Just started replaying Cursed Mountain on the Wii. In my opinion it's a very underrated game. The setting and music are great. It is a bit slow paced but I believe that helps with the mood.
The one thing I didn't like was how you couldn't save your progress across several files eg save chapters 1-3 in one file, chapters 2-5 in another and so on, so I could replay chapters at wil.
I tried experimenting last night by opening a new save file - which wiped out all my previous progress . Luckily I'd done only 3 chapters.

Anybody playing the new tomb Raider game? I would like to know what others think, I like TR, but for me it was mostly about puzzles and exploration, I hear the the new one doesn't focus on that as much.

Ive played a few hours and it is not alot like the previous games. This Lara Croft is more like Bear Grylls and Nathan Drake (uncharted) had some kind of female spawn.

It's a great game, you really get into it, and do not want to stop playing it until the end. It's more survival, sneak around and kill, still lots of puzzles, but more QTE and cinematics than finding switches, pushing blocks etc.

Hmm, Okay. I wish there were a demo of it somewhere for me to play. Or maybe I'll just wait and buy it cheap. I do enjoy Uncharted, so Iguess it aint all bad.

Just finished off Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands. It's got excellent platforming, but mediocre combat system. (pretty easy the fights)

The only good modern (somewhat now) Prince of Persia game for me is Sands of Time. All the following games have suffered from some critical mediocrity or another.

Never really bothered with CoD MP modes as I picked up World At War really late and figured that all those still online would kill the crap out of me really bad, but I had the opportunity for some local Zombies on Black ops, and despite my relative suckiness at FPS's we had a lot of fun and worked well together.

Now I want some MORE!:D

Plus it's very impressive visually! These are from the game's photo mode that adds the depth of field, but in-game is very comparable.

Had the most frustrating time on FoC last night. Joined an escalation match with two other people, did some waves then one of them quit. "Host migation", ok..... started up, then the second person left! Host migration again, but I thought that'd be fine because I thought if I was the only one left I'd be the host.
Started playing, someone joined and promptly left.... host migration again!!!! And it happened a second time!!:mad:
By this stage my score had been reset, so I gave up and went back to Dead Space.

On a different note: Have any of you PS3 owners had a crack at Macross 30? I am toying with the idea of picking it up but since I don't understand a word of Japanese, I thought that might take all the fun out of it and instead turn it into an exercise in pure frustration.

I made/asked Valkyrie 76 pick it up for me while he was in Japan. He has 'borrowed' it so I haven't been able to have a crack yet. But it looks promising. One of my favourite Ps2 games was a Macross game, mainly because it combined the three modes uses really well, controlled well and had awesome dogfights!

Apparently it plays similar to the psp macross games if that's any indication. As soon as Valks gets bored of it (won't be long now ;) ) I'll have it for a more informed decision.

Yeah I have never owned a psp or played any type of macross game. As with you I thought it looked pretty cool but I dunno… the story is a major part of what attracts me to most games. If I can't even understand it the gameplay had wanna be awefantabulastic to make up for it.

I stayed late up to watch (as is tradition for this kind of announcement!) but was pretty unimpressed.

None of the tv shit or any of the games they announced interest me. To top it all off they design probably the ugliest, biggest console ever and make the controller uglier too while they were at it! Used game blocking is gonna be horrible as well.

For me the whole announcement gave Wii U a bit of life and left PS4 with a better chance.. but i guess waiting till E3 till they show more games for all of them would be wise before passing judgement!

A friend predicted the end of consoles and a gaming market implosion like the 1980s in the near future. So far it's all leading there with such poorly thought out 'Appeal to non-gamers by alienating real gamers' business plans.

After the crash, the PC will once again rise from the ashes...It always does.

Heck, with the way things are going, I doubt I'll even bother with the PS4. All this social business and online crap, I think they have forgotten the reason people buy consoles. To play the GAMES.

That's not too far off the truth with the emphasis on its set-top box functionality.

Man, MS took a real beating today. How could their plans for the reveal be so bad and nobody noticed? Did no one take a look at the overall presentation and say "Man, we should delay this until we have something good to show the gamers out there"?

And that's the whole problem, this wasn't aimed at gamers. Look at the features and it's clear they're ticking off the boxes that would make shareholders happy.

