Does anyone know what PC are going to receive their MP Ratchet stock? I preordered mine in mid-November and that toy came out over a month ago and I've heard nothing from PC about it.

Same story here.
I think it will be in June with my Ramjet. If not sooner
Unfortunately, it is a big trade off buying from PC as these items are in huge quantities by boat I believe. Hence we are getting those good prices.
All in all, I am prepared to wait but some eta notifications would be nice sometimes.

Yeah agreed they really need to have expected ETAs (not just for the 1st round orders).
I did finally get my Ratchet delivery notification today, even though i ordered as soon as the 2nd round opened after missing out on the first "special" round.

They do a newsletter email to customers every few weeks. They should have a section that provides ETA updates. It would save a whole heap of emails to them and messages here from people wanting to know the status of their pre order.

uw-06 and mp-30 part of the sea shipment have been arriving since monday,
unfortunately they are only arriving a few boxes a day and not the whole amount, The issue on this occasion is apparently the auspost contractor van would consist of 80 percent of daily hauls, so they are stagnating PC deliveries.
We hope to have all of these units dispatched by end of week,
order for takara products placed in the first 48 hours of a pre order usually will avoid sea shipment, if you are wanting day 1 release dispatch.

November 11 for me and arrived this morning to my mailbox. So about a month after release date.
I'll order from PC anything that's big boxed items since they tend to cost enough to tip over to free shipping.
For smaller items I will order from HLJ, they have items in stock pretty much on release date and even their cheaper postal options (SAL) only takes a week.

I contacted the courier this morning and requested for my consignment to be redirected to the correct address, and just as well that I did because the package was literally in the truck on the way to the wrong address! I did email PC last night about this issue, but have (as of now) received no reply. So if I hadn't contacted the courier when I did, then they might have attempted to deliver it to the wrong address (and possibly left it on the doorstep).
In my email to PC I did request for the third time now to ensure that my address is updated on all future pending orders. The courier also informed me that redirection takes up to 24h, so I won't be receiving MP Ratchet until tomorrow. :(
Basically what this means is that if PC had updated my address as I'd asked them to do over a month ago, then I would have received MP Ratchet this morning. But instead, it's arriving a day late, just as MP Destron Laserwave did. Also, I'm now dreading that every time PC despatches a package to me, I'm going to have to go through this rigmarole again and again and again. Considering that I'm giving Premium Collectables my repeat business, I would like it if they'd correct my address. It doesn't seem like a big ask. I could get these toys for the same price from HLJ or cheaper from Amazon Japan and get them sooner too. I'm going with PC because I want to support a local Aussie business, but if they're going to keep on ignoring my basic requests to update my address, then I'm going to seriously consider switching back to HLJ and Amazon JP just to avoid the ongoing hassle of having to take the time to send emails to PC and contacting couriers for redirection etc. As the customer, I shouldn't have to keep doing this! (-_-)
Update: Just received a reply from PC apologising for this issue. They're also going to send my next order via Premium Express postage free of charge. I just hope that it gets sent to the right address next time!

Missed Victorion today, and StarTrack is already frustrating me; considering they are owned by AU post I don't understand why they can't drop it at the post office, as I'm out all day tomorrow (until 10pm) so I really don't want to leave it at my doorstep...
Now gotta head to the depot (a good 30-40 min return trip) at some point, but they couldn't even tell me when!!!! I asked if it would be ready tomorrow morning (can get before uni after the gym) and the staff person was like "Umm no sorry we don't know when it'll be ready, we'll let you know"

I thought we established a couple weeks ago that we could have it left at the local post office?

