelming support to the business regarding cutting back Takara Exclusives stock during pre orders.
We know this would worry many about missing out , so to also be able to see it from our point of view as a business and respect it has been most humbling.

Will you also be getting the "Rise of Rodimus Prime" Platinum set that was shown at the Brazil toy fair?
I haven't seen if it was mentioned at botcon or not, but I dont think it was, hence my asking about this one as well.

While sometimes things can be rough on the loyal customers, like having to cut back because of certain unsavory elements of the community, that's hardly your fault and a lot of us understand that.
Hopefully in time some sort of balance that can make everyone happy will be found, but regardless of that, keep up the good work :)

If people aren't satisfied w/ PC, then just go shop somewhere else. It's not as if PC is the world's only online supplier. Continuing to use the service of a business that you're not satisfied with makes no sense.
And here's a quick comparison between PC's prices and some of their competitors, using MP Laserwave as an example. I pay on average $8 for delivery per toy via slow-slow SAL, so I'll round that up to $10. Obviously faster shipping methods will be more expensive, but let's use this as a basic benchmark.
RRP = ¥18,144 or approx. $220 before postage, $230 in total.
AmiAmi = ¥14,970 or approx. $180 before postage, $190 in total.
HLJ = ¥13,440 or approx. $165 before postage, $175 in total.
PC = $165, free postage**
Amazon JP = ¥12,419 or approx. $150 before postage*, $160 in total.
Anime Export = ¥11,760 or approx. $140 before postage, $150 in total.
So in this example PC is roughly $15 dearer than its cheapest competitor, which isn't too bad for a small business. :) Certainly MUCH better than TRU's markup (and their toys come out way slower, albeit with sexy English translated instructions :p). And as I said before, postage costs here are based on SAL which be really slow - on average about a fortnight, although I once waited 23 days. Also, being Australian based means that obtaining recompense (e.g. exchange) for say a damaged or faulty toy may be easier.

*Unless you live in Japan, then you can enjoy Amazon's free guaranteed next day delivery service.

I pay on average $8 for delivery per toy via slow-slow SAL, so I'll round that up to $10.
Cheapest SAL shipping I could find by adding Shockwave to cart of the various Japanese stores you listed was 1180 yen (~AU$15) and that was from Anime Export.
So bringing the cheapest of the Japanese stores to 12,940 yen (~AU$155 -- straight calculation in XE before you add international exchange rates).
First round at PC was AU$150, second round was AU$170, but both rounds came with coins -- which are worth at least AU$10 and do not come with the Japanese release.
Also, PC gives you energon points which are worth at least AU$7.50+.
So Anime Export MP-29 = ~AU$155 (before international exchange rates if applicable).
PC MP-29 (second round) = AU$170 (minus AU$10 for coin, and AU$7.50 for energon points) = AU$152.50 (and if you managed to get in on the first round you are right royally laughing!).
On straight price alone PC wins, but you're also supporting a local that is going to be giving you deals on exclusives (eg: TTMall) and other items in the future (eg: Primal).

There are a few reasons why people think they are entitled to the so call quick shipping, and is because in their minds they have fork upfront and paid in full.
Pretty much I think is possible that these are the same people who also wants PC to take up Paypal so that they can cancel or file dispute and cause disruption to the business.
I am so glad PC didn't use Paypal, it would have ended up people who cant wait start doing claims and etc.....
Of course we have BBTS, HLJ and NY with their various payment or pay later options but isn't this the trade off? None of the above mentions have good rewards points.
I am glad the past 15 post or so are all understanding board members, and they all understand PC is not Hong Kong base and they don't just get the goods instantly from the factory.

I hate people. Give them something better than they had previous, and once the newness wears off they will bitch and complain until the next "better" comes along.
I actually can't believe that people have the gall to say their shipping is too slow. They've created a successful local online retailer for toys, with access to exclusives that we'd otherwise struggle to get or pay out the arse for, and these knobs wanna complain that they don't get it quickly? Piss off. Go back to ordering with BBTS or HLJ or whoever you did before hand, and stop ruining it for the rest of us.
Morons.
Edit: And to think that paying in full on preorder entitles you to anything more is ridiculous too. When you buy something, you have to pay for it 1st, IN FULL, before you own it. If you want to secure a limited item before it sells out? put your money down. It's no different from buying tickets to a megastar singer's concert months in advance and you have 3 minutes to buy then on release before they sell out. These people must live in a fantasy world
(No hate on BBTS or HLJ, they were just two that came to mind )

I can get cheaper rates because I have contacts in Japan. I normally don't like to use this comparison because it's not an option for most people, but I'm playing Devil's Advocate and comparing PC with the absolute cheapest rate just to show how good their prices are. Because even if you have Japanese contacts and can get the cheapest prices, PC only works out to be $15 dearer. But yeah, for those who don't have this option, PC's prices work out even gooder. ;)

