Finished DNF last night with 700 achievement points. Epic old school action! Going to trade it into EB for Child of Eden and pick it up again later when it hits bargain bin prices (won't be long). Doing it this way I bizarrely end up paying only $4 to experience DNF (paid $89 for DNK, EB offer $82 credit until 16/06, Child of Eden costs $79). Win! :D

lol, well there's this big muscly pig right? And he isn't very nice because he jumps out from a corner oinking "Suprise attack!". And then I was like, woah :eek: And then I thought he could do with some iron in his diet and proceeded to feed it to him en masse. :D I think he overate though because he wasn't moving much afterwards. :(

When I re-buy it for $30 or so, indeed I shall! Hard is the perfect difficulty in my eyes, it's tough in places but when you die it never feels like it's because the game is being cheap. Like good old Demons Souls! :D Having said that, one boss fight near the end with basically no cover and tonnes of re-spawning baddies had me thinking otherwise at the time...

I agree with you on the scores it's getting - WTF did people think they were getting?, All Gearbox did was dust this Old Game they found off and then whacked a sticker on it and released it. :rolleyes:

I watched good game with special guest the Chaser Guy and they gave it 8s. Except chaser didnt like the loading times for 360 lol so gave it a score of 5.

I am quite enjoying it, I haven't laughed from a game this much since.. Hmmm, no too sure to be honest, a while at the very least.

I too wondered about the reviews situation, you can tell from the NPC models alone that this is an old game. Sheesh. Just enjoy it for the gameplay.

I tell ya, back when I was loading games off of tape on my C64, there wasn't half as much whinging about graphics like there is now.

Things I like and have noticed, but probably shouldn't admit.

Duke Nukem Forever, I have mixed feelings. Im up to the dam in the generator room and stuck at the boss. The gun limit should of been 3, 1 heavy like a rocket launcher, and 2 others like a shotgun and ripper. I think I'll trade this one in today for store credit.

The scathing reviews in my opinion are justified. The game should of been marketed more low key with less hype and released as a budget title and include extras with the game like, like artwork, concepts etc. or even throw in Duke 3d. Or they could of packaged DNF with a new borderlands dlc that had a Duke Nukem Theme to it. It wouldn't surprise me if they have dlc planned for this game. I think they should release it for free to dampen the cynical opinion.

All the hype around this game made it out to be the best thing since sliced bread and from what I've seen (I don't listen to others reviews but I watched any vids on it I could) it is so far from it. Also I'm not really a fan of the low humour. Why do you need to get excrement from a toilet and throw it around? Shooting pregnant (albeit with aliens) women and cracking jokes about abortion -I haven't seen that part, a friend told me about it. I hope he is lying because that is just tasteless. But even if you can tolerate that "humour" from what I've seen of the gameplay it looks almost suitable for playstation1 not 3. If thats what they were going for then fine but don't hype the game up to be super fantastic and then release this mediocre FPS... and then the PR company had a dummy spit at the bad reviews. What do you expect:rolleyes:

I certainly didn't find the gun limit game breaking, but I do agree with Defcon - 3 weapons would have been the magic number (and not a physical impossibility like Gordon Freeman and his Tardis backpack).

The only hype that was placed around this game was the fact that it was being released at all and that compared to Duke3D it was streaks ahead.

It was never marketed or totted to be a Current Gen Graphics Masterpiece nor a Gameplay Revolution and if you thought it was, then you've completely missed the point.
The release of this game was purely to give those fans who had been waiting since '97 the game they should've received 10 years ago, at no point was it ever to cater to the ridiculous expectations of today's gaming public.

The humour may not be to everyone's taste, I can accept that as it's perfectly fair.

It's funny though that 90% of those having a winge about the game are playing it on consoles, lol, which is where most of the negative reviews are coming from where as those playing and reviewing it on PC are majoritively rating this game quite highly but within the context it should be - so evidently these people are far better informed.

Seriously though man, go back and look at all the promotional material, trailers and interviews and find me where it says "Will Revolutionise Gaming Today!" and/or "Graphics That'll Make Crisis Seem Like Pacman!".
Truly dude, all they did was dust this old game off, port it to 360 and PS3 and release it - The Graphics and Gameplay are obviously dated: It's a 10 year old game!, but it was never suggested that it'd be anything different either.