My current orders with PC still show the wrong address. So as far as I can see when my next order ships, it'll be sent to the wrong address. Again. I've already emailed PC's customer service about this when they made the same mistake with MP Laserwave and again with Ratchet, and I've recently reminded them that they've done it before and I've explicitly asked them to fix this problem so that it doesn't happen again, but the orders on my account are still showing the wrong addy.
...doesn't make me particularly feel like a valued customer... :(

I did not know that. In that case, I wonder why my AU Post mail redirect doesn't work with them. I don't have a high opinion of StarTrack Express... not after what they did to us at Sabretron 2004. (-_-)

Hhmmm... I wonder if it's because I updated my address on my phone rather than on a computer. I just deleted my address and re-entered my new address again on my computer, and now it's showing the correct address under "shipping address", although the old address still shows up under "billing address," and I see no option to change this. But I guess "shipping address" is the important one. Guess I'll see what happens when my next toy ships. I've got a few more orders w/ PC, and of course, I can't cancel them. But I'm seriously considering switching back to HLJ and Amazon JP (I recently pre-ordered UW Computicon via HLJ). HLJ cost the same as PC and are faster and more efficient, and Amazon JP works out cheaper, but I've been using PC because I like supporting an Aussie business... but if they keep on sending my toys to the wrong address, then quite frankly I'm going to take my business elsewhere. I ordered a CW Ironhide with my UW-06, which showed up today, but no CW Ironhide. On the invoice it lists both, but with a tick next to UW-06 and a cross next to CW Ironhide. Emailed twice (today and on Friday when it was shipped and I noticed only UW-06 was dispatched), no response tho. Didn't they hire a customer service person recently?
Likely means that they don't have CW Ironhide in stock so they have shipped UW-06 as stock arrived. I routinely order multiple bots in one transaction and PC doesn't tend to wait, they just ship once the items are in. The big X next to Ironhide signals that they were only shipping UW-06. CW Ironhide will come once they have stock.

I would caution anyone looking to use this to do your homework on it. Nowehere on the website does it show the interest rate charged if you go past your interest free period. It also says there is a monthly account fee but does not disclose what it is on the site. In both cases they say to refer to your contract. This lack of transparency is concerning. Anyone entering into this needs to be fully aware of the risks.

^ Completely agree.
Found this on their site here (https://zippay.com.au/faq/):
At the end of every billing month, you can choose to pay off your balance in full, or simply make a payment that suits your budget (minimum repayment of at least $40 per month required). A $5 monthly service fee will simply be added to your account for any month you have an outstanding balance. No balance, no fees!
There is NO establishment fee to setup your account and NO INTEREST ever!
If you have repaid your balance in full within 30 days you will never be charged any fees!
It is a little ambiguous still. On my reading you have a $5 monthly fee when your balance isn't zero (unsure if that is at end of month or any point in time in the month where you have above a zero balance), a minimum payment of $40 a month (is that a fee?) but no indication on interest rates. I can't imagine this model working without interest being applied at some point even though they state: "There is NO establishment fee to setup your account and NO INTEREST ever!"

Thanks for finding that. Why it is hidden in an FAQ is beyond me. What they are banking on is that you make multiple transactions and then lose track of when each transaction will exceed the 3mth interest free period. Then I expect you will be charged pretty punitive interest. The fact the interest rate is not disclosed anywhere is a major red flag.

I don't like it. This kind of company/service has to make money somehow, and the way it does that is by exploiting people who are bad with money and counting on them to, well, be bad with money (fail to keep track of when payments are due, etc). But I guess there must be demand for the service.
My (unwanted) advice: If you can't afford it now, don't buy it.

Always spend within your own means and don't go overboard.
I guess like a credit card, if you go over and not pay up on time, there's going to be a penalty... a hefty one.
One another note, i just received my first order from PC and I've gotta say, I'm a happy customer.
Can't complain about the free shipping.
Makes it worthwhile to buy locally.