^Agreed. This is why competition exists, and competition is healthy and good for consumers.
And I think some people are suffering from amnesia too. Do they not remember what it was like importing Japanese toys before online retailers existed?  I had to solely rely on my contacts in Japan to go shopping and post toys to me. These days I only ask my Japanese contact to get me something if the toy is either exclusive or comes with exclusive content that isn't available through HLJ. Otherwise I just use HLJ and now PC. Amazon JP hasn't offered bonus content since MP21 Bumblebee (battle mask).
So yeah, if people don't like PC then go use someone else. It's not rocket science. Also +1 on supporting local Aussie business. :)

people need to relax with all the hate to customers who wants their goods faster, this is normal consumer behavior and while some are happy to wait most are more keen to get it as soon as possible within a reasonable timeframe if one has not been defined
We can't go and fault and hate people for well, being people.
It also comes back to retailer setting a realistic expectation on eta, even if a set one is not available a guesstimate set prior to selling can goes a long way.
for example if it was set out initially that round 1 takes x weeks, round 2 takes xx weeks, and round 3 takes xxx weeks then people would have an understanding on what they are buying into and the possible turnaround if no unforeseen delay occurs.
This is from what i can see PC is doing / improving on going forward so in the long run everyone will get a better exp overall

If you're not familiar with the lingo... it's basically a reference to whether the box has been opened and re-sealed. This is often done because of a different distribution channel, such as referenced in this post (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=485254&postcount=551) where another language instructions were added before being on-sold.

I don't think it comes with a coin -- no mention on TransformersAsia.com, and there's no mention of it in the listings at BBTS and TFSource (usually they have two listings -- one with and one without coin/extra).
There's also no mention of a coin from Robot Kingdom, Loopaza or Toy Story World (on eBay).

Bear in mind that adult collectors, while a growing demographic, still comprise the minority of Transformers consumers. The majority are still kids. And even among adult collectors, I'd say that the majority of us do open our toys. According to this poll (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=5581), 79% of OTCAers play with their toys. 17.65% of respondents claim that they don't play with their toys, but that's not to necessarily say that they keep them sealed either, I don't know because there wasn't a separate option for this in the poll (perhaps I should make a new poll :o). But let's say half of non-players are sealed collectors, that would make it 8.83% of OTCAers. Also bear in mind that consumers in Hasbro markets would also make up a relatively minority of TakaraTOMY's consumer base. Even if a lot of overseas collectors are purchasing their more collector-focused lines like MPs, the "bread and butter" of TFs even in Japan is still the mainline stuff aimed at kids, such as Transformers Adventures etc.
I don't think it makes good business sense for TakaraTOMY to invest in developing specially marked sticky tape to use on their toys in order to appease such a small demographic. Although there may be a lot of sealed collectors here, we don't necessarily represent the majority of the overall Transformers consumer base -- we represent part of the adult collector demographic. And the Western adult collector demographic, thus we fall under Hasbro's jurisdiction, not TakaraTOMY's.
Ultimately, if you feel strongly enough about a suggestion, I think that the best place to submit it would be directly to TakaraTOMY themselves. Unfortunately their online survey site (https://www.takaratomyfans.com/) is still geoblocked (although apparently there are ways to circumvent it if you're keen enough), however other avenues to contact them include:
Online Contact Form (https://my.tomy.co.jp/confidential/takaratomy/csc/)
Official Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/takaratomytoys/?ref=ts&fref=ts)
Telephone, Customer Call Centre*:
Standard Japanese = 0011-81-3-5650-1031
Osaka/Kansai Dialect = 0011-81-6-6395-1031
I would recommend using either the online survey (if you can get around the geoblocking) or calling either Customer Call Centre (if you can speak Japanese or have access to a Japanese speaker), as I've personally found those to be the most effective options. Especially the call centre one. I've never used their online contact form, and while I have posted on their FB page a few times, I've never had a response from TakaraTOMY, nor have I ever seen them act on anything that I've posted there. Anyway, just suggesting. :)
-------------------------------------------------------
*Bear in mind that Golden Week (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Week_(Japan)) is coming up, so TakaraTOMY will be closed during the public holidays that fall during this time.