Duke is interesting, as it has made me realise how much recent FPSs rely on stage specific set pieces to make them seem more cool. I was having trouble before with the gameplay (I was always carp at FPS games) but am finding it easier after turning up the x and Y sensitivity.

Today marks the 15th Anniversary of the game that defined FPS Multiplayer Gaming over the Internet but also the game that brought FPSs into the 3rd Dimension. ;):cool:

Also if anyone wants a free RPG game the dudes/dudettes at classic-gaming have released the apparently classic 'Dark Stone', it's an old PS-one/PC game that is very similar to Diablo (now abandonware). I played some of it not long ago but couldn't last long - I can't play games anymore for more than an hour without getting a headache!

Good game though, graphics may be a bit old but seems to offer lots of gameplay

Just played the Sonic Generations Demo, good news it that it plays much better than Sonic 4, the physics are much more in line with the Mega Drive games, Platforming still feels too floaty compared to the older games, but on a whole seems very good!

Gametraders did...technically. basically GT got in the euro-version..which we can play on the AUS 3DS..so EB took that as a big meh lets sell ours now. I got my Ocarina so i can tell you its out XD

Anywho, while we are talking about old school games, I would like to bring up Redneck Rampage :D still as hilarious as I remember it. Been playing it all afternoon. What sets this game apart from most other fps, is the fact that your health is either porkrinds or booze. And if you drink, you slowly get worse at shooting until it wear off. To counteract that, you eat prorkrinds to bring your drunk meter down, but increase your gut, which makes you run slower, and not jump as high lol.

I remember drinking so much once that when I was walking forwards, i was in fact running sideways on a slant lol, and shooting backwards lol. Makes it so difficult, but fun.

Ah memories of a long past teenage years playing crazy games lol.

This is exactly what I thought of the Demo. :(
It also felt like Sonic was tethered to the ground or something, he seemed to fall back to the ground with a much faster pace than what he jumps at and F-Me it is annoying how he un-rolls! :mad:

Good thing that this is just the demo, it is much closer in feel to the originals than what I thought it'd be, but it certainly isn't the originals of which I'm glad I still own! :D
I can't decide which I love more, MK II or Sonic 2 on Megadrive but Sonic 2 is easily my favourite of all the Sonics... I miss you 90s :o

Yeh hursty, I see what you mena about him sticking to the gorund. There are a couple of spots which are key areas for climbing up and you have to really slow down, or else he just doesn't seem to respond in time.

Admittedly though, the game is a loong way off, and I was pleased and surprised they let us have a demo of anything so early on. It's definitely better than Episode 4 and I love the Green hill Zone music to bits. Gonna have to hunt down a copy of the Soundtrack now.

God I hope they whip out a really awesome collectors edition. They did on Sonic's 10th Anniversary with Sonic Adventure 2. Well, it wasn't really awesome, just pretty awesome.

Really? Darn. hopefully its not all based on rubbish. I was a bit annoyed that most of the Sonic levels for Sega Racing were based off of Sonic Heroes (Barf).

The only ones I know of for Gens is Green hill and the city one from SA2. Which I was a bit sad to see was practically exatly the same set up, but the truck has buzzsawa now...

When it comes to new games there's a bit of a generation gap for me. I haven't had much to do with video games for over ten years but I still buy Hyper magazine from time to time and check out the games shops just to see what's going on... It's cool to see some 90's games like sonic still going strong. I'm still a huge fan of the Mega Drive Sonic games and a lot of the other MD games as well. I still play them from time to time, half way through Sonic 2 at the moment...

Heads up folks, only 1 more day left on the Sonic Generations Demo. It stops on June 13 at 8.00am. Manged to play it at least once every day :D

I have found that while doing a ground roll, if you let go of the direction he deosn't unroll. If you hold the direction down, once he starts to lose some speed he unrolls to the run. Still needs to jump a bit highger and stick less to the ground.

