I was a bumblebee collector of these when they went on sale less than a dollar overseas and then there are some people who will take the limited bee on the boxed set (the slide / track thing like hotwheels). The Skywarp Attacktix only came in series 2 box set so its pretty hard to get (I got mine a number of years ago). I think the megatron comes from the box set and the omega sentinel is from a different box set, so you are missing the optimus prime from that box set

It looks like the market has made the call on the actual value of this set and it is somewhat more sane then the first auction, which was IIRC $27-30K AUD :eek:

Box is defs Chinese reissue but the figure has a smooth canopy and the paperwork is Series 1, the second sticker sheet is repro but the figure has all it's stickers anyway with the two sheets combined, I actually think the figure is a pre-rub, would need to see the stamp to confirm it.

Quite possible. Had a look earlier and the person who bid had about a 6 feedback score. Not to say those with low scores are sham bidders but this price is just too much of an outlier. Perhaps the auction will end and the seller will later claim that the winning bid did not pay. Not sure if this is the case but the item may still appear in a sold or completed listing.

This auction is for a: 1980's Prehistory Animal "PRONTOSAURUS" aka Dinobot "SLUDGE"

Note: Most collectors considered this line a knock off, remold of the Diaclone Dinobots. However my personal theory is that they were licensed since they were sold by large retail chains (like Toys 'R Us) and are of higher quality than most knock offs during that period. This figure was made in Taiwan (even though there are no markings on the actual figure) and came out in the mid '80's. It is actually well designed and the materials used are only slightly inferior to the Hasbro toys. This line is extremely rare to find, especially unbroken.

Joints: Solid for this figure

Paint/Chrome: Has quite a bit of chrome wear but still look pretty good. There's also some gunk on his head and face but I think it could clean off

Weapons/Accessories: This comes as is with what you see in the pictures and nothing more.

Overall condition: In my opinion the toy is in overall C7.5 shape due to the chrome wear but is still nice otherwise and makes a great display piece as you can see from the pictures. But please keep in mind that while the materials used and construction of the figure are superior to most ko's, they still aren't as nice as Hasbro Dinobots. So they do wear and break easier than Hasbro Dinobots, which also makes them very hard to find in this good of shape.

Just be happy you got the refund, I've had express mail from Canada take nearly 3 months. You're better off with sea mail. my motto is 'don't buy from Canada'.

They sell pretty well on TCCA Buy/Sell/Trade page on facebook, there are a few new people getting into collecting who don't seem to use e-bay.

I agree too, it seems most of us old G1 guys have what we need, also ebay looks to have become a secondary buying site for collectors with the rise of selling on facebook.
I think sellers were pricing way to high on ebay which made people not even bother looking anymore, prices got a bit nuts and items never selling; one because sellers are idiots and think a busted cab only of a G1 Prime is worth a heap and two some experienced sellers have to increase prices due to the overall cost of selling on there. Since ebay introduced GST for everyone the percentage that ebay take from your sale including paypal fees is approx. 13.58% So straight away if a seller is selling on facebook they can offer a better price and be more likely to sell their item. Works well for buyers too.

I do agree with everything said. Just typing G1 into ebay brings up a majority of KO :( I did have a little luck recently selling off boxed bandai stuff for a fair price all round.
I was really trying not to have to get back on FB.

The saddest thing is, the things i'm selling off are to raise money to pay for postage of another TF. When it cost 80 or 90 bucks to post a carded limbot you know somethings wrong:p

I agree. If he became concerned it wasn't legitimate he should have pulled listing and relisted making it clear he was not sure if legit or KO. It was good that he put the updates but just looking at the listing on a mobile, people may not have noticed it (which is partly their own fault).

I wonder if they can legally call themselves "official" as I don't see any sign of them being associated with Hasbro.
They do seem to only sell items that have been found in Australia, so the stock does appear to be domestically obtained... but are they a private customer of Hasbro (unlikely), or one of the toy wholesalers that Hasbro deals with, who is using this ebay page to offload their Transformers stock (and if so, why just Transformers).
Has anyone bought from this seller, and did they send an invoice/receipt with a business registration/number?
