So I did the rounds Monday to quite a few Big W's, they are looking the same as Mandurah (which is bugger all). Asked staff whats going on and they gave me the 'Don't know', which leads me to believe Big W is getting ready to clear out all old stuff before pushing ahead with Combiner Wars. From Griffin's report at Toy Fair Big W got the rights for a June release of Devastator, so they might be ramp-ing up for big Combiner Wars push. As to why WA gets nothing for a while before this happens ... well ... its WA =(

They priced matched the Myer's catalog too, which was nice.

Midland Big W, which never has ANYTHING, had two sets of Wave 2 combiners. They didn't stock Wave 1, so was a surprise find.

I snapped up 1 set, but there is a full set remaining (including air raid of course). Just need Motormaster now.

They priced matched myer, so great steal - especially with only 2 days left on the sale!

Hasbro are on to a winner with these combiners, I cannot recall a time where i would purchased 4 deluxe figures in one hit. One minute they have 8 products on a full shelf, and it only takes two people to clear them out.

Not a big fan of Menasor. Need the budget for Devestator. Definitely picking that baby up. Possibly get Defensor and Combaticons when that is rolled out. From the info on TFW looks like Combaticons is coming out next.

Thanks for sharing that. Not sure what shipping comes in at but the option to layby over 6 months locally made it a lot more palatable, especially after playing catch up with a few other figures recently.

YOTG optimus at Myer joondalup, just got mine. :) after i got mine i saw there was 5 left. it is at $199, they have the platinum leader grimlock and optimus (with no prices on them) and only a couple of CW silverbolt. Rather dismal really. Considering they are cataloge items, they are tucked away up the back with about a 2 foot facing.

Spoke to the Karrinyup service desk and they said it has not even been distributed centrally to WA. If it has they can see an In Transit note on their system.

Take that as you will as I don't know how the internal tracking system works in Big W.

I went to Midland tonight, as BIG W had a sale on the Legends figures( which I have no interest in - but at $10, thought I would check out).

OF COURSE Big W had NOTHING! Just as my eyes dropped down from the pegs, I see it.......................


I FOUND THE GREEN BEAST - Devastator, tonight, here in WA!!!

One Solitary box sitting on the bottom shelf.........I had to double take, the heart rate slightly increase as I grabbed the box. I had that winning feeling ( much like when the eagles beat richmond last week! haha).

I was pumped, I finally found the elusive bastard! To be honest, I had that gut feeling tonight, I couldn't ignore it, and it paid off.


IN SUMMARY:

HOPE: It Exists in WA....... Get out there and scavenge!

FRUSTRATION: See the above posts, we were all left to believe it hadn't even hit our shores.

ANNOYING: I went to Midland on Thursday and put my name on 'the list' to be called. I rang yesterday and they confirmed my name was on the list YET i received no call while these were put out on the floor.

HEART BREAK: These forums have reported no one from WA picking one up. There was room on the shelf for about 4/6 and I found the last one, so the Ozformer fans have missed out (so far).

Hopefully other outlets have them. Midland may put more more tomorrow if the cupboard is bare.

I work for another (big box, not department store) retailer and while we can order 20 of something, if someone is only shipping us 5, we'll get five. So I've been going to Big W constantly and speaking to the staff about what there stocks will be like.

First of all let me say this: Mandurah Big W is the worst. At one point there was not a single transformer on the shelves, not one ... for a whole week ... even after the sale had started.

Apparently they received only half of there stuff for the sale, but all at once ... so the restocks of other toys they think they'd sell out of in the first week as well as others. Transformers where nowhere to be seen ... until today.

The BH Wave 2/3 showed up for $10 which was good. The other thing is that when Mandurah does get the big green bot, they are getting 16. Sad news is that people have already put there names down in the books for waiting. This doesn't bother me as I've already decided to go for United Devastator and Defensor anyway.

Warnbro Big W didn't have anything as of Monday but I'll be swinging by there tomorrow to have a check.

What ticks me off most is that Big W Riverton had stock but the useless chap overseeing the toy department told me that they had none (I could tell that he was lying through his teeth).
He told me to come back the next day when he thinks the stock will arrive.
When I called just prior to noon the next day, I got transferred to the same useless joker looking after the toy department there and he then laughed over the phone and said it was all sold out!
When I asked when would a restock be coming in, there was silence and then I asked again, that idiot said it's all sold out (again).
That's Big W customer service for you.

I'm not surprised if he had some scalper friend on the side that he was assisting but I was and am not impressed.

Curiosity got the better of me so went to shops on way home. One motor master at target Midland, silverbolt, no deluxe figs. A few of those little legion figures for $5. I got bumblebees and cliffjumper for the kids to play with. Kmart has a couple wave1 cw. Big w, don't bother, there's nothing.

This is probably more suitable on some more Australia wide thread, and perhaps already has been mentioned, but I happen to give TRU a browse online (to look for listings for MP Starscream actually) and saw "Online Deals" for MP-22 as well as the Platinum Blaster/Perceptor set.

The former is going for $249.xx (about 17% discount) and the latter for $149.xx, which at 25% discount I can't resist anymore (been looking for a G1 set of the Autobot cassettes and haven't had luck). Postage seems rather constant at $9.99 for Perth metro even with a heap of items in the cart :)

After your post i had a look at the Platinum Blaster/Perceptor set. It's probably reasonable enough price, i had it in the shopping cart but decided against it.

G1 blaster is pretty big, would stand out from the rest of my collection (universe/classics). Both figs are great, but yer, i have to draw the line somewhere.

Still stoked I picked up the soundwave reissue at the airport in KL back in 2009 for $30. Even though i have the original, that was one of my best pickups.... was all so cheap over there.

For more serious collecting though, you'd most likely need to look to online retailers from overseas, as we sometimes miss out on Hasbro stock and very little 3rd party makes it here. Not to mention hunting around for high demand items can be frustrating if you're coming up empty most of the time. MP Soundwave comes to mind...

It was sweet when the AUD was 0.90 USD or higher, but more painful now, although we're still not far worse off compared to buying local for many things...

I have backed out on MT Guardia (Defensor) with the AUD tanking as much as it has, even though I already got Axle. Just can't stomach the exchange rate and paying upwards of $600 now! So... been driving around last few days after work desperate for a local Hot Spot, finally found a lone one at Kmart Innaloo! Didn't see any Protectobot limbs anywhere I went, but did manage to also pick up Groove.

They had CW Legend Wave 5, which I hadn't seen before (Buzzsaw, Pipes, Shockwave, Chop Shop). It is incredible what a good figure Shockwave is!!

Popped back into the shop (it's called High Fidelity, where Empire Toys used to be) where I got my Hot Toys T-800 Endoskeleton. They still have 30% off all collectibles which includes the high-end Hot Toys figures, Sideshow collectibles, busts, etc. They seem to have a number of earlier released items, and if my experience is anything to go by, don't seem to mark them up like the sellers on ebay.

Don't understand why Kmart sells the CW deluxe at $25 and the Rid deluxe at $29. Should both be the same price.

Actually... the RID warriors are cheaper in America than the GEN Deluxes (the RRP of both, which is dictated by the wholesale price).