Oh and a couple of times, he has pulled little jump-stunts (ala Sonic Adventure 2) when popping a couple of bad guys in a row. For me it happens occasionally on the first bridge, I bust a fish, then another and he will do a little trick on the second. I have managed to get 3 off of one jump (so 2 tricks) but it doesn't always happen and I can't quite figure out what I am doing differently.

The fines and jail would be for massive orders or repeated offenders (who would have had to have their parcels picked often).

For your average Joe, the worst you are likely to face is confiscation and a letter telling you not to import games that are RC. Assuming they picked your parcel that says 'game software' like many other thousands of parcels in the post.

As for the targetting they were going on about, it's probably no more than what they were doing before anyway. The classification board is unlikely to just say 'we dont care if you import it' so they just quote the worst punishment possible.

On the MK front, I had a fiver sitting on my US account so I bought Scarlet. Quite a fun character with all the blood related moves actually. But she doesn't have a section in the Krypt for Bio viewing etc etc. So I am not sure whether she is supposed top get one or if I need to inlock it somehow. The download was about 80meg in size, so there was something extra in there. Anybody know anything about this? I assume it's the same foe Kenshi?

Earlier in this thread I was ragging on the 3DS.

Well, after grabbing my Ocarina edition Zelda, She Who Shall Be Obeyed ordered me to purchase a 3DS and get rid of the old DS. Afetr some quick googling and discovering all my Japanese DS games will work on a 3DS, I went to Target and got one for $299, Plus a rubbishy looking raving rabbids game.

Well, blow me half way to sideways and back again! Zelda looks incredible! I was impressed with just the clean up of the graphics and the increased draw in rate (or decreased fog :p depending on your point of view).

Then I cranked the 3D switch! WOW, Just WOW! to see Kakariko village like that, and then Hyrule field. Wow! Just managed to add a little sprinkle of that extra sexiness to make a great game even better.

Only problem is the 3d is a little dodgy after a while. No way I would play the whole thing in 3d and there were a couple f times when I would move my head a little and I couldn't see what was going on, tricky during fights.

I am intriguied to see how this is capitilased on. Although I suspect that a game that relies entirely on the 3D looks will fail due to your eyes going funky after prolonged viewing of it. Still with Zelda looking so nice, I would like to see something that really gets the 3DS processor's cranking!

On a semi related note. SF vs Tekken is looking interesting, Lots of final fight characters in the roster. Like. Poison! and Hugo! I am intrigued and will be watching, but will probably wait for "SF vs Tekk Incredible" which will have more characters and modes. and only be nine montha after first release.

There's also Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition out in stores now about a year after Super, but only four new characters. I'm pretty sure you can buy it as an upgrade from the PSN store if you have SSFIV so hoping MvC3 will allow something similar.

The Arcade SSFIVis ok. Only 1 character is new, and he is one fo the brothers of a character already in there. the other three are just evil veriosn of previous characters. Although I don't see how Akum can be more evil:D Haven't had much of a chance to play it either. darnit.

I got that, well the add-on for SSFIV, but remember how they were saying that the enhancements for SSFIV were more complex, so they had no choice but to make a new game for SSFIV?

Keeping that in mind, have a look at how poor the MVC3 Online interface is and compare that to the awesome one of SSFIV. I was kind of annoyed that even though MVC3 came out after SSFIV, they didn't have the same options (online watch/replay mode, waiting setup) as SSFIV had.

Should have seen this coming really.

I kind of assumed that they didn't want to spend too much on making SFIV, in case they discovered people were tired of the old 2d one on one fighter, but surely after 3 SFIVs, and one MVC3, plus their plans for Tekken crossover, they would be able to see that they can make things a little nicer from scratch. but I guess there is more cash in doing it all over again.

Evil ryu is ok...though replacing his shinkuu hadouken with the raging demon makes him a little crap. Being able to juggle with his hurricane kick is good. His Metsu hadouken can also be delayed if the punch buttons are held.

Oni Akuma is the worst character ever. He no longer has his air hadouken, can no longer juggle with his hurricane kick and his shoryuken is hard to cancel into other moves now (can only focus dash cancel if it is hit from a short distance i think). The only thing i can see that's good from him are his air dashes and his air raging demon. Besides those 2 points, he's a gimped Akuma with the body of Gouken and a new fast overhead slam...