I can see the meme that will appear tomorrow, "359 steps behind our last console."

I had a similar thought, they seems that gaming has become a side function. They are trying to appeal to a wider audience by alienating the long term customers that has sustained them for many years. The crazy thing is that the wider audience 'comes and goes' so they are setting up for a huge fall.

And now you can see why Nintendo have lasted so long in this business. It's all about the games, not watching movies or tv, which everyone has already been doing on their TVs and DVD players for the last 10-20 years.

Massive fail Microsoft. I was looking forward to seeing what they would do to outplay the PS4, but looks like they are now bottom of the rung. In 12 months time Nintendo and Playstation will be killing it while the Xbox One will be filling up shelves.

It's short and repetitive, lots of humans getting captured/needing rescue. So just like a Prime episode in game format. I regret purchasing it for $25 on sale. Gameplay is okay, nothing buggy, but nothing interesting.

Suffice to say it's no FoC?

Goodness me no.

It's bearable. Definitely aimed at kids, in the 4-8 bracket I think. Even on hard its a cake walk. I still play it occasionally, just to get all the collectables, and hear the voices. I'll never tire of Welker as Megatron.:D

It does have vehicle combat and the Transforming is handled well, you can drive and TF and attack, jump etc all in a smooth motion, which is what I really liked about the ROTF game on ps3.

I do like that their guns transform (Hold to charge and the weapons changes shape) and when in vehicle mode, if you shoot parts, of the vehicle transform to make the guns. EG, the side panels of Ratchet drop out a bit and reveal the guns, so there is some interesting stuff, but you can finish it pretty soon.

Back to Sonic Lost Worlds, I just hope the 3ds version is a good copy of what was shown in the video. I dont want to see it being a 2d super-cut down version with the same name.

Hmm, being Lost WorldS, it makes me wonder if they will take cues from, say Sonic CRackers and other random Sonic concepts...

I like the way you think Tets, the lost worlds title could be a hint at revisiting abandoned sonic concepts (X-treme, crackers, etc)

it's just a rumour but from what I've heard the 3DS version will be a full 3d/2d game like the wiiU version so hopefully it won't be simplified and watered down like Colours and Generations were

I'm still super hyped for Lost Worlds but part of me wishes they would make a game where Sonic's friend's are playable again

It has both elements in it, run around a 3d level and you can either shoot baddies, or smash them. Shotting give you range, but the shots are incredibly weak. Smashing them has power but you are more vulnerable to being hit.

Certain Sonic friends:p
I think Sonic has too many pals personally. I don't mind as long as they enhance Gameplay. But a lot of the time they have just played exactly like Sonic. Take Sonic Adventure 2 for example, Shadow is exactly the same as Sonic. Bah. Even in games where they differ, they have cocked it up. Sonic 06, too much time playing as other characters other than Sonic. Although I could write a thesis on why Sonic 06 should not have been released. ( I really hated negotiating the large world that Sonic could zip around in a second, but Silver had to plod along in. Gah! don't get me started)

Personally, I like the classics buds, Tails, Knuckles, Metal Sonic. Espio is kind of cool. Shadow, Rougue etc can go away. I actually thought that Blaze the cat was a good character and had some interesting skills. I have a soft spot for Marine, coz she's an Aussie (despite being a raccoon)! Actually there are lost of Aussies, Knuckles would have to be an Aussie and all Marine's pals were Aussies (they were Koalas).:D

Ditto.

I loved that game. Kicked so much ass. I held it higher than WFC and FoC. I also liked slight sluggishness of the robot mode movement.
It was an awesome game, and I am not just saying that because it was Australian made.

Aannd just finished inFamous as evil Cole. Had a lot more fun on the second playthrough as the bad guy. Didn't have to accidentally blowing up stupid pedestrians and went crazy with the explosive powers he gets. Lots of fun. I am glad they did the good/bad thing as it made me play through it again. Very impressive.

Only real complaint though is if you clear the areas completely and go thr evil path, when you get seriously juiced, there is nothing to do but take on the final boss. The only generic guys you come across are nothing special. SO if you play this and go the evil route, leave a couple of side missions so you can have some fun with the insane strength he gets.