Yup. A mate of mine works in a loan company and pretty much admitted to me that this is exactly how they operate. If you can't afford to pay now, then just pre-order from somewhere else like HLJ and gradually save up your money so that when the bill comes through you can just throw your money at it.
There are pros and cons with using retailers that demand upfront payments or payments when the orders are processed. Use whichever option suits you. It's not rocket science. And ultimately, if you can't afford either option then... it's just a toy. Do people really want to get a bad credit rating over an action figure? Because this might affect your lending capacity in future when you want to make other more important purchases... like real estate.
But I guess there must be demand for the service.
My guess is that PC are trying to attract more business and in a way that won't affect them, which is good because it also won't affect the rest of us. i.e. if a person defaults on the loan, then it's up to the loan company to chase them up; additional interest, debt collectors, legal action etc.
But yeah, I also don't like the idea of needing to essentially apply for a financial loan to buy toys. If you're spending that much money on toys that you need to take a freakin' loan out, then you might need to consider reprioritising your spending habits!
My (unwanted) advice: If you can't afford it now, don't buy it.
Holy adult responsibility, Batman! :p
But yes, totally agree with this. And it goes with any other non-essentials too. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. If you really want it, then save your money. My next HLJ pre-order is Unite Warriors Computicon. I have however number of months between now and the time of its release to save up the money to pay for it. Seemple.

Like any financial product there will be pros and cons. I hate the credit card interest I pay on big purchases....... but a debate on credit interest rates might be a little off-topic, given that its for someone's retail store.
There's twiier and reddit for such 'fiery' topics, after all.

Thanks for that. I was mainly interested as everything I was interested in was sold out on the site (via preorder) and if things don't get restocked, well I guess I won't ever be shopping there, seems like too much of a hassle, even if it is great prices.
Is there some issue with selling out and more not being available?
I don't understand commerce at all, usually when something sells out, it's like "can we get more of that please?"
Do the companies put a limit on what can be purchased or something? I'm totally in the dark here.

I have not bought anything from HLJ yet. Don't you have to pay you when you preorder like most places?
I'm confused. Or do you only pay when something ships?
It's all explained at the bottom of the page (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=22999)

PC may have additional preorders at times for these and occasionally a cancellation or two which are back on the market for preorder but in general, a lot of the TFs sell out at pre-order. Members here including myself have been buying from them for a while now and are used to this so it's usually if there's something you want, get in there as soon as you can. There's plenty of updates on these pages when orders open either by members or PC themselves.

When items are out, they last more than a day is considered very generous for good prices. Not many people have encountered sold out under a minute items which some of us do for other items in other stores.

I'm still waiting too, but they did have 3 separate orders for this guy, so probably quite a lot of stock. they have started shipping them, as evidenced by Gok receiving his, so I imagine it will take a couple weeks to pack and ship the entire order. I've been chomping at the bit on the inside for over a month now seeing other people get theirs, wanting to get my grubby little hands on mine, soon my pretty, soon.

While it may not have made a difference, something of that demand should have a longer lead time, still PC, and I don't say this disparagingly, doesn't need to be worried about individual customers now with their customer base, plus for a business the sooner the money is in the better....I'm just dang sour about it.

Hi PC , I don't think is a great idea to have one run for a new mould as in new characters such as Thrust mp. You can see members here already missed out.
If you're in doubt if item was going to be a hit just post on the pre order thread as a eoi and you can estimate the numbers.
I admit I am someone who will take more than one piece if I could, and your new policy of just one run and 1 piece had made me turn elsewhere for remaining pieces as friends rely a lot on me to hook them up with a piece.
I hope you guys reconsider this next time Dirge mp appears.