The game is only worth it if you're training for tournaments or you're interested in using either Yun or Yang.

Resident evil 5...resident evil 5 Gold edition. They also force you to buy residen evil 5 gold edition if you want to play with the psMove...they said it would be hard to integrate the controller through an update (even though heavy rain provided a free update to support the psMove!).

Capcom have always been known to be money grubbing ... But it looks like everyone is following suit now...

Online passes which must be bought to play online if you got your game 2nd hand (Official sony games will be doing this as well. E.g. Resistance 3).

DLC Pricing for content already on the disc. Mortal kombat and the costumes...it's already on the disc because you face off against those classic costumes in the Tower mode (Sub zero and Scorpion classic costumes) and the hidden characters during the ladder match! (Jade and reptile classic costumes).

DLC is ruining games for me. I understand developers wanting to keep their games fresh, but they are doing previous developers injustice by not releasing a product they can stand behind as 100% completed. Yeh, DLC is cool, but the powers of DLC have been turned to evil. I find it hard to belive that Capcom wanted peopl to buy the Two player mode for that resident evil. that sucks.

On a different story though, I bought the Incredible Hulk game for my PS3 second hand. It looked a lot like Hulk : Ultimate Destruction which I really enjoyed on the PS2. I am actually enjoying it. that VA sucks and the 'story' cut scenes are worse than the ones on ROTF. A static screen of a 'hacked' phone and some voice over, I kid you not. But the gameplay isn't too bad, the Hulk can knock down ANY building. Its cool, jumping throught the air... aah, picking fights and smashing cars, just good wholesome destruction.

I just wish it were a tad more like Ult destruction, that was cool as it had a heap more fighting moves. So far I ahve only found about 6 or 7 combos and move types. Pretty impressed for an old 2008 game that is based off a movie. mindless fun and cheap too.

oh so the 3ds is only region locked for 3ds games? not ds games? bah even then region locking for handheld games are a no no for me. Plus they cancelled their proposed localisation for Ace attorney investigations 2! (my favourite series on the ds).

Can't afford to pay the ridiculous prices australia has for 3ds games...Can get a ps3 game at the same price or lower online :).

Hell even Mass effect 2 on the ps3 is insanely cheap at jbhifi and game! (29 and 28 dollars respectively).

Which really makes any owners of Time Crisis, Point Blank etc have games and controllers that are now unusable! I have kept an old 40cm CRT tv in my garage for the sole purpose of playing those games.

Such a shame as playing Time Crisis 2 and 3 on a massive 80cm+ screen would have been fantastic.

Light guns don't work on lcd or plasma sets, only crt sets (but not on a 100htz set)

I was wondering about that, I have kept my DC lightgun for the joys of House of The Dead. Haven't played it since I got my new TV though. I guess it will go into my retro game collection. Like my 6 pad game connector for my Saturn, I have NEVER had six friends around to use it... Heck, I only know of one game that would be worthwhile with it.

Starfox 64 is short but i have logged plenty of hours on the original (so much that i'm not bothering with the 3DS version). High scores are really addicting.

PS3 can play data (.avi, mpeg) files from disc, as well as region 1 DVDs (not sure about other regions).

If you have a local network you can also play files straight from your pc via streaming.

Just adding to what trunks said, the PS3 can also play .avi and mpeg files using one of the USB controller ports at the front. There is no need for additional codecs.

I've only ever had a problem with some .avi's that would play on my PC, but it's very rare and most media players (I have a WD one) wouldn't play it either.

Just upgraded my PSP firmware so I can play the games I bought without having to rip them to the memory card.. Mainly for the Black Rock Shooter game I just got.

I am not too sure whether it is showing its age now, or from sloppy programming, but the games using 3-D worlds, just don't seem to really look all that flash...

BRS is interesting, but mainly corridor levels. Kind of washed out graphics as well...