Absolutely agree. If you don't mind splurging a little hard earned on the psn store, get the dlc infamous 2 pack. It's called festival of blood and is a "what-if" Cole was turned into a vampire. Great fun, short but brilliant.

Started Lara Croft this afternoon since my reports are done for the semester and I had a few hours free when our power was restored (tree came down on the lines) and it is brilliant, a better game than Uncharted 2 so far, it feels more dangerous and the game is very immersive, Lara struggles throughout, unlike Drake who just seems to be enjoying nearly dying every 39seconds...

Yeahm inFamous 2 is next on my buy list I think. Should eb able to pick it up for cheap now methinks. Not so sure about festival of blod though, I can't stand the interface of the PS shop now, it drives me insane. How is it that a search for the title of something doesn't find it? Gaaah!

TR is on my watch list. I am not too sure how I will go as a long term Lara fan. The thing I enjoyed the most about TR is the puzzles and exploration and I hear that those are rather lacking in this new game. Mind you, I amd still playing through TR collection as it is :p Maybe I should avoid playing 4 lara games at once...:o

See how you go. I've got a MISB one to sell for $15 but the postage... you'd probably be able to get it cheaper at JB. :o I think it's gone platinum now.

I love the Tomb Raider games, but the new one is down my list of games to play. I finally got around to playing Uncharted over the last weekend (on Friday and finished on Sunday).

It was similar in theme to the Tomb Raider games which is one of the reasons I wanted to play it, but I got sick of the very repetitious gun fights. Take cover, shoot, move to the next bit of cover, shoot and repeat. I enjoyed the game overall but it's not something I want to play again so I will trade it in.

Next weekend, a long weekend here in Vic, I'm playing Uncharted 2 which as I recall reading is the best of the series. I purchased it three years ago, but it's been sitting in the "to play" pile since then which is far too long.

uncharted two is much better than one IMO. I played two and really enjoyed it. Finished it and then went for a crack at one and just couldn't do it. I think the major put-off for me was the motion control sections, balancing on logs, grenade trajectory... GAH! I am still playing three, but am having trouble with stealthily getting through one bit and want to do it that way, so... Until I find a way, it's stuck in the desert for me.

Started inFamous 2 Yesterday and I have to say I am so far rather impressed. It's a direct continuation of inFamous and manages to give you a good recap of #1 in the introduction as well as a pretty good reason for why Cole has lost most of his powers.

They have really refined the movement controls and running around the city is much easier. They have also added a few thing to help you get to the top of buildings quicker, which I think was my biggest issue with the first one. They have also changed the way his powers work and the upgrade system as well. Graphics are great and the voice work is nice as well. For some reason they have a different VA for 2 from 1, and I prefer 1 personally. But 2's does a good job.

So if you get a chance, I say play it. If you play 2 before 1, I would probably avoid 1 as the changes to movement controls and powers are superior in 2 and it'll feel a bit naff going from the good to the not-as-good. Plus you get the recap of the game in the intro (except for one major surprise in regards to the bad-guy from 1, which I was surprised.).

And it's only 20 bucks.

Could not agree with you more Tets. Loved inFamous 2, both stories are excellent, it is better to play through both completely as good or evil rather than switch during the game. One I do love to go back to every now and again, wish there were more post story completed missions (has the timejump function like infamous 1).

Played some Hitman Absolution this weekend. Hate it. Its very pretty and has some interesting mechanics and ways to take out your enemies, but when it is easier, quicker and more fun to just rampage through and wipe out everyone, good bad or otherwise, it is not really a Hitman game. I found the sit and wait approach a waste of time as often the patterns you observe for 5 minutes disappear when a civilian stumbles on in.

I was rather pleased to see the price, I was expecting a 700 odd mark, but 550 is much more agreeable. Wait a year and it'll be down to 400 odd or so. I just hope it's not region coded, I have gotten used to my Japanese gaming...

Sorry that I have gotten your hopes up, but all the time jump function is is a system that allows you to continue to play on after the final boss by jumping you back in time to before the boss in order to complete any side missions, collect bits and pieces etc.

With all the games to be released ill be grabbing a wii u some point in the near future (as I knew I would once smash brothers, mk and others were announced.)