I realise that this isn't an option for most people, but for anyone who may have access to a Japanese postal address, Takara TOMY Mall are still in stock (http://takaratomymall.jp/shop/g/g4904810842606/) for MP Thrust, and they have a limit of 3 per order (which would save on the cost of postage if you do a commande à trois.
And I don't think that PC are deliberately limiting their stock, it's just that this toy is by its very nature, a limited exclusive. The fact that online stores like PC are even able to stock this toy, and price match it with TakaraTOMYMall (which makes it cheaper considering that it's free shipping and if you spend any Energon points) is bloody amazing. Have people forgotten how bloody difficult it was to get CHUG Thundercracker, Dirge and Thrust before Hasbro released them as mass retail figures??? I missed out on the BotCon version of these toys, and even with my contacts in Japan I was only able to get Gentei Thundercracker and Thrust, not Dirge. For years I had Universe Dirge (redeco of Voyager Cybertron Starscream) because it was better than nothing. It would be a good 5 years after Classics that we finally saw these figures all released in mass retail, so for half a decade we didn't know if it would ever happen. Because those of us who got the BotCon or Gentei figures paid about $50 per figure, so practically double the cost of a regular Deluxe. And this is proportionately the same as what they're charging for MP Ramjet and Thrust -- practically double the cost of a regular MP Jet.
We pay the same proportionate price (or more) for limited exclusive figures all the time (e.g. BotCon exclusives, Club exclusives etc.), and much more than that if it's off the secondary market. Now MP Ramjet and Thrust may be later released as mass retail figures. After all, MP Sunstorm was initially released as a limited exclusive in Japan and later as a mass retail figure by Hasbro (though some will argue that the Hasbro one looks significantly uglier than TakTOM's -- I haven't really had a proper look at the Hasbro one before, but it is about $60 cheaper).
I can understand that missing out sucks for those who did miss out... but honestly... the fact that some people were able to get this toy from an Aussie source for a comparable price with original RRP is - IMHO - in itself pretty awesome and something that was unimaginable only a few years ago. We are being increasingly spoiled for choice here. These are the kinds of figures where I would have to ask someone in Japan to help me get this toy, even if other online stores were stocking them it'd be cheaper from Japan. But now I can get it directly from a local source (thus cutting out the middle man) and since I don't pay for postage and have spent Energon points, it works out even cheaper than getting it from Japan (although still bloody expensive, but again, not PC's fault).
TakTOM really should be releasing these toys as mass retail releases, and either they or Hasbro may do so in the future -- who knows. I'm too impatient to wait and see, so I'm more likely to pre-order now and regret later. :p But there is a chance that Hasbro may release these toys as regular store figures and you may be able to pick them up from a local TRU at significantly cheaper prices than what those of us who've pre-ordered the TakTOM version are paying right now. Cos my wallet is currently crying in a corner licking its wounds. But look, I'm not clairvoyant (or I'd be a billionaire now and none of this would concern me :p), so I have no idea if these toys will ever become mass retail toys or not... it depends on whether or not you're willing to take the risk. I'm not, so I've paid through the nose to pre-order this over-priced toy.

Hi PC , I don't think is a great idea to have one run for a new mould as in new characters such as Thrust mp. You can see members here already missed out.PC have noted on previous occasions that due to a significant amount of whingers in the past over "excessive wait times" (aka poor baby didn't get the item on release day even though they didn't order till round 3 of pre orders) they would have to limit stock of these sort of "limited" items to reduce complaints (PC feel free to correct me, I'm just going off what I recall from the whole debacle). It's unfortunately a case of a few bad eggs spoiling things for everyone. Personally I'd just put a disclosure stating that if you don't pay for express shipping you get your item when you get it and ignore the whiners, but that's me.

Yeah I hear you its just feedback, nothing really personal as I am sure I am not alone with this. Question is Are the bad eggs That many vs a strong numbers who want a piece? Last thing I want to see is PC turning into a refreshing combat like Amiami where hot items sold out under a minute. This will put people off so much that people no longer bother.

It's an online store on the world wide web. They are competing with other online stores where you can purchase the same toys for approximately the same or even cheaper prices. e.g. HLJ, Amiami, AnimeExport, Robot Kingdom, Amazon JP et al. I find HLJ's prices to be about the same as PC's (their base prices are cheaper, but cost of international postage makes them about the same price as PC). AmiAmi is really cheap but they also sell out super-duper quickly (duh). Amazon JP is also very cheap, but you need to have a Japanese residential address to use it. Robot Kingdom are also pretty well priced too, but I stopped using them when they switched to PayPal only (as I don't have PayPal). So yeah, there are plenty of other options for Australian online shoppers to use besides PC.
I'm happy to go with PC, but they're not the only game in town -- and that's a good thing. More competition makes things better for the end consumer, and PC's prices and service does make them competitive. Unlike say TRU AU and Myer who price their toys so high as if the internet doesn't exist.