I think the game really captures the atmosphere of a zombie movie.
You walk out of the safe house and everything is quiet, obvious signs of a disaster, crashed cars blood stains etc. You grab a baseball bat and wander up the road, and see some corpses, turn walk off the road to the pool and approach the bar, more bodies litter the ground. In the distance you see someone eating a corpse! It notices you and runs screaming towards you, you swing the bat and cave in it's head, you turn around to run back to safety only to be confronted by a horde of undead monsters!

That is dead island. It's basically Borderlands meets dead rising. I turn off the damage indicators and enemy health bars, makes it more tense not knowing how strong any zombie is. I also play with the analogue fight controls, makes it feel more like a struggle to beat back the zombie horde, but it does make it harder to play.

Totally worth the $34 it cost me, but I'd have happily paid full retail for it. Yet to try multi-player.

Not too shabby for an on-rail shooter. Kind of fun, I find myself thinking as I play it, but nowhere near as cool as WFC.

The graphics are a bit weak tbh, some textures and stuff are just not there, but the story isn't bad and it's definitely not the worst game I have played.


I got ICO and Shadow of the Colossus collection. Bought the Japanese limited box set! (http://tetstoys.blogspot.com/2011/10/icowanda-and-colossus-ltd-box.html) Very nice it is too.

Then discovered that when you play through ICO in the +game, Yorda has english subtitles, so went and got the Aussie version. Which is nowhere near as nice...

Now I have 3 copies of those games...:rolleyes:

Looks are not it's strong suit, but the gameplay is fun and varies enough, you get a variety of weapons for each stage, the levels are well designed and you flow through them at a decent pace. It is not a long game, and unless you really like playing the same couple of levels over and over trying to improve your time and/or score you'll burn through it in a weekend or so.

I bought it on clearance for about $30 and do not regret the purchase, but I wouldn't recommend paying more than that, if you are not an on rails shooter fan, maybe give it a hire first.

I've been playing infamous on the PS3, and it has been very enjoyable, now that some retailers are selling it for around $30 for the platinum verison, I highly recommend it to those who enjoy sandbox games.

Finished infamous over the weekend, very good game, certainly worth the free download thanks to PS Network geting hacked all those months ago, and if you like sandbox style games, worth the platinum price point to purchase. I'll nab infamous 2 some time, I am sure of it.

Now to try and finish DeBlob 2 and DBZ Raging Blast II before the crazy game season comes into full swing and disrupts all my plans!

And NBA Jam on Fire is all kinds of Awesomesauce, takes everything great about the first game and improves on it tenfold. Blocking is harder (but not hard), but stealing, general shooting, passing and alley-ing are all much better, graphics are crisper and the variety in gameplay and unlockables are top notch. Only misisng his royal airness to be the best basketball game ever released. Was only $20 and you dont need the original game to play. Freakin' steal!

Unless they finally fixed it with a patch, I highly recommend taking off v-sync for a much smoother experience.

I'm enjoying Dark Souls at the moment. Incredibly, it's even harder than Demons Souls requiring quite a bit of grinding early on to get anywhere. Just nabbed all the miracles from the first covenant, wanted to get them early as I'll most likely be giving them the flick for darker powers later on. :p

Highly recommend anyone with a PS3 and a spare two-three hours to purchase the Infamous 2: Festival of Blood game. Requires no Infamous 2 game to play, and is completely stand-alone.

It's a fun (and short) romp through a sandbox style New orleans inspired city where you have been turned into a vampire, and must track down and kill the vampire queen before the night is over. You also have to drink blood in order to fly (yes actually fly) across the city.

Visually very pretty, amusing and sill story that was released at the perfect time of year. Took myself and some buddies about 3 hours to finish the story and track everything down, but there are still plenty of user generated content levels to paly through. Well worth the $15, and certainly a great endorsement for the actual infamous 2 game.

Also NBA Jam on Fire is an incredible upgrade for an already awesome game. Even more fun with muliplayer and some beers! :D

1: Modern Sonic feels less controlable than in the demo (i tend to run off the sides of the levels)

2: loading/saving times (they are a bit longer than i would have liked)

3: the game is very light on story so far

4: Amy has that anoying Minni Mouse voice >_<

but the game is pretty fun and clasic sonic is great to play as

I got the CE version.

