Ah, Schrödinger's toy box. It exists in a superposition of flawless and broken states until you open the box and collapse the wave function. You can always take your MISB toys to the airport, feed them through the security scanner and try and catch a glimpse on the screen. Or buy your own if you've got $5000 to spare.

The MISB issue is something I've thought about before, though in the context of buying rather than selling, and it's why I always make sure there's a returns policy when buying on Ebay. Australian consumer guarantees do not cover one-off private sales so I would say that in this case, as a buyer, you're out of luck unless the seller has a returns policy. Similarly, as a seller, I don't think you'd be obliged to provide a refund as long as you clearly state this up front.

If the item is sold as part of a business then your rights under consumer law should still apply and you are entitled to the seller's choice of refund, repair or replacement for minor problems or your choice of refund, repair or compensation for value loss for major issues.

Yep, in this case you're buying to re-sell so you (and not your supplier) are required to fulfil the consumer guarantees. Whether you can then seek compensation from further up the supply chain is your problem. The main issue would be in proving that it wasn't a one-off sale. Easy if you sell all 50 at once on Ebay, but harder if you sell in individual lots over a period of time. If you were careful, it would probably be more trouble for the buyer than it's worth to try and prove you were liable.

Also about the leaking batteries debate as well.... The sold item when open has a totally destroyed battery compartment ...what then? who responsibility will that be?

A second hand item that is sealed, is at the risk of the buyer... so be sure that it is sealed or has a window when buying it.
A buyer should be aware and accept that a non-retail figure that is old, the contents are not the responsibility of the seller if it was sold in good faith by a seller who did not open the packaging. If the item is in there but is faulty, it is not something the seller did to the item, as they had no contact with it, so isn't responsible. It just sucks if you bought it and now have to buy another.

However.... If the seller had never opened the box and it had no window to pre-verify the contents, BUT the item inside had been swapped out before the seller bought it, then that would be a messy situation that would be difficult to resolve, as the current buyer would think the seller ripped him off, while the seller would be thinking the buyer is scamming a refund.
It would be one for ebay to sort out...

How often do Robot Kingdom have sales? They have an item I want but am not prepared to pay what they are currently asking. However I have been keeping an eye on the stock levels and it doesn't really appear to be selling that well. So I'm hoping they will knock 10-20% off it in the near future thus convincing me to pick it up.

And thinking about it, I can't really remember them putting much stuff on sale

To be honest mate I don't think they ever have, not during the time I've been purchasing from them at least anyway - They more often tend to simply discount old stock that wont move, or when stock numbers of a certain item become extremely low.
(Made huge savings myself in this regard with 3 sets of Reissue Micromaster combiners & 90% of my TF: Animated collection )

Basically, you just have to trawl the site regularly & occasionally you'll come across a bargain - It's infrequent though.

So I got platinum Ultra Magnus yesterday and noticed a 03 of 30 for 30th anniversary sticker. Do we have a list of this line somewhere?