Also new pokemon type, the first new type since the original gold and silver introduced. Dark and steel I think. Fairy is the new type, super effective against dragon, and members include gardevior and jigglypuff...

Predictable but pretty good showing for Nintendo. They have a steady stream of software until years end and hopefully beyond. I was pleasantly surprised by Mario Kart impressing me the most. After expecting another phoned in version it was nice to see some actual effort being put in. It helps that it bears some resemblance to my long lost F-Zero now too :(

I found Sony's conference the most enjoyable part of this E3 though, the MS blasting was great to watch, and then the price plenty reasonable. Their general attitude was good and made me think PS4 will have a good future. Right now only Shadow Fall and Driveclub interest me for launch so we'll see if they're enough to make me grab one then!

Vita game announements were downright pathetic in numbers but i'm still looking forward to a few games this year. I'll pick up Rayman Legends, Killzone Mercenary and Final Fantasy X HD. Killzone is looking superb! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKKNTujJ9qA)

Passed Tomb Raider :D Now selling $20 plus postage.

Hints/Tips: Collect all mines in mine sweeper challenge when first on Shipwrecked Beach. Mines are known to move and get stuck in the cliff rocks and are harder to spot and kill. Couple of mines will not show up on Instincts at night because the tide is in and covers the mines. Some mines may disappear as a possible bug. Two of the secret achievements are easy to obtain while the third is very tricky.

Overall a good game and it shows how Lara gained her skills doing leaps and jumps, climbing things etc and become a tomb raider. There was one wtf moment right near the end? Those Solarii that just show up at the very end, how did they get there? It was only Miathais shown to go inside the Monastery  The tombs themselves were small and easy. Its more of a third person shooter like that Island game

Solid 8/10.

So been crackalacking on deadpool the last couple of days and well...

Its OK. I have come to the conclusion that most of the budget went into the script. The gameplay is ok, and controls work well adequatelt, but the camera is pretty crap and that sucks a lot in this game.

For example, you will be fighting a tank type character and they don't flinch, so you chop them a couple of times and teleport/dodge (same thing in this game) away behind them or off to the side and zip back to have another hack at their back. The problem is, there isn't a good lock on system for melee and many times, after teleporting away I have lost sight of the enemy, so while I re position the camera to where they are, I usually get hit. Thereby losing any advantage that teleporting away gave me...

This happens a lot. I think part of it stems from the combat play as they have tried to make the sections so you can either melee or shoot as you wish which is admirable, but the problem lies in the enemies doing the same, so you might be fighting a big bruiser, while being shot at from afar.

Add to the mix, the fact that if you do a lock on with your guns, DP slows down and walks, which is annoying when these flying dudes rock up with some horrid lightning attacks, meanwhile I am having to deal with gun toting fellows on the ground as well as melee chaps.

Just a bit more refinement in the controls would have made this game so much more enjoyable in the combat stakes.

luckily the script is frikking HILARIOUS! And Nolan North does a good job as Deadpool. the whole game does a lot of justice to the character, but the actual game play is only just acceptable.

I'd say definite buy if you are a Deadpool fan, otherwise get it on super-cheap as I am finding the controls a bit of an annoyance. Oh and the levels are a bit small too, with practically no exploration required.

I think if this game didn't have the script it does, I wouldn't bother playing it.:o:(

7 hours into Ni no Kuni and I'm not feeling the love that many others have. I'm struggling with the battle system, it feels so slow and clunky for a game that requires some quick change to defend at times. Not to mention the HP/MP sharing along with time limits on using a particularly familiar, is killing it for me. The story isn't that great (yet). All the way up to this point, the story felt stretched out and some of the game's designs are perplexing (I don't mind save points but when there's only one at the beginning and then one at the end per dungeon, WTH?). It just feels like a very slow game. I just got Esther into my party and I'm even dying during the battle tutorial! I'm feeling that all I'm doing during battles (particularly boss battles) is that I'm running away, wait for an opening, then attack or use a spell.

The game's pretty, but I hope it gets better otherwise I won't bother much with post-game and trophies.

Personally, I think mixing real time and turn based features was a huuuuuge mistake. Running in circles trying to not die all while trying to navigate an attack menu is not fun.

