I think they said something about wanting to appeal a bit to the Gundam and model making crowds. Like bait to get them interested in Transformers.

I actually liked it, but I have a thing for Lego and putting things together like that.

If Hasbro are indeed "allowing" another (separate) company to produce converting Transformers *toys*, I think it would probably be a first (for Hasbro), because they are so possessive of their properties.
TakaraTomy have done it with CMS, but with restrictions... and the Revoltech (which aren't convertible, or strictly speaking, toys).
What about those little figures that came with a stick of gum? Were they made by Takara or by a licensed 3rd party?

Kabaya looks like it could be a separate company, which goes with the impression that TakaraTomy are more willing to let other companies touch Transformers than Hasbro does.

(not sure if Kabaya model kits count as toys though... but some are indeed partially convertible - which is moot though, because we are talking about Hasbro being the over-protective one)

Looking at the very limited info so far (in just a single sentence saying they have a license from Transformers), it sounds like it could just be another license for (poseable) figurines.
Maybe Hasbro don't want to risk having someone else doing a better job at producing convertible Transformers.

3A Toys also have their own house style. Typically heavily worn and rustic when approaching licensed products. Check out their Valve, Halo, Real Steel or Metal Gear toys.

Also worth a look is their take on the Gundam license, usually very heavily possessed by BANDAI. Ashley Woods did his interpretation of the Zaku, so the Transformer could look like anything.
Which brings us to where we are today...

I don't have any of the YOTH TFs and I don't intend to collect them... but if anyone does or is going to, could they kindly consider posting pics of them doing Gangnam Style on the Action Pose Thread please? The irony is too delicious to pass up. Probably not possible w/ Starscream, but definitely doable w/ Optimus Prime!

I'm really quite curious to see what an Ashley Wood take on Soundwave might look like.

    Sorta TF related question:

I ordered 3 items from Amazon: 1: The Covenant of Primus, 2: The Art of Prime & 3: The 2014 FOC Calender.

Now I asked for them all to be shipped together and to take the slowest form of shipping in order to save a few bucks. I received an email a few days ago from Amazon saying that they had posted The Covenant separately and it would arrive on Feb 12th. I then received an email today saying they posted the other two items and they would be here Jan 28th.

How the hell does that work?!?!

and the selection is for least number of shipments. so they then choose how to break up the shipments if they wish.