Pretty much this. The only realistic way to collect it would be to staff up Aust Post to collect this. Does anyone know how the USA collects state sales tax? Is this upon parcel collection?
Asking an online seller to start collecting GST for you is like someone's idea of building a wall around the border and making the other country pay for it.

Its almost july..
Has everyone got their mp ramjet they ordered?
Im still waiting... No reply on fb from pc
I got a reply but I am keeping things peaceful and let PC have an official statement in response to ramjet MPs.
While I don't mind waiting as it is, I do however like updates so we don't need to keep flooding your message/emails or even posts here.
It keeps your customers happy that you are still on it etc.
Please feel free to pm me if you want to know the current situation with ramjet.
I pray we all get our orders fulfill.

Due to some apparent misuse of the extremely generous rewards program, We will be reviewing the program in full, and changes unfortunately will need to be made. We are Sorry for the many customers who act in the right spirit of the program but it now appears some abuse is taking place which effects the longevity and viable nature of our business. We will disclose to changes later this week once an outcome is reached

Can the abusers have their points halted for 6 months or get a points deduction to deter abuse?
Outline on your site what counts as abuse and what the penalties are.
If you must change the system for everyone hopefully you do not dud previously accumulated points.

So having looked at those stores and finding mostly outrageous postage to Australia, who IS selling those same toys for the same price or cheaper than PC, with the same or cheaper postage to or in AUSTRALIA, as that as what I was saying.
I am aware of the internet, yes.:)
If you seeing these same items at these prices with the same postage, then please DO link to them as I have not seen anything that even compares so far.

I'm speculating but it might be people making new accounts to get the bonus points allocated when you sign up, like, share etc. Not much money there but it would be a pain in the proverbial to manage this from PC's side and depending on which loyalty add on they are using with Shopify (their web sales platform) all these additional accounts will cost them money if they keep ticking over a higher tier amount of accounts earning points.

I get the feeling this might have to do with zip pay/money. I tested this system out  and what happens is you get the energon points before you make any payments to zip pay.
I reckon people are tacking up a $1000 order then spending the points on another order then defaulting on the repayment and basically getting free money.

I hope they don't change too drastically, I have spent a while saving up 1000 points to get a $65 discount which I plan on spending on MP Inferno.
If the discount is reduced I will be upset as I could have redeemed the points at 500 for a good discount.
Again it appears that the few are ruining for the many. I call boo on them.