When Diablo 3 came out last year I would play non-stop after work till bed time every day, after facing a computer monitor for the most of day. Got a wizard and a demon hunter at lvl60 but never got to clear Inferno. The grinding was just too much and at the time the item drop rate was ridiculous and you'd have to farm gold to get good gear on the Auction House.

With the expansion I may start to play again.

What are your thoughts about the new class? The return of Paladin will obviously make a lot people happy:)

i stop playing because the item drop were getting stupid..the legendary item were alot shitter than some of the rares ... but what killed it for me was the Hell Fire Ring ! ... i got one that was so shit i just gave up... i couldn't believe it sucked so much!! To actually created one ring which is account bound BTW so you cant sell it or anything as well... is one of the hardest thing to do in the game ...and is only available end game ...in inferno difficulty .. you actually need really really good gear to complete the task( basically kill 6 bosses ...two each at the same time) and then they gave me this crap of a ring at the end that no where near as good as the one that i have on .!
http://www.diablowiki.net/Infernal_Machine

i heard that they patch it up and made the loots better now making legendary item better in stats ... but i can't be bother until the new expansion come out.
I really like that they return to a paladin , so you get a proper knight to upgrade , so he be a mix of the barbarian and monk i think .. a fast sword wielder with magic ..

I was going to say the same thing earlier but didn't want to sound bitter. The drop rates really needed to keep up with the difficulty. It's not hard to imagine that this was planned to push players into using the RMAH where Blizzard gets a percentage fee of every transaction.

But I have tried the PS4 demo and wasn't thoroughly disgusted by it. Similar enough to Dungeon Siege but with a familiar story. Should be fresh enough if you haven't played it.

I bought a Journey special edition thing the other day. I already have Flower by the same company and wanted to try Journey, as I heard it was somethig special. And boy howdy was it good. Managed to knock it off in one (and my first) sitting though, thanks to the mechanic of it randomly adding another pleyr to your game. I ended up travelling though my journey with a guy from Japan, who seemed to know exactly where to go.

Turns out the guy had 100% trophies and stuff. Crazy.

Cool thing was, when I first came across the dude, I was like "hmm, NPC? Might follow them for a bit" and this 'NPC' led me to these power ups I would have otherwise missed. Using the 'ping' communications, I eventually came to the comclusion it was an actual person. Crazy. Made me feel bad about pausing to go make some tea:p.

It was great fun, and a fascinating experience. I thoroughly recommend it!

I pre-downloaded from the PSN store the day before as i was too lazy to go down at midnight or pickup the next day. I'm about 22% through the story, but i've probably spent more time exploring the countryside and completing side missions. There's so much to do and see, heaps of hidden collectables, and random objectives such as fly under 50 bridges in a plane.

The scariest thing i've found so far: swimming out into the ocean swell at night to escape the cops, i was sure i would be attacked by a shark, but i got lucky and made it back to shore in one piece and without a wanted level.

Now that I have finished Ni no Kuni (and on my way to the Platinum), I don't get why this game was so well-received , especially when there are several other JRPGs that are better (Tales of Graces f come into mind and yet that was not as critically well received). Out of what I consider the three most important aspects for a JRPG (story, battle system, music), only the music was above average. The story was bland, uninspired and uneventful. The battle system was horrible due to a few minor flaws (which, when aggregated, made the whole thing quite annoying).

Story was predictable (every town you go to, you repeat the same things, i.e. cure the brokenheartness of the ruler). The sidequests were super repetitive and simple. I always hate it when developers make some 'essential' item have low drop rates, but Ni no Kuni takes the cake here, combining low drop rate with rare enemies for a certain sidequest. It seems like a lot of people just loved it because they haven't played many other JRPG's before and suddenly because this game was so hyped up thanks to Studio Ghibli's involvement, people loved it and said it was awesome! Apart from the graphics/art direction, this game is very average. Extremely disappointing that we didn't even get a 2D cutscene for the ending (which makes sense since the final arc was tacked on and extended when compared to the DS's version).

Yeah i can't believe how good Wind Waker looks! I was gonna hold off on this but i got bored on the weekend and bought it. Haven't put it down since. Easily one of the best Zelda games made, and it actually puts a few games from the this generation to shame. Have been playing some Red Dead Redemption lately. Hotdamn I love that game. Helps that I like westerns though so there is lots if nerd love going on. That Wilhelm scream makes me laugh every time.