I have quite enjoyed it so far. Only up to level 3 though and have managed to blast S Ranks on most of the levels. Its fanboy-liscious though! So many little nods to those with Sonic knowledge, Chillidogs, stalking Amy.

I really like the hub world look and the way the music flows from level to level without stopping. Plus, it's so awesome to see (For example) the Chemical Plant Zone in some snazzy new look for Modern Sonic.

Pretty awesome box set I have to say. I would love to have goldne ring # 99 though!!:D

BAAAH! I was hoping it would ahve an install option but I didn't see one anywhere. Playing this sucker on the PS3. I hope it is there and I just missed it, coz the load times really take you out of the 'zone.' Especially when it saves. Why can't I move? Oh, its STILL saving.

Allstars racing was a slow loader as well.

Downloaded the extra stuff too. the theme is a bit naff, just Sonic characters for Icons and a background. I was hoping for it to be a Dynamic theme, but oh well. The Casino night Pinball game is a nice fun distraction, but if you don't get it you are not really missing out on much. I.E I wouldn't want to pay for it.

Overall, this game is living up to my expectations!

Speaking of DLC, anybody bought the Nightwing for Arkham City? I saw that it's $7 US, but on the PSN it is naturally more. $11.45 (I think, definitley in the 11 mark), that's a bit too much for my liking. Just a new skin, some moves and two battle maps? Just think, it's about 10% of the cost of the full price game, or more depending on where you bought it for so little. Disappointed.

yeah, you can go with either a hard (physical chip) or soft (custom firmware) mod.

Google wiibrew and that should help you on your way. Depending on how old the wii is requires different techniques, but just know that it is remarkably easy to do and you can do it yourself without having to pay anyone.


Just bought a mate's copy of Unchartered 3! He said it was ace and had finished it, so I grabbed it for $40!! :D Can't wait to play it, I was very impressed with #2. tried #1, but it didn't grab me as #2 did, so left it.

Bought meself a US PSN card and Dled Daytona and Chrono Cross last night. Woooo!

Daytona is still so much fun! I am used to playing the Dreamcast/Saturn versions though and so I was all "Whoa! Crazy handling!" and "Hey! Where is the car selection gone?" Miss some of the tracks from 2001 as well, but hey for $10 its still an awesome blast.

Chrono Cross is a totally shmick game. Since it didn't get released on PAL, I was never able to play my PS1 version on the PS3, but now I can! And now I can have a properly working version on my PSP as well! Woooooooooo!

Ratchet and Clank all-4-one is awesomesauce.

Nearly as much fun to play with mates than NBA jam, and when playing solo, the AI does a great job to make the game enjoyable.

Not as pretty as the last one, and the overall feel is a little more cartoony, but it is a well made, polished game that retains the humour and feel of the previous Ratchet games.

Got myself Uncharted 3 from ozgameshop yesterday. Now I only need to find the time to play it...

Will be interested to hear what you think of it. I finished it last night and found it crushingly boring/disappointing compared to 2 (which I adored throughout, easily in my top 5 games of this generation). The desert chapters were superb however, loved every moment and the level design was MUCH better than anything that came before in the game. The characters are as charming as ever, but the big scenes that should really hit hard emotionally just really fail to resonate (at least for me).

Before I end my rant, while the combat in Uncharted 3 does show some improvements (LOVE the grenade toss back), it still has a loooong way to go. I can't believe you still have to press a button to pick up ammo and grenades!! In any other game simply walking over these items would add them to your inventory but Uncharted still has you pressing /\ every time. **** it is annoying! And I know it's not going to happen but I hope for UC4 they re-do Drake's movement, controlling Drake still feels like you're driving a boat...

Indeed. Fans of the previous games have to play it, and hopefully you get more enjoyment out of it than I did. Funny you mention RE4, I've been playing that recently on Xbox Live and it hasn't aged a day. Love that game!

Realism doesn't always = fun. :p I can understand slower games like Bioshock and Dead Space having a pick-up system like this but for a game as fast paced as Uncharted it just seems so wrong to me.