The last time I did a broad comparison of pre-order prices was for MP Road Rage back in April/May 2015 (Yen prices are calculated based on the exchange rate on 9/5/15). I ordered two MP Road Rages, one from HLJ and another from Amazon JP. I didn't order one from PC, but I know that I was charged $9.95 for my MP Ironhide shipping, so I'm just going to use that same rate for Road Rage. Note that the advertised price on HLJ and Amazon reflect what they are currently charging for the toy, but I am quoting what I actually paid for them back in April (vs. what PC were charging in May) of last year. First I'll show the RRP as the standard price of the toy without discount. Then I'll show the cost of the toy at different online stores: the cost of the toy + postage = total.
RRP = ¥7560 (≈$100) before postage
Premium Collectables (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=470548&postcount=98): $74.95 + $9.95 = $84.90
HLJ (https://hlj.com/product/TKT83393): ¥5600 + ¥780 = ¥6380 (≈$67)
Amazon JP (https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%88%E3%83%A9%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B9%E3%83%95%E3%8 2%A9%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC-%E3%83%9E%E3%82%B9%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%83%94%E3%8 3%BC%E3%82%B9-MP26-%E3%83%AD%E3%83%9C%E3%83%83%E3%83%88%E3%83%A2%E3%8 3%BC%E3%83%89%E6%99%82%E5%85%A8%E9%95%B7%E7%B4%842 5cm-%E5%A1%97%E8%A3%85%E6%B8%88%E3%81%BF%E5%8F%AF%E5%8 B%95%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%82%AE%E3%83%A5%E3%82%A2/dp/B00XJSV2B6?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0): ¥5040 + ¥580 = ¥5620 (≈$59)
A more recent example? Let's look at UW Computron, and let's assume that the postage cost is the same. As a rough estimate of the cost of postage let's take the cost of MP Road Rage and round them up to the nearest hundred.
RRP = ¥16200 (≈$215) before postage
Premium Collectables (http://www.premiumcollectables.com.au/collections/takratomytransformers): $149.95 + $0 = $149.95
HLJ (http://hlj.com/product/TKT86252): ¥15000 + ¥800 = ¥15800 (≈$210)
Amazon JP (https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%82%BF%E3%82%AB%E3%83%A9%E3%83%88%E3%83%9F%E3%8 3%BC-%E3%83%88%E3%83%A9%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B9%E3%83%95%E3%8 2%A9%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9E%E3%83%BC-%E3%83%A6%E3%83%8A%E3%82%A4%E3%83%88%E3%82%A6%E3%8 2%A9%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BC%E3%82%BA-%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%94%E3%83%A5%E3%83%BC%E3%8 3%86%E3%82%A3%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3/dp/B01DTS2NQ8): ¥11259 + ¥600 = ¥11859 (≈$157)
And this is just comparing with two other competitors. There are others which can be cheaper, such as Amiami, AnimeExport or Robot Kingdom. I've used Amiami and RK before and I've found their postage to be reasonably cheap. I've never used AE before, but being based in Japan I'd imagine that their postage rate would be similar. If we average out the postage cost between Amazon and HLJ we'd get ¥700 (≈$9.31), but let's round it up to $10 as an estimate, shall we? So now we have additional options for UW Computron...
Robot Kingdom (http://www.robotkingdom.com/ttmeuw08.html): US$114.90 + AU$10 = ≈AU$165
Amiami (http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-018261&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_cate3%3D986%24s_maker _id%3D93%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 ): ¥11180 + ¥700 = ¥11880 (≈$158)
Anime Export (http://www.anime-export.com/product/31053): ¥10500 + ¥700 = ¥11200 (≈$149)
So as you can see, there are other places where you can purchase these toys for under full retail price. Yes, in some cases PC's discounts may be more generous or on par with other competitors, but sometimes it's not. The fact is that there is a wide variety of choice for Australian consumers now, all of which offer prices at below RRP. Much more choice than what we had several years ago before so many online import stores existed. Imagine if we were this well spoiled for choice back when we were collecting things like Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, early Takara G1 reissues, Car Robot, Binaltech, Micron Legend, Super Link, early MPs, Galaxy Force, Henkei etc.!

If you think you can get $10 shipping from RK for UW Computron I want to know what you are smoking/drinking? I just tested out UW Bruticus this morning from RK and the cheapest shipping option was US$36 which is about A$50. The all-in cost would have been A$207, way more than your Computron estimate of $165.
Sadly the strength of the yen means it's no cheaper buying from Japan than Hong Kong at the moment.

I find them no more expensive than the Japanese one's at the moment.
Another case in point. Cheapest shipping for UW Bruticus at HLJ is ¥4,260 which is A$57 at the current exchange rate. So the all in cost there is A$217. More than RK and way more than PC.

As I said in my previous post, it was an estimate. I haven't used Robot Kingdom ever since they switched to only accepting PayPal payments since I don't have PayPal. And as Trent said, they did have reasonably good postage rates back in the day, but as I no longer use RK I'm not privy to what their more recent postage rates are like. But it sounds like I'm not missing out on much by not using them. AU$207 is still below RRP though, so it's still technically a discounted price. Not a massive discount, but a discount nonetheless.

