I saw that from Seibertron... and thought it was a deceptive description/title, by saying that it is AFA, which it isn't (as noted in the photos). In the fine print it is only suggesting that it could be AFA-graded... which you could recommend with anything anyway. :rolleyes:

It comes seperated and then once its put together its designed to not easily come apart again. Thats why there are quite a few Maximus around with a bendy sword...:eek:

It doesn't come apart once you put it together. With his, I think he's just not put the sword together at all. Once put together, there is no way to fit it back into the box again if all the styro pieces are also present.

My money is on it being a KO because it doesn't say "Transformers" on it at all.
That was one toy that was produced and released in China in the early 90s (http://www.fredsworkshop.com/vchina.html), but with different packaging (http://www.fredsworkshop.com/zchinaliokaiser.html) to the JP packaging... and not the packaging in that auction either.

It is probably an old KO, which is why the packaging is so damaged.

Yeah I think its legit, but I bet it would be just economy shipping and from belgium that would take weeks.

The big ticket items are really only scorpy and megs and most are incomplete, I'd say around $1700 would be a lot better price. The more in the bundle the less per item.

If you wanted a shot at this I'd ask for a photo of the date stamp - most KOs generally have made in France which was apparently uber-rare.

Actually most KO primes have made in Japan..... only the first run which wasn't very many had made in france - I had a genuine made in france one when growing up and got another last year.... :D

That one however is actually a chinese reissue prime so its legit but not 'original'...

if none of the above you should give him a chance, as it'll most likely be fine.
I can't remember the number but you can make a paypal claim for goods that haven't turned up within 30 days of the end of sale I think.

In future, I recommend making sure you are satisfied with a sellers legitimacy before bidding or Buying it Now.

Paypal has never let me down.. At least contact the seller and ask for registered post if you're worried, especially if it's been a few days since you won it.

It may not be as bad as you think. I was a buyer for some time on eBay before I became a seller, so I had no selling feedback at all when I sold my first items. I guess the people that bought from me may have had similar concerns, but every seller has to sell their first item at some point. In the meantime, at least you've got their feedback as a buyer to make an educated guess as to their legitimacy.

That's be about the gold spot, at least in terms of good condition originals or Official Reissues; Parts forming could cost you a little bit more or a little bit less but $100-150 and IMO you're gonna get a pretty decent piece/set. :)

Some of the Beast-related BotCon figures are almost justifiable. $80-100 for an Onyx Primal. $150 for a TM Tigaton. Windrazor and Sandstorm seem to have come back down in price a bit.

There's no proof they are doing it... it's just speculation based on how they have been able to sell toys in expensive, fancy boxes in the past for less than these (which are just toys in plastic bags this time). If they can produce Deluxe figures as membership toys, and sell them in plastic bags for $25-30... you gotta wonder where the extra $30 is going for these ones. And keep in mind, Hasbro can produce Deluxe toys for about US$4 each and sell them wholesale at about US$8 each (complete with backing card & bubble) - even if a small production run with extra paint apps and a couple new heads adds to the expense, there is a massive difference here that someone is pocketing.

I don't think there's much we can do but act like 5DFP and vote with your feet. It's not like they're a listed company so we can't really demand for their profits or production costs.

We know they're making exuberant amounts of profits, however if they wanted to make tons of money through toys I wished they were smarter with it. What happened with customising class SG Shockwave could easily be avoided if they produced several thousand for sale to non-attending club members, with the end result being more profits for them and more equality for their other club members. People will still pay for the customising class just to get it first ahead of everyone else. I'm darker on the selfish A-holes that go to the custom class with no other intention than re-selling the toy afterwards. Get lost and make room for someone who wants to be there and keep the toy.:mad::mad:

I do see validity in making the kits available to others outside of the class, it's not a bad idea, though the custom elements could be a bit harder to provide. the minerva ears were extremely fragile. it would take the shine off the secondary market though. and I find that extremely appealing.

While it's a bit surprising at the price Funpub are charging for the subscription service, I'm wondering if they priced it a little higher than necessary to allow for orders to fall short of their projections. If they had posted prices a lot lower and then not had enough people buy in, they would have ended up losing big time and when it comes down to it, even though they are fans, they are also a business and have to pay their own wages.

If they are going to make say 10,000 of something, they know in advance how much they can charge for it and make the necessary profit. if they don't know if they're making 10,000 or 1000, they'll be much more likely to price as if they are making 1000, it just makes good business sense.

keep in mind that this is the first time they've ever offered first class mail international for any club postage options. they could have made it a lot harder on us if they'd kept postage the same as they used to.

That must have been a lucky score... an auction? If so, it just takes a listing that misses the attention of others keen on them. Or a mispelt title. Any time that has happened to me, the seller pulled the listing at the last minute, or had a friend bid and then offered it to me at my max bid, so if it was an auction, you were lucky to have the seller honour it.
I think everyone who has that set or wants it, would be insanely jealous of your score.
Basically, the toys from the first four botcons (except Onyx Primal from 1996) can demand anywhere between $400-700 each (Breakdown, Nightracer, Packrat/Fractyl).

Just had a look and I totally agree with Starscream77.

I am by far not an expert on G1 figs, but the tell tale signs of a dodgy/fake eBay powerseller are there: a low number feedback score, with very few of those score numbers belonging to a buyer; of the buyers, there are at least 2 repeat buyers in 4 transactions inside 6 months; very few photos; scant amount of info in description; and listing multiple rare toys in a bundle?
The toys themselves look very sparkly fresh for G1 test shots, and why would G1 Acid Storm and Turbine come with a mini-Megatron to be held?

I think some of those he's listed are KOs, but most are probably "legit" from the factory, as I think some of those moulds haven't been KOed (Hot Rod & Astrotrain?).

This person is in Holland, so if these really are "lunchtime specials", he must have been amassing a serious collection of them at the time (about 10 years ago now).
But with so many KOs out there now, these unauthorised figures don't have much value in them. Before KOs started rearing their heads, a (verified) prototype would have been a valuable part of Transformers History.... now though, there's too much risk that it is just a fake for it to be worth buying, or claiming that you have one.

Prototypes with any potential value are the ones that can be verified as prototypes, by having a destroyed face and/or "not for sale" etched into them somewhere. (but yeah, you could do that to a KO and pass it off as a prototype... so it just isn't worth spending excessive money on something that could be a fake, and doesn't look very nice anyway)

Kinda makes me wish I'd begged stores (or Hasbro) for the displays here once they were done (which were probably given away or trashed anyway).

For the entire lot that price appears about market price right now. Obviously if they were all MISB it would be higher.

If you decide to sell them seperatly there are some that go for a lot more than others - like stepper is down the cheap end while prime/minibots are the more expensive/desirable ones.