Going through the challenges and finally cracked the knife the bear to death challenge. What a pain that was. Worst thing was while I was attempting it, I'd have one bear down to a knifeable level and two of his mates would rock up. Crazy! Resorted to blasting my targeted bear bear with bullets using the Mauser pistol about 7/9 times and he was weak enough to kill with the knife!

Crikey!

I still need to get those symbols. Hrm.

Crikey!

Still good fun, it's such a great game and the landscape is just incredible!

RDR is fantastic, I had many hrs of fun getting to 100%. Wait to the blow two cougars up with dynamite challenge...omg that was ridiculous and bloody scary.

I can't gauge from the reviews I've read but is it scary? I hate survival horror, and I even got scared (for a lack of a better term) in Chapter 18/19 of Uncharted. I don't think I can stomach a whole game of that if it is.

There are a few short scenes and areas throughout the game that is scary. But the core focus was watching Joel and Ellie adapt to each other. When your up against the infected and its night time, it can be scary. There were moments that made me jump/shake a bit. So yeah if your easily scared maybe avoid this game. But you'll be missing out on something spectacular in gaming history.

After 60+ hours do you still see the cleavage or do you no longer notice it? If it is a really good game i think the art style has done a disservice to it as I stereotype it as a 'cheap ultra attractive game to hide the gameplay'.

I've always noticed it (less so if playing on Vita) and it doesn't bother me.
Let people think whatever they want to think. It's their loss and I'm enjoying myself.

The controls took some getting used to at first, but now I like them.
and all the levels feel unique and well designed.

The only flaws I've found are (as usual) Sonic's friends aren't playable. Amy's voice is incredibly annoying and most importantly of all, the boss battles so far have felt extremely underwhelming.

For a group called the deadly six so far they haven't felt deadly at all.

Right now I have just finished the first stage from the forest area. and besides those few things it has been tons of fun, even some of my friends who don't really like sonic games have been enjoying it :D

Journey was fantastic, albeit short (finished it in 1.5 hours the first time around), loved the multiplayer element, I thought that was one of the best implementation of online multiplayer ever. Flower was decent, good use of motion controls. I hated Flow, felt boring and much more abstract than the other two, the unorthodox controls didn't help. A decent amount of digital extras, twas a worthwhile purchase :).

Same, also current reviews of the next-gen games are saying they're nothing special, only graphically on occasions. It usually takes a year after a console launch before the games start pushing the console and actually stand out. The next few months we'll see the big Wii U games showing up, starting next week with Super Mario World 3D. Can't wait.

John Carmack is leaving iD Software. :(

From the Kotaku AU (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2013/11/doom-co-creator-john-carmack-leaves-id-software/) article:

John Carmack, co-creator of iconic first-person-shooter Doom and one of the smartest minds in video games, has resigned from the development studio he helped co-found.

As seen as on IGN (http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11/22/doom-creator-john-carmack-officially-leaves-id-software), Carmack is stepping away from the company where he served as lead programmer on Wolfenstein 3D, Quake and Rage. Id’s official statement, via parent company Bethesda, follows:

“John Carmack, who has become interested in focusing on things other than game development at id, has resigned from the studio. John’s work on id Tech 5 and the technology for the current development work at id is complete, and his departure will not affect any current projects. We are fortunate to have a brilliant group of programmers at id who worked with John and will carry on id’s tradition of making great games with cutting-edge technology. As colleagues of John for many years, we wish him well.” -Tim Willits, Studio Director, id Software

This latest move comes after Carmack took on the role of head of technology at Oculus VR (http://www.kotaku.com.au/2013/08/john-carmack-has-a-new-job-but-still-involved-with-id-in-some-way), which makes the buzzed-about Rift virtual reality headset. Though Willits essentially says that Id’s always-strong technology development is on a steady course, Carmack’s departure certainly marks the end of an era.

I wanted to remain a technical adviser for Id, but it just didn’t work out. Probably for the best, as the divided focus was challenging.