Been playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for a few days now. Various websites have given this a perfect or near perfect score. And even though i'm only a few hours and dungeons in, i agree with them. The controls take some getting used to (probably been playing with an XBOX controller too long) but everything else is perfect.

The visuals look awesome, as the further you get away from an object, it fades into the background which looks like a watercolour painting. At a closer look the environment and charcters are made up of what look like tiny blotches of paint, which amaze you everytime you enter a new area. A very artistic game. And as always the audio is superb with catchy tunes and some classic Zelda themes.

I recommend this game to any Zelda fan, Nintendo fan or longtime gamer who wants to experience a rare gaming gem. BTW, game gets released 24th November.

Yeah unfortunately the control scheme is only for the WiiMotion Plus. If they had put an option in to use the standard contoller plug-in then they may have attracted a larger audience. Don't let the fiddly controls put you off a gorgeous game though. You may get annoyed at times but there's too much to enjoy.

I find Metal Gear Solid have more solid game play then Uncharted 2... you can go about the game your own way, while uncharted is like running on rails. Graphics wise Uncharted are nicer.

I havent finish or touch it for quite some time though, but will have to finish it before I go in to U3

If you hunt around places like TRU you might be able to find the motion plus attachment that was sold for about $30 that would not require you to buy another controller.

Lego Harry Potter 5-7 is a follow up/continue game rather than anything new or exciting.

But still alot of fun, the Weasly twins new tweak is alot of fun. I've only finished year 5, but very addictive and different with how some of the levels are integrated, and some school/story events occur in almost mini level scenarios.

Not the prettiest game on Wii, but decent enough.

Infamous 2 on the PS3 is brilliant, the visual upgrade is so significant to the original that you would almost beleive them to be different series with simialr elements rather than a sequel. Might take a while to get used to the new Cole voice actor, I prefer the gruffer original.

Hopefulyl Skyward Sword will be ready for me to play a bit of tonight...

OK... finally had some time to give Uncharted 3 a crack, mostly the co-op mode with my nephew. First impression is that it's a lot harder than the previous two games (either that or I have gone rusty :o).

At this point I like it and look forward to story mode :cool:

as for the pressing a button to pick up stuff, that's common in games that limit your inventory - particularly one of my favs - resident evil as you need to strike a balance between weapons, ammo, health and puzzle items.

So far I've got running Doom 2, Hexen, Duke 3D Atomic, Quake 1 & 2; they all run quite brilliantly but I'm trying to weed out some persistently annoying DOS based sound issues, namely, trying to get Wolfenstein 3D to actually recognise the onboard sound card (Unlike later games it doesn't have a setup/install.exe :() and putting an end to the Soundblaster (Compatible) and/or Midi channels going all berserk from time to time (Sound/Music becomes delayed and/or distorted/muffled). :rolleyes::)

Having recently finished some contracted I.T. work, this is what boredom and a passion for PC gaming's "yester-year" will produce. ;):)

Argh! - looks like I'm going to have to try and track down a genuine Creative Labs 16bit Soundcard for my DOS rig, stupid cheap Intel onboard crap just can't hack the job... in DOS. :(
Might also consider trying to track down an AGP Geforce 1 or 2 MX too! :p, the Intel onboard Graphics Adapter with 4Mb onboard VRAM is just sitting back and laughing at me. :rolleyes:

Started playing Skyward Sword yesterday. I was enjoying it, but it takes too long to get going. Many games seem to do this, I know they have to set the world up etc etc, but I felt like I had 10 minutes of gameplay, but the game clock thinks I have been playing for an hour or so.

Surely there is a better way. Anyway, now I have the sword and shield and can get off the island for some proper Zelda action! The sword thing seems quite interesting, except not putting the sword when you just go for a walk in a dungeon area Link ends up pointing his sword off lookng generally weird. Good for a laugh. The back ground graphics look nice and I like the oil painting sort of style they have gone for, but the faces are a bit ugly.

Gotta get some more in now.

My thoughts exactly. Finally got a Wii for Christmas (pretty much so that I can play Skyward Sword) and felt really bored and unexcited by the slow start-up, but once you (finally) get your tunic and star truly exploring it becomes like the Zelda games we know and love.