It's all good mate. I only see value in such tape for the Takara Masterpieces where you can't even see the figure in the box. The issue isn't so much when buying direct from a retailer, it's if it was ever onsold to someone that also wanted to keep it MISB - how do they know it's not been opened by you rather than QC'd at the factory? How do they know there is even a figure in there?
In terms of cost, it's not going to add 1,000¥ to the cost of an MP. We're talking about tape. The incremental cost would be insignificant.
However in the end, if the Japanese collectors don't feel strongly enough about this then Takara will just keep doing what it's doing.
Fortunately I've found some kind fellow collectors here that are happy to help my out with swapping double taped for single taped boxes. They get a double taped box that has been QC'd which will hopefully mean they avoid getting dud figures when they open them up. So everyone should be happy. :)

That's why I liked the window box and flap they had YOTG Soundwave in -- you could definitely see there was a figure inside.
And I do like the idea of official tape, it would make an MP something special and different, and certainly would not cost much to implement -- and i'm sure with some clever accounting could be written off.

If people are willing to KO bots and boxes, they sure as hell will KO tape. Even more so.
I'd suggest that any philosophical discussion be moved to another forum.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier Goki, I recall someone had a similar issue a while back, PC said they had to contact them via email before the order was shipped out so they could change where the order would be sent otherwise it would go to the original mailing address on the order.
Hopefully they can sort it out for you, as I've mentioned before they are normally very quick to reply whenever I've messaged them so it's probably a matter of them getting a lot of emails in a short time and having to wade through them.
What I would assume will happen is that, if no one is there to sign for the package it will go back to the courier depot, in which case PC can contact them and have it sent to your new address.
Good luck!

My local postman said that because star track are owned by auspost they can leave parcels at the nearest post office.
I for one am very pleased with the move, living in what you would call regional Australia it normally takes 4-5 days for auspost to deliver from anywhere in aus where as these freight companies it can take up to 2 weeks.

That is true, though communication is a key element to customer service, especially after having to pay full price for a pre-order plus shipping.
It's now 5 days into May, and a simple email saying 'We've spoken to our supplier, the item seems to be taking longer than expected' is enough to satisfy any customer. Cant wait to get him!

Guh, CouriersPlease have proven to be about as useful as the second 'r' in "library." Yesterday I received an SMS from them saying that my MP Laserwave had been delivered, and their online tracking said the same thing. PC even SMSed me saying that the toy had been successfully delivered. So you can imagine my surprise when I got home to find that the toy was not there. I contacted CouriersPlease and they said that nobody was home when the driver arrived. This is complete rubbish, because I had someone home all day waiting. CouriersPlease has said that they will reattempt deliver this morning, and again, someone will be home - and I even left our front door ajar (screen door locked) before I left to make it visually obvious that someone's home. No idea if CouriersPlease will actually successfully deliver the consignment... I'll believe when I have the toy in my grubby hands.
I got as far as UW Bruticus for preorder but UW Computron and Takara Fort Max, headmasters, etc will cost me a bucketload sometime later.
Not necessarily. Generations Metroplex came out at local retail at much cheaper prices than discounted online preorders, and while the initial super-cheap sales flew off shelves, subsequent orders (which weren't quite as cheap but still cheaper than online) were relatively slow to move. The same has sort of happened with CW Devastator; initially flew off shelves when Big W got them, but consequently it's been a relative slow mover. I say "relative" because bigger and more expensive toys do naturally sell slower than smaller/cheaper toys; so it's not necessarily to say that they're shelf-warming. MP2 Ultra Magnus came out here at a pretty good price and also moved slowly, and reissue G1 God Ginrai was an absolute shelf-warmer at local import stores, some of which slashed prices down to $25!
It's hard to predict. I tend to just pre-order stuff to save me time and guarantee that I'll get the toy. I hope that circumstances get better for you.

I got as far as UW Bruticus for preorder but UW Computron and Takara Fort Max, headmasters, etc will cost me a bucketload sometime later.
Still i completed the survey, goodluck PC!
Doug. .
Thank-you for the support doug,

Do we get shipping notices once a preorder is shipped? I preordered UW-06 Grand Galvatron a while ago. Preorder is sold out so I'm not sure if you (PC) have them in stock as of yet. Thanks in advance for any info.

Looked at your survey....
My workplace has a staffed reception 8am till 5pm, yet Transdirect claimed that the business was shut at 11:30am on a delivery that they needed to redeliver. Also had me in the office updating the tracking all day.
Until new service has proven their ability, I would be cautious to believe their events, as any "missed delivery" is impossible, yet I would
a) be charged (in points) despite delivery being possible
B) pay more
C) not benefit from loyalty
That said, I'm the sort quite happy to leg it out to the depot to collect if needed (I go get eBay global FedEx crap they are waiting to give to auspost for the "scheduled"delivery date")

I don't understand the need for the re-delivery fee with the move to StarTrack Express. From other comments here I thought that they can drop the package off at the local post office, in which case redelivery should not be required for the vast majority of customers?