Had I try on my friend Oculus rift VR .... And I got to say it is an awesome gimmick .... I was very excited to muck around with it , and the motion sensor on the head unit is very good very little to no lag at all , so when you move your head alittle to the left the whole scene move and when you look behind you 180 it turn around ! just like your there..! ... It a dev kit at the moment so the imaging is in low res , close up of images has a "flyscreen" effect and the 3d strain your eyes at first ,Slow tour of our solar system was amazing .... but the worst is that you get Motion sickness when it goes too fast like on a roller-coaster ride... which is awesome !! but it really f**k you up!! I don't sick at all watching a 3hour 3d movie ....but this one ride really mess up your senses ... Had a go with it on halflife2 as well but the movement was just to disorienting to be playable for any length of time , cause I notice to we only move our neck just a little degrees to the right and left , but when your playing the game you basically turn 90 degree to go to that direction ...... So I played with it for around half an hour , but after that I was sick for around 2hour !!! ...the feeling is just BAD like sea sickness!! so for now it be only a gimmick .... But the first time you look around in a 3D VR environment in all direction ...left ,right , up and down and 180 behind you is just amazing!

Knocked off Arkham Origins yesterday. Good little game, pretty much a carbon copy of City, but I am not complaining. Story wasn't as quite as "Whooo" as the other two, but it was amusing enough for me to have felt like I got my money's worth.

Some of the fights with the bosses were a tad annoying. I found BanE a pain;) especially when he went to his venom charge thing, so bloody hard to dodge out of the way sometimes, and the final fight, as I was unsure for a long time how to do it, then when I worked out what t do, tight areas and camera in wrong spot issues meant Batman got more of an ass whipping than he should have as I couldn't see what was going on.

Now to finish the challenges and what not.

Me three! Though i don't see myself doing another run for a while, i'll probably go back and polish off the heart pieces. Baseball was awesome! You did realise hitting 3 pots in a row triggers the bird right? Makes it easy enough!

Although i've enjoyed console Zelda's very much overall (except Skyward Sword, stopped after first dungeon), i've always thought that 2d Zelda is just inherently better from not being constrained by a realistic approach. Makes for a much faster, more streamlined experience with almost no down time or fluff the whole way through. This was a brilliant example of game design!

The puzzles were perhaps a bit easy for my taste, and compared to the original LTTP, but it's been such a long time that i may be mis-remembering the old game a bit.

Almost makes me want to go back to Skyward Sword, but knowing how slow and hand-holding it is by comparison... i'll think i'll leave it for a good while still :P

I'm late to the party, but finally played Tomb Raider over the last few days. LOVED it.

I'm a big fan of the Tomb Raider games (since the original on PSX) so I wasn't sure a reboot would work. The previous reboot (Legend) had done a great job and I would have been happy if they'd remade the other games with that engine like they did with the first/Anniversary.

I put the game in to have a bit of play and was still playing four hours later. The difficulty level was just right, not too hard to be throw-the-controller frustrating, not too easy to be boring. I got into the flow and just couldn't put it down.

Several multi-hour plays later and I've completed the story and am finishing off some of the challenges and all that.

It's not the most original game though. There were elements that reminded me of Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, and the Arkham games, but it was like the best of those combined with Lara. Hope to hear about a sequel soon.

Tomb raider was only second to Bioshock Infinite for my favourite game release of the year.

Perfect pacing, great combat and an interesting story that left enough loose ends to remain mysterious. Every time I got Lara killed by my incompetence (usually from admiring the scenery rather than the qte) I felt horrible!

Just finished arkham city story, it was very enjoyable but a fair bit silly with the league of assassins characters. Now to hunt down all the Riddler trophies and Zasz calls. I think it will be harder than asylum.

The only combat bit I didn't like was the helicopter/shantytown bit. Needed to google a solution as I kept being overwhelmed. I wanna replay that battle and see if I can do better with a better hang of the combat controls.

I got the game in April I just found out, but played all 3 Uncharted Games first (because they'd been on my shelf a long time too and I wanted to work oldest-new). I enjoyed those too but I should have bet on Lara.

Pretty obvious why Mario Karl Wii didn't warm the hearts of many people, the stupid damn blue shells, literally punishes skill drivers and rewards drivers based on luck.