Thanks for those listings and comparisons. Seems I keep missing out on stuff, as so far the price I have seen on those sites are usually more than I want to pay / more than standard ebay prices. But I'll keep watching more closely as new stuff comes out.
Is it common that with some of those sites, that older stuff once it's sold, and they get it again they raise the price or something? I've seen some out there prices for stuff that you can pick up cheap in local retail that was not rare or anything, but had all sorts of weird price variance. CW Menasor for example goes for all sorts of weird prices. You can currently get him for say $140 AU delivered from ebay, while some import sites (mostly out of stock) but have him up to $200-$250 AU delivered. And I do mean CW Menasor and not UW Menasor who sells for more at normal retail price.

I have no issues with this.
I gather that if inferno mp is allowed 3 pieces per customer and if you want to use your points is to buy one with points and buy the other two seperately without or with any extra points you have to sperate it further as individual items. < 3 orders with 3 redemption points vouchers.

The warning time is pretty bad, it assumes that people are waiting on the computer to see when it will go on everyday and doesn't give much heads up. I hope they do another run although I doubt it. It sucks because I had energon points to use and now wont be able to redeem them until the next MP on PC that I can get.
I'm not a fan of the 3 item limit when some people aren't even getting 1.
Also, I wish PC would be consistant with their release times. Its always been 8:30 pm and changing it to some random time is very frustrating.
This is my first complaint with PC and I hope they take this sort of stuff on board.

Just managed to get one a few minutes ago. I agree about the limits - if something is going to be so limited in numbers that it will sell out within an hour, with plenty of posts here and on FB saying they missed out, then maybe a limit of one per customer would be a good idea.
Perhaps the limit can be increased after 24 hours if it hasn't sold out? Just a thought.

It would be nice if PC would use their newsletter to inform subscribers about when these "big name" pre-orders are expected to go live.Apparently there is an email that goes out automatically to VIP members (those that spend over $5k in a year) informing them that a product is about to drop and allowing them first dibs at pre ordering.
Personally I don't think this is entirely fair to those of us that only order, for example, MP Transformers, as we wouldn't really get close to spending that much.
Really it's only those that buy a lot of those "Hot Toys" figures that can even become a VIP member, so I think that PC should instead have different categories of VIP membership, maybe even partner up with OTCA and/or TCCA to offer a separate VIP membership for Transformers collectors.
Also for those wondering, MP Inferno is still available to pre-order, just did mine without any issues ;)

Why shouldn't they give preference to customers that clearly spend a lot more money with them? Would be crazy not to give them some incentive for purchasing.
Also, I do not believe that they send emails out in advance to VIP all the time although I do believe it happens on most super rare items.
DarkHyren
6th July 2016, 09:27 PM
I'm not saying they shouldn't give some benefits to really big spenders, just that it would be nice if they also gave loyal customers that "only" spend $1,000 a year with them some early bird access as well.
I don't know about the frequency of the advance emails to VIPs, however they were sent out an advance warning for MP Inferno, which is not a super rare item, so that leads me to believe that the advance emails are sent more often then not.
I think my biggest gripe with the way the pre-orders work honestly is that people from overseas end up buying up a lot of the limited run items which causes a lot of Aussies to miss out, which is especially frustrating when we only have a few good, cheap suppliers, while people in, say, america have a multitude of sources to choose from where they don't need to pay nearly as much as the figure costs just to get it shipped to them.
Yes, I know there are other stores to shop at, and yes I know that if you're lucky you can get the same items for nearly the same price, but I'm talking about the limited run items, which nearly always end up being at least $50 more to order from somewhere overseas. I'm not saying block overseas buyers either, just a suggestion that for the first 24-48 hours these pre-orders could have a region lock on them.
At the end of the day I was only posing a suggestion, a membership level for the Transformers fans that use PC, because as I said the only people that really spend over $5k a year are Hot Toys collectors, not saying that they shouldn't have some sort of benefit as well.