I would also advise to consult with the customer if the missed delivery notification was legit. Because when Couriers Please first attempted to deliver my MP DestronLaserwave, the courier claimed that noone was home. This is utter rubbish because someone was home for the entire day. I ended up contacting CP and, after having words with them, arranged for a re-delivery the next day. But this was CP's fault for being slack on the initial scheduled delivery.

I had my first missed delivery from StarTrack the other day. I gave them a call and I have been advised that you can waive signature on delivery and they will leave the parcel at your door step for all future deliveries (convenient for some of us) if you fill out a form and return it to them. They are going to email me the form so I will be doing that from now on.

The Re-Delivery policy will be one of the 3 options in the survey
It already fairly evident it will be the policy we brought in or option 2
from the results so far,
The question has been modified a little to so it relates to the new carrier not
transdirect, not couriers please and not auspost .

there was no need for the fee with couriers please because the tracking was not consistent, thorugh and it could never be proven it miss deliveries were leigitimate. as such we never incurred such fees

Star Track says they're able to leave packages at an Australia Post Office (or their nearest depot) and notify the customer to pick it up there -- T&C, 3.2 (ii) (https://www.startrack.com.au/terms-conditions):
return the Goods to our nearest depot or Australia Post Office and advise you to collect the same
I personally would prefer my package be left at the nearest post office rather than for redelivery to occur.

I'm not overly fussed how you deal with it. StarTrack (at least on the phone) seemed very helpful and if they can just leave it at my place it should be fine. Touch wood, in 4 years at my current place I've never had a package swiped.

Apparently PC has indicated you have to pay for the cost to a parcel locker.
Yes I was hoping your statement was the direction I wanted however this isn't the case.
I don't see what's the point having free shipping or paid shipping for the matter to your home address and is tough luck if you are not in just because you are at work or other urgent matter to attend to and you be charged for a missed delivery?
Saying that can we charge them if they don't deliver? No right?
My point exactly.
I have just received a item yesterday and Australia post is stating charges may apply in August.
Personally what's the whole point? I might as well start a new business as a collection centre and make money of of this.

Charges start after ten business days. If you can't get to a post office in two weeks (or have someone do it on your behalf) maybe you need to look at where you're getting your deliveries sent to.

You are not wrong, perhaps is best I give my friend's grocery store address in this case as they are open till late and 365 days open. Which I am trying to avoid troubling other people.
I think if parcel is to be made a redelivery attempt, yes maybe is okay to charge (Maybe...as stated Goki has indicated someone was in but they didn't knock.)
But if I am to rearrage to pickup from the PO or depot when missed, it should not be charged.
There isn't a so call deliver on Saturday and Sunday option where we are all at home etc...
Oh and update, it is a parcel from PC which stated it delivered yesterday when My mother in law and wife are both at home.

I've been getting all my PC shipments sent to my work since the first one had issues with my home address. (courier issue, not PC)
Raider, my work has a similar reception set up, I've never had you're experience, that's pretty rough.
I like the idea of the courier company leaving your parcel at the post office if you're not at home, it's a bit secondary to the poll, but a great service option.
I voted for the 1st option which is the new existing policy, only because I'm fortunate enough to have a work which will accept parcels on my behalf and I've never had a problem with that. having $10 worth of points deducted from you're points balance, is a worst case scenario where you miss out on some imaginary money, so I think it's a interesting novel solution.
For those who are unable to have parcels delivered to their work, I feel that either Auspost or the suggestion people have been making about couriers dropping parcels off at the local post office is a much preferred solution to a regular courier service that will not leave unattended or at a post office.
thanks PC for asking our opinions.

Well I'm pretty happy with StarTrack so far. I asked them yesterday to leave the package at my door step and when I got home tonight there it was waiting for me (I'm lucky to have a good neighbourhood) so perfect start to this new relationship. Dear Premium Collect, so you are using auspost/StarTrack now? I ordered a couple of items and put my parcel locker at the post office as the address, so I should get my items right? If they get delivered to my home, my wife will damage them beyond recognition and end up in landfill.... StarTrack left a card asking me to collect from lpo. Card says open Saturday but went there today is not open for Saturday.

So mean I am forced to take some time off from work to get to it.

According to PC is not which was why I am questioning since StarTrack is their official pick now. This would have solved all missed delivery for my situation.
I understand if there is a charge if other couriers are used.
http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/parcel-lockers.html
* Parcel Lockers terms and conditions apply. Collection time limits apply. Fees and charges will apply to carriers other than Australia Post and StarTrack to lodge parcels under the Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect (Post Office) services. This cost may be passed on to customers.
So can PC please clarify if you are just using StarTrack or you are still using other couriers? As if its StarTrack, then we should have no problems giving a parcel locker address at no extra cost, as big items such as Fort Max would be picked up at that collection point anyway.