I imagine that this is why places like eHobby and Amazon Japan exclusively ship to Japanese postal addresses. I suppose PC could impose a similar geographic limitation by eliminating the drop down menu box that allows you to select country (thus region locking it for Australia only).
But then they'd cop criticism from fans for restricting their business opportunities -- in the same way that many Western fans continually criticise TakaraTOMY for ignoring the Western market (even though they're legally obliged to do so via their agreement with Hasbro). PC has no such legal restriction, so I guess it makes more business sense to not limit themselves exclusively to the domestic market.

I have it on good authority from a VIP member that he received no warning that Inferno was being listed. Actually one of his biggest gripes is the fact that supposedly VIP members can't purchase through the site, they have to get manual invoices via email and this leads to them some times missing out on items if they don't get advanced warning.

VIP did not get an email for inferno mp so please disregard that post. They get email for exclusive limited items and they are assured a piece if they reply within prior to launch time.
They are also bind by the limit rules and regulations so it is fair unless they decided to lift it at their authority.
Hope that clears things up. Have fun.
I do agree that it is difficult for a transformer only customer is able to get VIP is very difficult and almost not possible if you don't buy a um or $300 plus toys.
But these are the rules. You can find other things to buy. Please remember you need to spend $5k from January to December and not when you start become a PC customer. So if you just joined, you left till December to obtain the membership.
Personally I just like to buy what you like at their prices. I wouldn't be too stress about it if you missed it, is bound to happen and you just have to secure it at another source if it is the case.

I'd venture a guess that PC put up pre-orders for MP Inferno because they got last-minute info about it's pricing and supply. TFSource in the US had put it up a few hours earlier, and the TF news/gossip channels started talking about that... so I figured (correctly) that PC would have it up within a few hours.
MP Inferno isn't going to be a limited release/exclusive so there shouldn't be any significant supply issues. There might have been some hiccups in the first couple of hours because PC gets flooded with orders and I think they put an initial cap on the inventory to make sure it's not being abused. That seems to have been fixed up rather quickly based on what I've read.
So there was really no need to give VIPs a heads up for something that's not going to have a limited supply. I'm sure at some point they will cut-off pre-orders because they'll need to place their final order with the supplier.

In hindsight the complaints ( mine at least) were made because we have always had warning about releases and this time we didnt. PC dont really need to tell us so we shouldn't complain but they have set a trend so we have got used to it and become complacent about when the orders become available. First world problems.

I have no problem with their prices, it's the prices at the other sources that's the issue, as I mentioned certain items will be a minimum of $50 more to purchase, and in some cases that does make one go over budget for their spending. Yes I know, 1st world problems, but I was just stating my personal opinions and some suggestions, nothing more.
I have nothing against PC, they are in fact my number one source for MPs and I get every one that they put up, my gripe is that if you arent stalking their facebook/twitter page one can miss out on certain preorders because they were only up for an hour and that I've seen a lot of Aussies miss out because overseas buyers want things even cheaper then they already have them, which isnt fair when they already have good cheap sources and we have so few.
I'm glad PC have started to put in place measures to combat scalpers and resellers, huge plus for the community there, but there is more that can be done to support the Australian fanbase.
I know that "PC has no such legal restriction, so I guess it makes more business sense to not limit themselves exclusively to the domestic market" as Goki said, it's just a hope that Aussie customers would get preference in an Australian based store since American customers get preference in their local stores
EDIT: Just another thought/suggestion I had, perhaps PC could give customers the option to pay a dollar or two more for bubble wrap or packing bubbles, generally the items get where they are going in good condition but there are instances where butchers paper doesn't provide enough padding (generally the posties fault) and things end up damaged.

Yes I have suggested this previously. It's the only reason I would still be buying from Japan if it wasn't for the strong Yen. The Japanese stores use plenty of bubblewrap but PC generally does not.
